Summary

If you want to join the Star Onion Brigade, you had better bring Kohlo-Lakolo some kind of "tail."

Walkthrough

Head to (G-5) in Port Windurst. Behind the two warehouses, you will find Kohlo-Lakolo. Talk to him to start the quest. After a small cutscene is shown explaining the current situation, he will ask that you bring him a Rarab Tail, an item that is dropped by bumblebees. Yes, bumblebees, not rarabs. (Rarab tails are a vegetable, not a tail!)

Go outside and slay some bees until you get this item and once you do, return to Kohlo-Lakolo and receive your Justice Badge.

The first quest was so gay, but i did it with a 10rdm. If you're new to the game, solo or get a pl, your character to at least 10. If you kill the Savanna Rarabs, you will get a rarab drop in no time. I pt'd with my pl and had him slay all the gobs in East Sarabuta, and just lotted for the onions. I got a stack in no time. Then go to Koholo in G-5 in Port Windy, activate quest to get Justice Badge, give the leader the tail for the little girl. Them activate the quests that requires the 4 onions. Retrieve the Scroll for blaze spikes and boom... you're all good. Btw... If you don't alrdy have the Scroll for Blaze Spikes.. this is the cheapest way to do it. Mind you, these quest are gay, but a mithra had to do what a mithra had to do. In AH, Blaze Spikes are selling for 6k-10k now. Talk about crying over onion juice.

I hope this helped.

Btw, before i forget, your extra onions... sell in Ah for 200-500 an onion. You'll like what you get over night.

ppl..ppl...ppl listen
first thing first
log in to ur main character then purchase a stack of rerab tail(in server phoenix:1k-2k) and a stack of wild onions (in sandy:5-7k)or you want to farm them its you're way to do it.
now make a mule and then send 4 wild onions and 1 rerab tail to him (make the home point for the mule in windurst) then take the items with you,go to port windurst and to the warehouses, talk to the kids, when you talk to the leader(standing above the boxes) you will see a cut-scene,he tells you to bring a rerab tail for the girl mother, trade the rerab tail to the leader then a cut-scene will appear.then he gives you the justice badge. after that zone and return to him, he tells you to bring him 4 wild onions, trade him the 4 wild onions then another cut-scene will appear, after that he gives the blaze spikes scroll for the black mage,if you want to make profit...sell the scroll in jeuno or where ever you want,or if you need the scroll keep it with you. but the best thing to do is sell it.

now the $$$ part....after that send back the blaze spikes scroll and the justice badge to you're main character and sell them for 15k-30k i think thats in server:phoenix.

then log out and delete the mule...hehe....now make another one like him (in windurst) and repeat the quest...thats the way i do it....lol

note:the wild onions stand under food (ingridients) in the auction house.
and the rerab tail under food (ingridients) too.
good luck everyone with that.
i hope i have done something useful :)

This quest is the beginning of a series of quests you do as part of the ******'s. It's quite the interesting little storyline to be honest, and the last one yields a very cool neck item for Whm's in the 60's.

If you're getting the "Oath" message, all you have to do is zone I think. I got to windurst waters and fished for a while, and when I got back they gave me the 2nd mission.
Nice to have

very easy quest, just some running

the badge comes in really handy, i'm still wearing it at lvl 25
Easy Info
# Jun 26 2004 at 5:39 PM Rating: Decent
I did this with a level 1 monk and a level 1 thief. Since it drops off of bumblebees I would assume any level 1 character can obtain this item even though you can't really use it until level 7.

I have a level 10 BLM and haven't done many quests, but then I found out if I want the blaze spikes spell I need to do quests to get it.
I'm really glad you guys are posting all this info about this quest, otherwise I'd be going in blind and probably give up in frustration.

2nd quest
# Nov 21 2003 at 5:55 PM Rating: Default
I've finished the first quest but don't know how to get to the next one. I talk to him but all he talks about is the oath. Do you have to do smoething special?
Badge Worth
# Nov 16 2003 at 3:47 AM Rating: Default
Badge also sells for aprox 1.5K Gil. (this is on Kujata server, but might not be correct on other servers)
RE: Badge Worth
# Dec 01 2003 at 7:12 PM Rating: Default
This is based on AH prices? In Leviathan it's worth around 3,000.
RE: Badge Worth
# Dec 03 2003 at 5:22 AM Rating: Default
A bit more expensife on Ifrit but wel worth it for a low lvl RDM/WHT healer (+MND=Better heals).
RE: Badge Worth
# Feb 17 2004 at 10:53 PM Rating: Default
Not to mention more potent debuffs and buffs, making it great for RDM, and even decent for a BLM.

My home town is Bastok. Could I run over to Windurst and do this quest? Or do you need to be a resident of Windurst?
RE: help
# Nov 25 2003 at 2:30 PM Rating: Default
I am from Bastok and I did the quest. You don't have to be a resident there.

RE: ????
# Nov 06 2003 at 7:05 AM Rating: Default
you have to select/target the NPC and then go to the main menu and select Trade. Then place 1 Rarab Tail inside and select OK.
Correction
# Nov 04 2003 at 4:38 PM Rating: Default
Proper title of this quest is
"Truth, Justice and the Onion Way" ... and is the pre-requisite for "Know One's Onions"
Information Correction
# Nov 03 2003 at 10:32 PM Rating: Default
It's a rabab tail, not a rabbit OR a rat's tail. These drop off bumblebees. They also can be purchased by a vendor for around 20 gil. Vendor can be found by the pier in Port Windurst (which is extremely close to where you originally get the quest)
more quests
# Nov 03 2003 at 2:27 PM Rating: Default
Are there any more Star Onion Brigade quests to do after this one? When I hail the leader kid, he tells me that i now have to learn their oath. Does anyone know what to do next?
RE: more quests
# Nov 04 2003 at 2:07 AM Rating: Default
yes there are more quests. At least one that I know of that involves getting 4 Wild Onions for the leader. As I haven't gotten 4 yet I'm not sure what the result is.
