Description

She says to take a "bunch of wild panamas" to the volcano and journey up to the crater. There find an alter that they have made, place the offering on the alter, and shout your name to the crater so the guardian will hear.

Once you place the Wild Pamamas at the alter in Ifrit's Cauldron return to Hari Pakhroib (I-11 in Kazham).

Step by Step Directions in IC

Ok i read the 1st few of these posts and they got me lost so lets make this simple.

Once u are rdy to give the Wild Panamas in, u need to hand them to the "Alter of Ashes" in Ifrits Cauldron.

Do use the Eastern Entrance from the Yhoater Jungle, as mentioned before bombs agro sight and magic, and u can quite rightly avoid any flame spouts.

this is a very easy run. Heres the Directions:-

Enter from the Eastern Yhoater Jungle entrance. (these first few turns are all very close so careful not to get all confuzzled =)

-U will need to head north just a little then u will take a left (heading West)

-U will reach a T Junction, take the left (head south)

-Follow the path u will be forced to take a right which will lead u too another T Junction. Again take the left (once again heading south)

-Follow the path, this will comprise a right, then another right and a left. at this point u should now be at G-9. and see a open area in front of u. if u are here congrats its simple from here.

-Head Northwest and u should spy a tunnel, there is a bomb in the tunnel be warned but by now u should be used to them around u. Enter this tunnel and follow it. It can only go one way.

-Once outside turn left (head south) u should be able to see the alter of ashes from here. Very simple.

The hard part comes when trading the Wild Panamas. There are 2 bombs in this area, i was able to trade while their backs were turned just wait for your moment to drop invis and trade fast.

Then have some kinda warp or escape on standby jic u pull agro and cant solo it ^^.

Hope this was alittle clearer.

Lodowian of Asura.

for those of u with a map its pos is around H/I-9 just enter from the eastern entrance as said and turn every LEFT as said in the post lower down not right as posted in another post, it is over looking the magma center and IS patrolled by a bomb with others close by in the tunnels so take care

Easy way to Quest ^^

This is really easy, enter from the eastern entrance in Yhoater Jungle. Use sneak oils and invis powders, if not a whm, but remember the bombs agro to casting and they have a really long sensory range. Bombs also agro to sight.
Don't worry about the ice clusters unless you want to explore*. There are no flame spouts along the path that I describe to the altar.
Take the first right, then the next right. When you come to an open area, head straight across to the tunnel you see in front of you. Then just follow that path to the altar :). Easy Easy ^^. And no you dont have to shout your name unless you feel like it <(^-^)>
Then go back to Pakrhoibs and talk to her to collect your 5k. After finishing the quest you must zone from Kazham before you can get it again.

*If you want to pass a flame spout you have two options: 1. wait until it goes down, this can take up to 15 min. or 2. trade an ice cluster to it. Remember though, the flame spouts are usually gaurded by Bombs that agro to sight. And you must be visible to trade the ice cluster. It's a dangerous game to wait until the bomb has turned its back, trade, then reivis with prism powders. But it can be done.

The title you get after finishing this quest is "Kazham Caller".

repeatable

Supposedly this quest is repeatable by trading Wild Melons, Wild Pineapples, and Wild Pamamas...

There should really be a quest note here - these are a drop from Opo-opos, and are not just your regular run of the mill Pamama.

They probably tell you to take Ice clusters to kill the flame spouts down. By trading an ice cluster to flame spout, they're supposed to go away, never tried cause I have patience.
Ice? Shout?

If you talk to the NPC again after getting the quest, they tell you to shout your name after placing the offering. Another strange possible requirement is that when they give you the quest, they tell you to carry an Ice Cluster or 2 on you to get to the alter.

Well, I got my cluster, got my Wild Pamamas (from killing Young Opo-opos in Yuhtunga), and headed to the alter. I traded the Wild Pamamas to the alter, shouted my name, and nothing happened. Then I returned to the quest NPC and got the 5k reward.

The shout may or may not be quest-related, but the Ice Cluster recommendation is what really interest me. Does carrying an Ice Cluster affect certain mobs? I got bomb aggro a ways beyond the alter, so maybe I needed more ice. ;)
Altar
# Feb 10 2004 at 3:54 PM Rating: Excellent
In case this helps ...

The altar is in Ifrit's Cauldron on the top level (you need not pass through the Falme Spout to get to it).

Upon entering from the eastern-most entrance to Ifrit's Cauldron, simply take every left that you can take until you reach an open area. Go through the cave, and you will reach a path along a cliff on the inside of the crater. The Altar is on this path.

If you enter from the western entrance, I believe that all of the paths lead to this location, so it doesn't matter which way you go.

I have not completed this quest, so I have no idea what happens once you offer the item to the altar.
