i did it 2 more times, got one and missed the other. i received a platinum ore (35k) and a lv50 WAR ring (5k)

i did this today with a naked lv32 blm. my first time through, i picked the right size (it was small btw) and i received 1000+ gil, lv50 mnk ring, and a gold ore. all together i can sell for 20k. not bad for 30 min of chocobo and walking.

Got given a choice of 3 boxes, i chose medium, my character is a medium sized mithra don know if it has anything to do with it, but all the boxes dissapeared and another one titles armor box appeared. (WHAT LUCK! Im only lvl 26 i would have had my *** creamed to the floor) i opened it to get Raise II, Sorcerer's Ring, 1836 Gil

Don't even begin to consider trying to kill one of these NM's unless you've got a full party right at the cap. Party configurations should be seriously considered based on the NM that spawns (one of them, for instance, is this nifty bomb-type where you'll actually want a party of 5 RDM/SMN's and yourself to take it down).

Loot is all high-quality, super-rare, and quite desirable. Each orb can be used at all 3 locations, though the monster that you call is different for each location (eg, Giddeus and Ghelsba have different lv40 BCNM's). Loot varies based on orb and location.

The Orbs allow you to enter Burning Circles in order to fight NM.

Here's a breakdown of the drops to the best of my abilities:

BCNM30 (aka BCNM70):
- Job Earrings (lvl70)
- RSE Belts (lvl70)

BCNM40:
- Spells: Ice Spikes, Refresh (Giddeus), Phalanx (Giddeus), Erase (Giddeus), Absorb-STR, Fire Spirit Pact, Reraise (Giddeus Only), Utsusemi: Ni
- Armour: Balance Buckler, Strike Shield, Survival Belt, Enhance Earring, Nemesis Earring, Blitz Ring, Earth Mantle, Tundra Mantle, and 2 Head, 1 Waist, 1 Ring (Not Translated like the others from my source)
- Various jewels will drop (Peridot is Giddeus Only)

BCNM50:
- RSE Belts (lvl50) (Palborough and Grotto)
- Job Rings (lvl50) (Giddeus and Grotto)
- Shadow (Palborough), Transmission (Palborough)
- Spells: Raise II, Regen III, Freeze (Giddeus and Palborough), Quake, Fire spirit Pact (Palborough and Grotto), Light Spirit Pact (Palborough and Grotto), Absorb-STR (Giddeus)
- Misc: Platinum Ingot, Random Ores, Gil

BCNM60:
- Giddeus: Almis Rapier, Spartan Sestas, Dominion Mace, Folstey Axe, Enhance Mantle, Peace Ring, Master Belt
- Grotto: Kabrakan Axe, Salunga, Dragevandiel, Harmelun Flute, Assault Pierce, Specter Kelz, Peace Ring

Take your Comet Orb to the circle in Giddeus, use it and you will be presented with a choice of 3 boxes...Small, Medium, or Large...choose the right box and u win...choose wrong and you will die unless you have a full party or some serious badasses with you. This is the only way to solo an orb.

You obviously think you know a lot more about these than you actually do.

There are several BCNMs (specifically the lev 20 ones) that can easily be soloed by a Summoner.

Learn, then speak.

I just tried this one last night. LVL 30whm/15blm. Star Orb. Kicked the crap out of me. A Rare Monster called Flayer Franz and about thirteen other flesh eaters cast a whole lot of earth-element spells on me before I got into battle mode. Rasp, Slow, Stone II and Stonega II. SO--I wouldn't try this unless you're lvl 40 and have a full party (of lvl 40's). Good thing tho is if you do die, you still have your Star Orb. Also, it seems that all the mobs there are all one element, and you only have to have one orb for the whole party. If you're not afraid of dying, go find out. Nothing to lose but XP.

At Last! Now I know what to do with those crazy Beastman Seals I have been saving for god-knows-what purpose.

The NPC in Port Jeuno is named Shami, he stands slightly behind the awning over the stairs leadind down in (H-8). He's close to the San D'Oria Airship Port.

He'll give you a run down of how many seals to turn in for various Orbs, and tell you the places you can use them. When you receive your orb, it will warn you that in order to participate in that Orb's level of monster, your level will be capped to the appropriate level, much like the Mission for Rank 3 dragon.

I haven't gone to try it out yet, but when I do, I'll try to give an example of what sort of treasure dropped.

The NPC is a fat human named Shami. He is in Port Jeuno at H-8 behind the stairs to the duty-free shop.

I justgot my first orb, lvl 24 and got the Star orb. He also offered me some other orbs for Kindred seals or something else. Cant remember at the moment but ill post detail later. Maybe these were added with the dec. 15th patch?

You may hand in 30 Kindred Seals for a different type of Orb, cannot recall the name. These orbs have a lvl cap of lvl 70. In these battles you may attain your Job Rings or RSE Belts.

I don't have any information on the NM that you will be fighting, and if he has minions with him or not.

it says that you can't get teh same orb twice so...are the orbs reusable or only one shot?

They're Rare EX, so you can't have two at once, but I know from talking to Japanese players that you can do the same BCNM several times. You have to be able to, to get all the drops yourself.

The min level is probably related to the monster spawned, as a LV 40 (capped) monster would still kick the crap out of a lv 21 PC. Just a guess tho.
