I don't wanna hear ANY complaining from any of you.

Asura:
Gold Ingot - 70K
Painite - 120K
Tiger Leather - It wasn't as bad
Velvet Cloth - It wasn't as bad

Yea, Asura got screwed since all our high level Goldsmiths swapped servers, so we got THESE prices now.

Gobbie bag SIX is only 100k more (I think...)

On Kujata:
Gold Ingot - 40K
Painite - 50K
Tiger Leather - 3k
Velvet Cloth - 6k

All I have to say about this is...ouch. May the 4th quest be cheaper.

Hey I still need to do this Quest so how much will it take to do this on Unicorn server?

if its like 100k it probably will be correct...heard from some friends its around that price. so i hope the prices havent skyrocketed in the meanwhile.

I have 40 Inventory slots and its still not enough...i need 60 slots :)

It looks like the requirements for this quest are Level 5 Jeuno fame. I had level 4 Jeuno fame and this quest wasn't available to me, then went to bastok and did 2 quests to increase my bastok fame to level 5. Then I went back to Jeuno, and my Jeuno fame had also increased to level 5. Now the quest was available to me (strangely, Gobbiebag IV was also available to me). The total cost was about 80k, 35k for the painite, 35k for the gold ingot, and then not much total for the rest. Gobbiebag IV is MUCH cheaper, only cost me about 15k

heh... i done this by only doing 17 quests only

i think only high jeuno fame needed for this quest

i'm wasting 14 stacks of bohyoda moss to have the 4 gobbie bag quest

hehe I wouldn't say wasting...more like investing.
painite gives me a royal pain
# Apr 26 2004 at 5:57 AM Rating: Decent
Painite is virtually impossible to get on my server (Pandemonium). If you check the AH (auction houses) it has not sold anywhere for two weeks and the price is over 40K gil.

I have several high level goldsmith friends who have tried to synthecize it from black stones they mine but they **never** get an exceptional synthesis which is what is required to get the stone.

I believe square should step in and add some stones or make an alternative synthesis for painite, since exceptional results are so rare.

Any ideas or suggestions?

PS: Aren't most of these posts off topic and should be reclassified to a fame or reputation forum? Yes, fame is needed for quests but fame is needed for all quests. It would be much more efficient to handle this in a fame topic some place.

I make these regularly (1/6) on Asura, but I don't put them all up at the same time. Also, people, don't forget one thing:

Finished products wouldn't cost so damn much if the farmers would quit jacking up the prices of raw materials. I'd be happy to sell gold ingots for 50k a piece, but considering it takes 4 ore or beastcoins, and the ore sell for 30k a piece, and the beastcoins 35, how could I reasonably do so?

not sure if your friends know how days correlate with results (i'm assuming they do if they're high crafters) but if they don't know, there's a couple things they can do to boost chances of exceptional results- 1) level up more, 2) do the synthesis on the day of the week that the crystal they are using is weak. I.E. ice crystal on firesday, lightning on earthsday, etc. Even if both of these requirements are satisfied, somethings do just take a very long time to come across. Either way, best of luck.

Painite can be found off Dromas in Feiyin, Skull of Lust in Eldieme Necropolis, or Treasure chest in Crawlers Nest.. at least from what I've heard

Know any high level thives with treasure hunter II?

yea but think about that if it raises the lower one what happens once the lower one becomes higher, it'll raise the other one. hence- once you get them even it will raise them both, pretty simple logic here ;) i turned in about 9 or 10 stacks of boyahda moss to the guy in selbina and i went from lvl 2 fame in sandoria & 1 fame in bastok to rank 7 in both, as well as went to rank 6 or 7 in jeuno as well.

I used 8 stacks and never having done a single quest in jeuno, sandy, or bastok I was now able to get the warp, drain, goblin tailor and gobbie bag quests.

Saying that this quest only raises the lower one is a steaming pile of horse ****.

I started with level 6 fame in Bastok and level 3 fame in San Doria. After turning in a bunch of cabbage BOTH of the cities raised 3 fame levels. I really don't understand where people get this crap about lowest fame city.

I know have max fame in Bastok and level 6 fame in San Doria

oh ya and this quest costed me ~65k, since I was able to save a few k by making the velvet.

I will agree as well. I have done the selbina quest over 240 times (yep, 240 times :) ) and I only had a few lvls of fame in each city. after everything was said abd donbe I had rank7 in bastok and rank8 in sandy with maybe rank 7-8 in jeuno.

Also Im still unsure about how fame in jeuno is calculated it must not quite be an average of all fame bcause I am rank9-sandy, rank8-bastok, rank7-windy, rank9-jeuno, rank6-norg, rank8-rabao, rank7-kazham. and no idea about rank in mhurar/selbina But I havent done very many jeuno quests so I find it somewhat odd. I think Ive done like 10-15 others (gobbie1-3, delkfut map, tarut cards, all RSE, light the lanters maybe 3 times, and I think thats aboiut it) Oh well, I dunno!

PS- sorry for any typos, this is a really tiny keyboard ><

I got this and the previous 2 gobbie bags all in a row. I only had the Choco license done in Jeuno prior to these quests.

I had tried a week earlier and didn't have enough fame for the first one, let alone 2 and 3.

The secret is the cabbages, or the moss he takes. The sheep hearder in Selbina is your friend. If you are trying to get any fame required quests in Bastok/San Doria/Jeuno please take the time to do a few runs to Selbina first. Makes it so much easier.
I found the cabbage in Bastok for 21 gil each, and you get 100 for 5, so a 5 gil loss per trade. Moss is better if you can get it, as you can carry more, and generally can make money if everyone is not trying to run this quest on your server.
BTW, Teleport to Velkrum helps with this as well.

Good luck

Best way to do it here: Go to your home city, buy all the La Theine Cabbage you can carry, and head for Selbina. Trade 5 at a time to Melvin. This repeatable quest raises fame in San d'Oria, Jueno, and Bastok. GL
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 22 2004 at 1:24 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I got this quest at lvl 22
Yea lvl 32
# Feb 20 2004 at 11:43 PM Rating: Default
Oh and in addition to level 32, I only had 48 total quests done, with only 5 of them in Jeuno.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 20 2004 at 11:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think the level requirement on this quest may be 32, I went 2 weeks trying to get this quest, without gaining a single point of fame. When I got level 32 he gave it to me.

I went from windurst to sandoria to kill the dread dragon, and on the way there I tried gobbiebag 3, but didn't have enough fame to get it going. Note that I had done quite a bit more than 50 quests total between all the coutries when I got rejected. After killing the dragon, I decided to try raising sandy fame a bit more. I bought 7 stacks of bat wings and used them all on the bat wing quest. When I got back to Jueno, I had enough fame for not only gobbiebag 3, but also gobbiebag 4. Again, only the repeatable quest with 12 stacks of bat wings was what raised the fame so much. So I don't think it's quite so much "jueno" fame; fame from other countries seems to have A LOT to do with it.

BTW, it cost me about 65k to do the quest, buying all items from Jueno AH. I'm Slysquash from Pandemonium...

Fame is the key. I wasn't able to get this quest until I was lv 5 Jeuno fame. The easiest way to bring up Jeuno fame (in my opinion) is to do the "Only the Best" quest in Selbina, since it raises both Sandorian and Bastokan fame, thus raising Jeunoan fame quite a bit. Turn in 3 millioncorn or 5 la theine cabbages to the guy next to the sheep in Selbina over and over again. The culinary guild in Windurst sells the cabbages for about 18 gil each (I forget how much the corn is, but it's not much) and the reward is 100 for the cabbages and 120 for the corn, so you can actually break even on this quest. Good luck!
