Description

There is no longer a level restriction for this BCNM battle. To begin the encounter, have a party member trade a Laksis Orb to the Burning Circle in Qu'Bia Arena located at K-8 in Fei'yin. This will teleport your party into the battlefield.

Once there, you will have a choice of six magic pots to encounter. Each pot specializes in spells fitting the pot's element. Attack the one you want, and the other 5 will disappear. You have 30 minutes from entering the zone to defeat the pot of your choice in order to obtain any treasure.

In addition to the linked treasures, you may receive Gil, Gems and trade skill items.

we did this wif 3 people runs took 5-6 min. 2X sumoner and i went redmage.

Summoners call garuda and use bloodpact and pick the earthen pot, i cast refresh and element seal paralyze to help mess up the pots spell, smn had to call gaurda 2 during fight and its over. we did 3 runs pretty easy stuff but nobody got rich off it maybe best run 500k.
Just few notes...

We did this 9 times last night, few pointers that I don't think anyone has mentioned yet:

-If your party does wipe, once the pot goes back to yellow it looses aggro and you can reraise. Also, it won't aggro to anything at all unless attacked, we wiped on the first run as we didn't have any experience with this, WHM raised us all while still in the circle and again we went. 30 minute time limit is more than enough to rest to full again and finish it.

-We mostly fought the fire pot as its additional effect spells were pretty harmless ones, it just uses blaze spikes and enfire. We tried thunder pot on an earthsday, but shock spikes were an utter pain stunning the melees even though it was otherwise weak.

-The fire pot was nearly impossible to silence, got it to land on it once and wore off almost immediately. Easier to treat it the same way as Hakutaku and just stun the worst spells. You can however enfeeble it otherwise; Paralyze was especially helpful often interrupting its own cast and it's easily bound/gravitied.

-We had NIN tank and 2 stunners (rdm/drk and blm/whm). When fighting it we just used stun to stop the -ga IIIs, utsusemi absorbs flare and fire IV anyway. When it 2-houred we had ranger Shadowbind and everyone run like hell out of range while both us mages would stun as well. On occasion ninja bit a -ga III and dropped before getting out of range, but we raised him asap, kept pot bound/gravitied and once its 2-hour wore off went at it again. Dream combo for this to make it super easy I'd say is NIN tank, WHM, 2xDRK, RDM/DRK or BLM/RDM and a RNG. Just to have as much melee damage and stun/bind/gravity in one party as possible and Shadowbind is great to have.

-On any of our runs we didn't see it use Chainspell more than once each fight and it uses it fairly early on. That is not to say it won't use it several times, but our fights were over super fast. It's very weak to melee damage, the ninja was hitting it hard and we had DRG and RNG as main DDs. As long as you can keep them all alive and hasted the fight itself is over in less than 2 minutes. Party consisted of 73nin/war, 75rdm/drk, 73drg/war, 75whm/smn, 73blm/whm and 70rng/nin. It has super high resistance to magic, on one run the BLM manafonted out of curiosity and out of about 15 heavy nukes only one landed for full effect.

We got a ton of cheaper items and two scrolls of raise III for the linkshell white mages to use. Hope this helps someone. =)

Did this last night with 5 other BSTs: 75, 75, 74, 73 (me), 72, 71.

So very easy.

We used CourierCarrie and FunguarFamilair and fought the Water Pot.

Just have to use the exact same strategy as Celery.

A nice, relaxing fight, although I got a crap drop. One BST got the Damascus Ingot, while another got the Damascene Cloth. Lucky bastards. :)
70+SMN

This is the easiest KS for Summoners... Did it with 4 SMN. All summon Titan attack Thunder Pot, and Mountain Buster away! Thunder spells will just bounce off titan and Mountain Buster > pots. Have to watch AoE though... I died becuase Thundaga III did 690ish through Stoneskin and 50ish Thunder resist. (damn taru HP) All drops were crap though =\
Would day affect the pots, I wonder...

This is something that popped up from my experience with

- crafting,
- trial size avatar battles, and
- an incident on Darksday when my [Divine Seal] + [Cure IV] did less than the usual 700HP.

Would fighting certain pots affect the amount of DMG dealt by certain spells?

From my experience with the trial size avatar battles, it's ideal to fight the avatar on the day their element is weakest to (e.g. Shiva on Firesday, Ifrit on Watersday, Ramuh on Earthsday, and etc.). I know some certain days I refuse to craft, mainly because I'll succeeed more than I SU. Also, [Cure] is a light-based spell, and I noticed it did significantly less when I was curing on Darksday.

If this is the case, wouldn't is be ideal to go against an Earth Pot on Windsday? Also, as pointed out earlier, [Silence] is a wind-based spell, and earth is weak against wind. Then, again, isn't the whole [Element] Pot just stating what spells it'll cast and not exactly what element it is? Magic Pots are light-based mobs... (>_>)

Guess I'll have to save up on Beastmen Seals and find out the hard way.
I WILL have a Royal Cloak with my name on it!

Wouldn't Stonega III the less DMG-dealing of all the potential Element-ga III spells? I mean, in order that BLM learn those Element-ga III spells is:

Stonega III
Waterga III
Aeroga III
Firaga III
Blizzaga III
Thundaga III

Then, again, S-E tends to be "evil." (^^;)

Also, [Blink] vs. [Stoneskin]... Blink negates all DMG, physical or magical, while [Stoneskin] negates physical DMG, so... wouldn't the Earth Pot be the ideal choice compared the the Air Pot? Yeah, thanks to the recent update, you can wipe out [Blink] with a simple [Diaga], but I was just wondering.

Stoneskin does prevent magical damage. As a WHM, I use Stoneskin on Mobs I can easily solo for Farming ETC and use Blink for EXP Parties or BCNMS, or like in Promyvion Holla when I had to tank the boss..don't ask how that happend ;) but we won lol.

Stoneskin actually prevents all damage, period :D Its pretty useful.

The first time I took my RDM/DRK out, used Stoneskin, Souleater + Vorpal Blade and it wiped my Stoneskin out instantly.

I did this with a group of 5 other people. pld, me (brd), whm, smn x2, and rdm/smn. Here's what we did, with very minimal death, might I add.. The first smn goes ahead, summons Garuda, and lets it attack the Air Pot. The group should hang out in the hallway just before the main room where you found the pots. Wait til Garuda's HP is down to about 50% before the next smn summons its Garuda. Rinse and repeat. The rdm/smn also slapped around the pot with his Garuda. If the tactic worked, then the pot shouldn't even come close to AOE range. One of the taru smn did die because he wasn't far enough from that AoE. hehe..

With this strategy, each fight took about 5 minutes. The Whm did get a damascene cloth, while my orb was lucky enough to get Raise 3! Other drops included Philosopher's Stone, and Petrified Wood.

Damascus Ingot and malboro fiber also drops from this BC, having just gotten these doing them.
Oops?

I remember getting a philosopher's stone and a damascene cloth from a couple of these fights.

how offten does this spell drop from the level 70 bc?
it'd be silly to use up 70 bc for chance to get it.. if you're in for the money..

that's if the drop rates are like erase for level 30 bc w.
SMN Solo
# Nov 03 2004 at 6:53 AM Rating: Decent
i heard this can be soloable by lvl73-75 SMNers... ensured if they bring along RDM just for refresh or they can use drinks...im guessing they treat it like 1v1 avatar battle...?
BCNM

These things are nasty, we picked the air pot and did 6 sucsessfull runs on it, but our melees died a lot of the time. With carol and baraera up to about 140 wind resist, aero4 hit our warrior for 1280 dmg, this can be stunned, so bring a blm or drk along. the pot doesnt hit that hard melee wise, i think about 70-80 dmg to our 71 pld.

The whole fight is really easy, untill it uses chainspell. The best tactic is to just stun it when it uses chainspell to buy yourself a few seconds, it can either spam spells like choke, or it can get nasty and do aeroga4 > tornado, which really hurts, i would bring a nin tank for this, as the spells the pot cast do much more dmg than normal mobs would do. The air pot we did also resisted all attempts at sleep and silence.

Take the Suzaku strategy and have a 74+rdm/37drk chainspell stun.

These Pots can use Chainspell multiple times during battle, so yes they can be very lethal.
Hmmm...

Well, I can't see it being too bad Bar-element-ra and Carol of the corresponding element to the pot, and other than that just a basic pt to fight it. Then again, I'm just speculating, I'm not sure how hard their melee hits or anything.

The correct spelling is Lachesis, named after the Greek fate who measured the thread of life. Good luck dying against the cursed pottery everyone!
