Soloable as a 75 war/nin (Maneater/Joyeuse) using only +22 in evasion gears (O-Hat + Askar Korazin) using the most basic of WAR tatics (kill them before they kill you!).

I used opo and slept to 100TP. Ate coeural sub, use berserk, warcry, retaliation and mighty strikes. 1st Rampage took down 1 Dryad. Ate a icarus wing and 2nd rampage took down another Dryad. Melee to 100TP and by then, 3rd Dryad is almost dead. Melee the 3rd to death. Rampage took the 4th Dryad to about 20% HP and it dies soon after. The rest are easy. From the time I start engage to the time I won took < 3 mins as my berserk is still up when I won.

Their accuracies are terrible. I took 22 hits out of a total of 104 dispite a WAR's brick-like evasion. Each hit is about 45 damage. Didn't even bother to recast shadows once the 1st 3 are taken away. Have about 500Hp left when I won as I used a couple of hi-pots just to be safe. I guess I could have easily gone as WAR/SAM and saved the cash I spent on sleeping pots and icarus wing.

Overall not a difficult fight.

i just did this solo as 70 smn (accidently threw away pants -.-)
Anyway i was gonna ask some ppl to help but i wanted to see if i could solo first
i go Smn70/Blm33 (so i can be cheap and warp myself)
i cast stoneskine and blink with the avatars and go in
I use ifrit and out of curiosity i do Flameing Crush and 1 shot one of the saplings. then i use 2h and i was able to make them all go to like 20% they kill ifrit so i recast ifrit and do another inferno kill the remaing right there
ALOT easier than it was when i had my bro BST 75 solo it lol

Icredibly easy for a BST75/NIN37 to solo. Took a Panzer Galahad with me, Familiar, sent him in first to let them aggro all, then I helped him finish them off one by one. I was not hit once and pet had half of his life left. Could probably solo with CourierCarrie too.
6Dryads Vs 75WHM/35BLM
# Feb 27 2008 at 11:57 AM Rating: Decent
Beat them as 75WHM/35BLM
Decided to use underleveled sub for the sleepga, and the elemental seal, which proved useful.

Got caught out twice in this fight, and didn't go in fully prepared.

First time caught out was casting stoneskin and a sprout smack landed and the push back effect stopped my casting of stoneskin.
Second time I got caught out was when I ran out of MP, with 3 mobs left to fight (1 almost dead). Was fighting using hexa strike and Black halo towards the end, but had been using the AoE on staff attacks and sleepga in combos (building TP, whacking WS out and sleepga again)

Using stoneskin because my MND is astacked so high... 66 base MND +43 MND with Mushroow Stew.

Was swapping between MND gear and evasion gear... evasion gear totalling 31 when I needed to evade for longer periods of time. Very handy for evading when stoneskin needed to be recast.

Forgot to take MP drinks with me, and was too lazy to warp back and get them. Would have made things a lot less risky.

Mobs don't sleep for long, some always managed to resist.... The elemental seal + sleepga held them all for about 1 minute, perfect to run away and rest for MP, they all brok free of the spell at the same time afterwards.

Fight took 19 minutes, would have been faster if i took MP drinks. came close to death twice, so watch out, you might have to benediction in the early stages if the mobs interupt spells too much. Probably better to stick to clubs for the higher damage with the WS rather than the AoE of staves.
Was a purely melee based fight with sleepga and the occasional bind (last part), didn't use MP on -ga spells.

Would suggest that you stack as much evasion as possible, make use of stoneskin and stick to using club for the higher individual damage on a mob (assuming the others are asleep)

i tried using the method described here to pull one dryad at a time (sneak yourself, assault one of the dryads, and release the avatar before it dies for aggro from only one dryad) and i can confirm that it does not work. as soon as we started doing damage to the one i pulled, all of the others started moving in from the top of the level (we were at the lower part of the bend)

the only thing i can think of that might make a differance is MAYBE if the person who did the pulling did not attack the dryad that they pulled, it might not cause the other five to attack.

but i doubt it :D

Soloed as SMN75 using Garuda

I aggroed them by accident - forgot to sneak up. Once Garuda Astral Flowed, they stuck to it and never attacked me again. As you can see, they simply could not hit Garuda, and I didn't have to re-summon it. At the end, I just had Garuda melee the last two Dryads down instead of a third AF.

(Mostly) soloed this as 66 RDM/BLU

Just did this fight as a 66 RDM/BLU (me) and a 50 SMN.

I was a bit worried about this fight, since LillenOfHades claims a 67 RDM can't solo it, and I see everyone taking these big parties with at least one 70+. Besides, tanking six mobs sounded difficult. I figured I'd get interrupted a lot. (I know someone else said a 64 RDM or so could do it easily, but I didn't read most of the second page until after the fight.) It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

I ate tacos and geared for defense, although my defense gearset wasn't great. I think I had 400-something defense; Cocoon helped a lot with that. ;D Hearing that SMN two-hour was great against these, I asked the SMN to two-hour. The response: "I can 2hr once but no drinks x.x" I found that funny. "No drinks? No problem!" I said. "You're talking to a RDM with 60 cooking." I just so happen to carry Yagudo drink ingredients everywhere. XD

As soon as we got in, I cast Protect, Shell, Blink and Stoneskin, then rested to full. I ran up to the "crack" and cast all my other buffs, then just ran in. Now that I think about it, I should've enfeebled them, but for some reason I didn't think of it at the time. The first thing I noticed was that their accuracy was terrible. First thing I saw was every one of them missing me.

Then I remembered my plan had been to cast Blastbomb, as Sabaron said it would work great even as RDM/BLU. (I was forgetting everything >_< Avatar battlefields always make me nervous...) So I cast it and ran. It didn't work as well as he'd said, but it wasn't bad. Turned out I didn't really need it. That's when the SMN two-houred. 807 damage to all of them. >:D We won shortly after the second Inferno went off.

The point of all this is yes, Aleko! (and any other RDMs wondering this in the future ^^) You can solo it. It was actually pretty easy; I don't think I needed the taco.

Solo
# Apr 04 2007 at 6:33 AM Rating: Decent
No, ppl make it sound so easy as they soloed it @ 75. This is the catch, you'll most certainly need utsu ni for this fight if you're gonna solo. I went in as BRD 70 with my bro WAR 70 and we wiped. Mainly because even if we did sleep them, they didn't sleep for long. I don't think you should try soloing this before 74.
easy
# Feb 02 2007 at 8:51 PM Rating: Decent
I soloed this as a Blm/Rdm Taru 75 1/1 it wasn't bad 3 tier III aga spells and 1 tier I or II aga to finish. I probably would have 2hred to finish but I just slept them and rested for a blizzaga II to finish it.

SMN 75 Solo with Ramuh using Thunderspark
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 07 2007 at 8:25 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I just redid this (75 Smn/whm)cause i've upgraded af1 boots to af+1, had to clear all the quests with the npc in Jueno, and toss out staff and spats in order to do those quests again to have them cleared in order to go to Tor. Canal and get my reg boots back (so i can toss it all back on the storage NPC). Already did the staff again, and just owned this... Point of this post is this... Somone posted somewhere below that u can carby pull each one as long as you're sneaked.. then somone else posted they had problems carby pulling, but that they weren't sneaked and was wondering if that was the problem. Well... I buffed up, ran up, sneaked & cast Ramuh (thunderspark owns on this), then i ran right into the middle of all of them. No aggro.... however, as SOON as i hit Assault on one of the dryads, they all hit ramuh, so i hit Thunderspark. 400 dmg to all, paralyzed real well, 1/3 their HP gone. You CAN run up sneaked, but they'll all link soon as you hit one. As far as carby pulling one to the bottom... i don't know if they'll all come for you. They definitely will if u Assault one then hit RETREAT (cause they'll all be hitting carby like they were all on my ramuh). If you hit assault, run down, and Release... idk. They may all come for you, then again maybe not, i wouldn't try it (releasing...) unless you're ready to get out fast (or u got some help, or high enough to take some hits [if they hit u at all]. But if you're high enough (i still had over 1/2 my mp at the end), just thunderspark em. Oh and btw, when i was leveling Smn... I soloed ALL of the Smn af on 75 Pld/nin. Except for the head piece (the first fight anyway....) Ls Rdm came to help me, and cure.
Easy NM
# Dec 23 2006 at 9:00 AM Rating: Decent
This NM is incredibly easy. The Dryads are highly susceptible to Bind. Party:

50SMN/25WHM
69WAR/34NIN
71BLM/35WHM
61RDM/30BLU (me)

I threw Blastbomb praying that I would get at least a couple of them to stay put for a second... They all bound...for the entire duration of the fight--from a Blastbomb on BLU sub level 30. SMN Astral Flowed and only needed 1 pact. They were finished off by -ga and meleeing.
still have my pendulums
# Nov 27 2006 at 2:36 PM Rating: Decent
Should i just throw them out or do i need them later? Inv space is a constant battle for me
Wow, that was kinda hard...
# Nov 14 2006 at 4:56 AM Rating: Decent
Just did this for my SMN AF Legs. Party setup was like this...

WHM75/BLM37
SMN52/WHM26 (me)
RDM47/WHM23

Our plan was to let the WHM go in and ES + Sleepga on the mobs. That went bad as only two of them got slept. He then started to cast Paralyze and Slow on them. Well, they all woke up and came at him. Before we knew it, they ate up his SS. He then attempted to cast another Sleepga, only this time we get 6 "The Dryad resists the effects of the spell!" on our screen.

Seeing how fast they tore through his SS we decide I need to 2hr. I Astral Flow, MRDM casts Refresh on me, summon Ifrit since they are weak to Fire, and let them have it. It was a good thing to have a refresher with us, and I packed some hi-ethers just in case. Popped an ether while I waited for my BP to recharge, WHM did his best to keep SS up, RDM did her best to keep us refreshed.

Two more Infernos later and all the weeds are dead. We also beat the server record on Bahamut with a time of 6m 41s!! We rejoyced and then went straight to Windurst to pick up my new pants!! I look pretty smooth now!!

For those who are going to attempt this for your AF legs, people are not lying when they say they resist sleep pretty well. It was pretty tough with this party setup but we managed to pull it off without any deaths. It was kinda funny considering that you can take up to 18 people inside this fight, yet we did it with only 3. Good luck to anyone going for their SMN AF legs!!

Okay here's the thing. YOU /DO/ NEED TO TALK TO FUEPEPE AND FORAKKU-NORAKKU.

If you do it BEFORE the fight, then you go straight to Koru-w/e for the spats, if you DID NOT TALK TO THEM BEFORE THE FIGHT, you /MUST/ talk to them before talking to the guy who gives you the spats. They MUST be spoken to in order to get them.
I won!

despite the bad stories on here tried to solo this whm/nin, first time didnt go great but second I used my mp a bit more wisely and worked out, I have pretty pimped out melee gear (o hat, rev. mail, purgatory mace, dmg-cape etc) went in Diaga'd them, ran halfway down the ramp and proceeded to take them off one by one, hitting them and getting tp from them hitting me, hexa striking, and repeating. putting up Ni when the timer was down, would cure IV myself whenever I got half - 1/4 hp, they miss alot. ended up 2hring near the end, but made it out with half hp and enough for a cure II.
