Im a rng63/thf15 to do this, got 2 stacks of lizard skins, 5 stacks of lizard tails and 3 stacks of lizard eggs, used @8 stacks of wooden arrows, 3 hours of nonstop killing lizards and still no drop!!!!

In-Game TextDescriptionRauteinot asks you to bring him a slab of Elshimo marble (Rare/Ex). This is a rare drop off of Ivory Lizards found throughout Yuhtunga Jungle. Trade the Elshimo marble to him and he will give you a key item called Rauteinot's parcel. Bring Rauteinot's parcel to Mulaujeant in front of the Blacksmith's Guild in Northern San d'Oria. Wait several hours (earth time) and Mulaujeant will give you a key item called Sublime statue of the Goddess to give to Rauteinot. Return to Rauteinot in Kazham and you will receive your reward, a scroll of Teleport-Yhoat. The following real life day after midnight Japan time (11am Eastern / 8am Pacific) is when your teleport scroll reward will be ready for you by the NPC. I found the best place to look for this marble is in the tunnel that runs between i-7 & j-7 in Yuhtunga Jungle it is a tunnel were only lizzards spawn. My party was composed of a level 32 rng/thf, level 31 blm/rdm and level 44 whm/blm. We got 2 marbles in 3 hours. I don't remember what day it was or about this moon phase voodoo. anyway we only had one close call the whole times with lizards linking.
I got my drop yesterday soloing as a 51blm/25whm. Estimated it took me 20 lizzies but it was hard to keep track with all the mp regeneration after each battle. It was not raining when I got the drop, Waxing Gibbous 67%, don't remember what day it was. Got my drop shortly after a long rainstorm actually....

Me and a few of my LS buddies went out to get this item so a couple of us could get the scroll. we had 30drk/thf, 40brd/thf, 55Drg/thf, 48bst/pld, and a 37whm/blm. We needed 3 drops total, got them in about 20 minutes. One droped after about teh 10th liz, then the other 2 followed right after.
Hooray! Got it second kill after it started raining. Lucky for me it was only raining for like 2 minutes.

With my party (3 Lv 55+) we were pushing 0/50 drop rate. After disbanding, I got it in 6 kills. Maybe having a Party really makes the drop rate suck or maybe it's just law of averages.

There might be something to that trying to get items in a pt. Me and 2 friends were getting yaguda necklaces in giddues in a pt and training about 5-10 each and there would maybe one necklace after killing them. But when I go in there by myself seems like every other yag I kill would drop one.

Could a 46rdm/15thf Hume solo these? Could possible get a 52 monk to help but I was wondering if I could solo them
Sure you can solo them at that level. You'll have a bit of downtime, but with convert/refresh it probably won't be too bad. The biggest problem is that it will take you a long time to kill the beasts, and, as you can tell from reading here, you will probably have to kill a large number of them.
A few LS mates and I were going for this quest. We needed two drops and after several gours of trying we started getting discouraged. We roughed it out for several hours and finally on Darksday two dropped within 5 lizard kills. It was:

30 minutes. 2 drops. Not sure the weather/day/moon. Was 50WHM/BLM (me) and 50MNK/WAR. But today I went out there with 57WHM/BLM (me), 41RDM/BLM, and 61DRG/WAR. We were out there for 6 hours and no drop so I have no idea what it goes by. Didn't check weather/day/moon today, either but I will when I go back out there today.

not sure what Kazham fame is based on, but I'm only level 4 fame in Windy, and 0 in every other country, and I was able to get this quest.

YAY got the drop today .i was a white mage/summoner. lol took me very long to get the drop. lizard hate me......

Spent hours camping this in 2 different sittings. Had a 60 THF helping me, and 2nd time we had a 64 RNG as well. a long time passed before anything, then it started raining and we got 2 drops within 10 minutes. the rain might actually make a difference.
is this quest repeatable?
Getting a bit Discouraged here, I've racked a total of 9 hours with 2 attempts (7 of those hours with TH2, the rest without) Not a single drop. I'll be going back out as soon as I can convince somone to go. ;^^ I cant even fathom the number of lizards weve killed, as the THF I was with was 1 hitting them with sneak attack and the rest only took 2-3 rounds. I just chased him around and healed him/avoided gobbie aggro.

what can i do to raise a correct fame to get the quest from him? i heard doing the passenger quests 10 times will give me kazham fame? so he'll give me the quest, but nope. He still wont offer me it -_-; any advice someone? ^^;;

Kazham fame is tied to Windurst fame. There are many repeatable quests there to choose from; take your pick. ^_^
Went out there with 49 whm/24 blm and me (38 blm/19 thf). No rain. Started a little into Lightsday and almost all the way through Earthsday if my memory serves me right. Didnt check the moon though. However...no drop and so far 0/43. She had gone our there the previous night with a 65 drk/32 thf friend and got the drop in 8 kills. ;( Going to go out there again and see if my luck changes...wish me luck ^^.

Still no drop today after a crap attempt. Sooo, now 0/63 or so. This time I went out there as blm/whm instead of blm/thf. There is a sure difference in the amount of drops you get. We got one lizard tail out of all the kills. As oposed to the last time when I alone came away with a stack and a half of tails, 6 lizard eggs and 3 lizard skins. But we did kill alot more lizards the first time. I am begining to wonder if there is a certain area that you need to kill these things to get the drop.

This is hearsay as I have not done this myself, but all of my friends that did this quest got the drop when it was raining. A small coincidence considering it is almost always raining there. Something to consider though.
got the drop on the first kill.
I used my galka 63 monk with a THF sub to get this item for my taru whm (at 37 atm). I started the quest and got the drop on the 42nd Ivory. It took about an hour.

Did this quest as a 42whm/blm with a 44drk/thf and another whm/blm.. Took us about 2hrs total to get 1 for each of us.. I'm not sure if Treasure Hunter helped or not but I believe it did after reading some of your posts.. I kept count on the number of ivory lizards we faught and we got a drop every 12-15 fights..

So I go for my 3rd time to the jungle. Already have killed 50+ lizzies (over the period of 2 previous visits). Mind you, I attempted the first time in June, so I haven't really TRIED too hard. LS makes fun of me for going again, I use my bard/whm, and get drop on 2nd kill. Heh, got the drop the same day my personal Erase scroll sold and our BCNM40 money came in. Can anyone say Jester's Cape +1?

1. I had a lvl 75 drk/whm kill lizzards for about 2 hours with no drop. She changed to lvl 53 thf and we got it in 5 mins. TH2 really helps.
2. Waiting "a few hours" for statue to be finished is a complete lie. It takes anywhere from 24-48 real life hours for him to be done.

I got help from my 75rdm friend. After 1-2 hour of killing Lizzies we got zero drop. Just yesterday I went there by myself as 62blm/31whm. sub Whm so I can have minimal downtime. Killed for 3 hours and got no drop. I am beginning to hate this quest...

Okay, don't hate me but here is my story. Got bored and decided to try my luck at this drop hoping to kill time before I went to bed. Went to jungle, killed to lizzies, got the slab. Easy beans :O)
