To teach the Cardian what it should bring back, you have been asked to find a beetle shell and hecteyes eye. After talking with Kopuro-Popuro, you can either buy the items in the Auction House or get them yourself. It's more fun when you get it yourself. Beetle Shells are found on Stag Beetles either in Meriphataud Mountains or Jugner Forest. Hecteyes Eye are found on Hecteyes in Ranguemont Pass. Hand Kopuro-Popuro a beetle shell and hecteyes eye to receive 600 gil.

You need a lot of fame for this quest.
Rank has NOTHING to do with fame.
Fame is how many individual quests you have done. This one is around 45-50 individual quests for Windurst (Each repeatabble quest is about 1/5 of an individual)

It is not an instant level up or anything, but you can get a point or so for doing the missions, thus rank does add to fame. Just think of it as you doing a quest if it is too complicated for you to comprehend.
