In Defiant Challenge (Limit Break 1)  

I went into the Necropolis and there happened to be 5 lv 75's standing at the door who asked to help me. They killed a lich and it dropped 8 papyrus's! Then we went to CN and 8 molds in one kill omg! And then Garlaige and.... guess what? 8 bomb ash!

Seriously guys, can we get some intelligent posts on here? No one cares about your stories of good fortune. They make everyone feel worse. If you want to make the world a worse place, keep posting them. Otherwise, stfu unless you have something informative to say.

I offten help out with this quest when I'm not bissy or just bord.

But as always the hardest item to get is the Ancient Papyrus.
I must have spent 4 hours in ther trying to get it.
And we was killing fast as well, what with me lvl 70whm and a lvl 70drk and my npc and a lvl 50 rdm.

Best part was my npc lvled up twice.
And I've got skill up on my club XD

this was the easiest quest i've ever had someone else do {/grin}. i got the mold from another pt exping off them, they invited me and let me lot ^^. the bomb coal was easy {Flare II} {Arcana Killer} {Too weak}. the papyrus is hard, i know, but i got it on the second lich O.o and then when i {Escape}d, it was snowing in batallia downs!!! that is the best luck i've ever had in this game, b/c i finished up SMN too ^^.

These people helped for 6 hours, and for free. yet more jp players that lend a hand for the act of helping^^

Tips:
don't reject any high lvl help b/c they're not thieves. easy drops.
offering gil will get more responses, but don't offer more than 10k. i even heard a 68 shouting 10k? seriously? i got help with that for 6k!
Don't quit because you cant get the items. they will come eventually, and if they don't, then accept you're level cap is 50! get them all to 50!
the longest part of this quest was getting 50 btw >.> (2 yrs.)

From what i read you would have better luck getting the drop rate with you have the Quest active.

I'm on Remora Server would anybody thats bored mind helping me get the last 2 LB1 items i need

I did these monsters with several different members of our community. I spent many days trying to get the paper drop. I can tell you from my experience that having a high level thf did me no good. I got these drops without a thf. I had a high lvl thf try to help me with each item to no avail. As many have found out the paper is the hardest to get. I want to thank Raventoe rdm/? and Darknessfury drk/? for finaly helping me with the paper. I spent several long nights trying to get it.

If your NPC-buddy is leveled and you got patience. I'm a casual player and when I'm online I'm leveling my NPC-buddy (and myself) most of the time. I haven't been in a exp-party since my RDM got to level 41. When I hit level 48 with my RDM I thought, well lets kill some Liches mayby I will get the papyrus drop, so after 2 weeks (did also do some other things) and about 20 liches (and some deaths) I got the drop from a VT lich. I did the kills entirely with my NPC-buddy who was level 47 at that time.
Me happy and thinking lets play around in crawlers nest with the Exorays, the first VT Exoray I kill drops the mold :-)
After that I went to Carlaige Citadel. I had only been ther once for a EXP-party in my 30's, a very bad experience indeed (this was before the despawing patch). I went to Banishing gate #1 and when I arrived I saw 3 people standing on the levels so I go standing on the fourth and the gate opens, that went smooth. Now I had to find the explosures, I found them very soon. Tried to find a safe spot and ended up in the intersection between the 2 rooms with explosures. One explosure aggroed me, I killed it and it dropped the coal :-) Then another Explosure aggroed and killed me but I didn't care I got my drop.

I'm now level 49 (almost halfway) and my NPC is now level 48 and I'm happy and don't have to worry about Genkai I again. Now I'm worrying about Genkai II instead, seems alot more difficult to do then the other Genkais.

First I went to GC with a friend. First kill we got drop then I had to gtg and logged on a safe spot. But what I forgot was my Warp Cudgel wasnt rdy and no sneak oils... So I logged on and then a Chamber Beetle aggros me! I get /panic >.< I use invincible then warp out... Then I went to CN with a friend and rammed all the exorays and got drop after a while. Then the nightmare come >.< Eldieme... I got a MNK75 and a WHM59. First a Lich Quaked me for 896dmg(something that) and I died and dlvld.. <.< I got raise and we started kill Liches again. Then I fall down at the skulls in the large rooms! I use my Instant Warp directly lol. I had luck that I had sneak on ^^ Then we went back and killed and killed but no drop... Then the MNK gets a friend, NIN/THF. HE kills a lich and drop lol. I hate that quest.. but hey I got level cap raised!

P.S The MNK said he knewd many that quit playing for that paper, dont do it! It will come someday! ^^

PLD lvl 50.

Completed this quest over the weekend. I'm convinced that a competent party around lvl 50 could obtain the Bomb Coal, and Exoray Mold. The Ancient Papyrus however...

Lemme start at the beginning. I originally obtained the Mold while lvl'ing my PLD in Crawler's Nest at around lvl 46. That was a little while ago, and though it was a tuff fight, it was not impossible. This weekend i sent out a shout in Jeuno looking for help and asking others that might also need it.

All Props to Kimy(RDM), and Littlecharger(PLD). I received a tell from Kimy, and the the two of them agreed to help. Both were 70+. Since I had Mold we started off at Garlaige Citadel. Luckily there was a party camped near first banishing gate, so fourth person was eassy to find, to open gate. Ran down the tunnel to the right, and there were 3 Explosures. Coal dropped on first kill. I honestly believe that like the Mold this would not be impossible fight for a competent party. At lvl 50 the conned "Tough" to me. Back to Jeuno, and out to Battalia Downs.

We ran to the southern most entrance to Eldieme Necropolis. They asked me stay near entrance since the undead swarm here, and proceeded to slaughter Lich's. Now this took a little bit. They killed at least a dozen or so before Papyrus finally dropped. Now the fact that Littlecharger was PLD definitely helped, but even so the Lich's did more damage than the Explosure, or Exoray could have. And this part I think is where a little help goes a long way!!

Anyway, got back to Ru'Lude Gardens and "Broke the Horizon" !!

i dont get the point of this its really hard to get the drops and its also really hard to get help :(

Finally did it to, thanks to Arielis.

We got the bomb coal on the 2nd kill, the mold on the 4th.
The papyrus however was hard!
We didn't get it during the first 90 mins. We both had to log off, so we tried again 2 days later at the beaucidine entrance this time.
Again, no drop during 90 minutes... We were complaining about how ridiculous this was, and then it dropped! lol

Really happy here :P

Alright..this may be a really stupid post..but this puts a rest to all these rumors...YOU MUST BE LVL 50 TO ACCESS THIS QUEST !!! I was lvl 50 going for my coal..got killed by the bomb..and de-lvled..and couldn't access the quest. Sure enough..when i got back to 50 ..I could... so short but sweet..ya gotta gotta gotta be lvl 50 !!!
