You did not have to do Orlando's Antiques, because I still have that quest in log. Don't make assumptions and post on here, as you might misguide someone. Try checking other web sites for references too. You have to wait a game week between each one in the series. If you've waited around 8-9 RL hours, and still can't get the quest, try following the steps again. If it still don't work, you probably need to work on fame. I've had no problems getting these quests, other than the ideas from posts I've read, based on assumptions. Get the facts, then post. End Rant.

Mountain Eruca in Mount Zhayolm drop these like crazy!

I can confirm that you have to do Expertise first. This makes sense, as its part of the storyline.

(For reference, I didn't do Orlando's Antiques - although I've had it open for ages - and I have max fame).

iv waited 1 RL day now, and have hero windy fame ; ;
Still cant activate the quest, so I dont know the time you eventually have to wait.
I'll update the post when I find out...so it aint just a fame thing. You do actually have to wait a set time.

Btw I got my eggs from crawlers in east sarutaburata so Yes, the lower level crawlers drop them. Hope this helps.
(Dont know if this is a fairly recent update, as I never got this drop when I levelled up low level here? Mostly threads, and crawler calculus etc)

To get the correct crawler egg u must defeat a matron crawler. You must kill two other crawlers prior killing the matron.

Crawler's Nest

Step 1

Map 1 - Nest J-9 or F-8
A - Trade Rolanberry to nest
B - Worker Crawler spawns, kill it!
C - Receive Rolanberry 881

Step 2

Map 2 - Nest G-7 or H-7
A - Trade Rolanberry 881 to nest
B - Drone Crawler spawns, kill it!
C - Receive Rolanberry 874

Step 3

Map 3 - Nest D-7
A - Trade Rolanberry 874 to nest
B - Matron Crawler spawns, kill it!
C - Receive Crawler Egg

- - Repeat 3 times. 4 eggs required - -

Trading a regular rolanberry gets a Guardian, not a Worker....

and this information isn't even right for this quest. ._.

While Matron Crawlers may drop crawler eggs, any crawler eggs will do to complete this quest. Dropped from various higher level crawlers or purchased under Food/Ingredients at the auction house. You do not need to kill Matron Crawlers to receive this item.

I think you're getting that confused with Crawler Cocoons, which are a different matter entirely (they're used for synthing silk in high-level clothcraft). Crawler eggs drop off of crawlers in CN.

it could be like the mog house exit quest. she tells you about raising flower but diesn't say she wants one...maybe it's the same? trying giving the eggs to em. if it doesn't work then you "know" the quest has to be activated.

As soon as my fame level in Windy reached level 4, I was able to get this quest. I raised it by doing 25 unique quests and several repeatables, including the sardine quest six times.

I am a San d'Orian with level 3 fame in Windurst and I can't get this quest. I've completed all the previous quests in this series. I also cannot get other quests in Mhaura, such as A Potter's Preference. Since I am about to try for the Mea teleport scroll quest and so will be raising my fame in Windurst to 4, I will check to see if can get this quest then, or must wait even longer. My fame level in San d'Oria and Jeuno is 5; in Bastok, it is 3. I haven't checked it in other areas yet. I have done th repeatable airship quest successfully in Kazham about five times.

Well, I've killed about 15,000 Crawlers in both Sarutabarutas, Tahrongi, Shakrami Maze, and Buburimu. Mostly I kill them to collect the thread. However in all of those 15,000 kills I've never seen a "Crawler Egg."

Where do we acquire the eggs?

I believe you get them in Crawler's Nest. Not the wimpy Newb Crawlers for sure.

Must be fame based then. I got this quest right at 3 hours after previous one. Do Mhuara & Windurst share fame?

I'm guessing this quest has some sort of fame and/or quest completion requirement in order to trigger it.

I've completed all previous Rycharde quests as well as the quest from Take and it's been over 48 RL hours with no trigger on this quest.

I did notice yesterday that I was finally able to trigger the Blandine quest after trying repeatedly and having no success. The Blandine quest seemed to have triggered after I completed the quest from Take as well as a few other quests from Windurst had been completed.

I'm hoping that after completing the Blandine quest (The Sand Charm) that it might raise my fame and/or trigger the beginning of this quest.

I'll try to post once I've managed to trigger it.

Please rate my post if you found it useful.

I would think that in order to obtain this quest, one must have obtain the title of Three-star Purveyor from performing a quest given to you by Take, another NPC in Mhaura.

No, it is one quest in a series of many. Once you complete it, return later and get an entirely new quest.
