Summary

Fill up an empty barrel with Opo-opo brew found fermenting in trees in the Yhoator Jungle, and bring it back to Norg ASAP.

Walkthrough

Talk to Washu in Norg to begin this quest. He will give you the key item Empty Barrel and instruct you to fill it with Opo-Opo brew found in a Yhoator Jungle tree. Head to Yhoator Jungle and examine the ??? at the top center of the (F-8), (G-8), (G-7), or (E-9). Once you find the ??? the key item becomes a Barrel of Opo-Opo Brew.

Return to Washu for your reward, the Scroll: Hojo Ichi.

Ok, I didn't read every post here, so I don't know if this has been said before...

For those of you who wanna do these Norg quests with your mules to get some extra money, fame is not enough. You have to be lvl 10 or higher. I learnt that a while back when I tried doing the mea quest as lvl 8 or so, and I had fame lvl 7 (you need fame lvl 4 to flag mea) >.> But anyway, I flagged all the quests in Norg that I wanted, then I went out to gather items. And since I was done with my mule anyway, I didn't bother with instant warp or anything, I just blood ported. So I come back to Norg, deleveled to 9, to collect my bounty, but that **** woman would not take the brew x.x But since I managed to finish the other quests, I figured it was my lvl she didn't like. So I head out, get lvl 10 back, then return to the opo opo lady. And sure enough, "Oh the texture, the smell.." or whatever she says; hojo quest was done.

Enjoy your new spell :)
Simple really

For any new Ninja's out there I have a little tidbit I'll add to this quests posts.

If you look on your map while searching for this keep one thing in mind. You will see 3 strange looking trees on the map, located in F-8, G-8, and H-8, those are the 3 places I know where the ??? spawns(for sure). I haven't seen it spawn in the G-7 or the E-9 as post in the description given by Alla.

Good luck.

This was so friggin simple... I walked to Norg, choc'ed out to the nearest ??? in Yhoator, and walked back to Norg. WTF is so hard... it's all the luck of the draw and random spawn points.

I zoned into Yhoator on my choco using the second exit from the top in Yuhtunga. Took the first right and the first left and went to the blue dot there. Found a logging point and a ???, got my brew and a maple log. This took all of 40 seconds upon zoning into Yhoator.

First, I didn't know from the quest description until I read further down the page: The ??? spawns where logging points usually do.

Tomoe posted this excellent map:
http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Bingo/1869/MAP-Yhoator.htm
Rate him up, it's extremely helpful!

Second, if you can walk around here without needing Invis to avoid aggro (65+ probably, I'm 70 and everything is {Too Weak}), then bring your logging gear and some axes. Might as well make some money while you run around looking for this thing. And there were three other people looking for it while I was, so I probably missed it a few times.

Lastly, sure it's kind of annoying, but the scroll is a necessity for you if you're a NIN and if you're not then you're getting a good bit of gil for running around. :-)

I had this quest opened and looked for the ??? several times, as a whm with tele-yhoat I wandered around looking for it even with the locations from alla. then one day when heading to norg ??? was there and ding brew aquired. i recommend revisiting the pos listed until it pops. it obviously moves and respawns, and I assume there is a wait time til respawn or the ??? moves fairly quickly. use patience for success.

No. Logging points should say "Logging point". Not "???". This quest seems easy, but that might be because of a level 55 main. Choco or tonko if your below non-aggro level. Good luck ;)

I been going to ever deadend that has those Huge Trees in each of those areas i stated, Are these the trees where the ??? is suppose to spawn at? Or is it one of those type of trees that a logging point can spawn at, or those big plant things in the middle of a fork? Ok, I've often heard people say that there's like "only one or two places" where the ??? spawns, despite what the main guide says and despite what the japanese map offers.

Just wanted to be one to say that the guides are right, there isn't just one or two spawn points. I found mine at: NW of (H-8)

The absolute best bet is to print out this map: http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Bingo/1869/MAP-Yhoator.htm

These are the posible ??? locations of this quest. Check it urself; most of the blue dots are within the areas F-8, G-7, G-8 and E-9 as posted earlier by realmoe. He only forgot (or didn't know) to mention F-7.

I found mine @ upper-right of G-8.

Actually, they are the ??? points. I've used this map and it was right on the dot, and the logging points I found where not the blue dots. :/

For the people who have no clue where Washu is (like myself), she is hiding in the FIRST Oaken Door on your LEFT as you enter the hallway/tunnel up the main stairs. She's in the back right corner of the room.

Little sneaker took me 20 minutes to find her. ><;
