SummaryThe trick box you brought back to Norg has been identified as a fake. Your assistance is required in finding the real box. Start your search by pressing Ensetsu in Bastok for more information. WalkthroughNote: You must have completed the quest 20 in Pirate Years - NIN AF1 before you can get this quest. First, buy or farm an Oak Pole, which you will need to complete this quest. Edit: I'm stupid. I was looking at the wrong AF quest. I won't be trying when my NIN is level 40, but I'll probably be 55+ RNG when my NIN is 50.
Silly question...
Did it spawn the first time you got on the boat at midnight, or is it one of the random NM spawn shennanigans that can leave you pulling your hair out?
Also, do you know if you have to have NIN as main to get the drop, or can you do it with another job? (I have a 52 PDN friend and I'm a level 50 RNG...by the time I get NIN to 40, I'm hoping we can brutalize it with just the two of us and still get the drop)

How many level 60's (plus level 50 Ninja) would you say would be needed for this battle? Also, does the sea horror always spawn at this time or just sometimes?
No level 60's required, the highest members in our party were level 55 when we took our resident ghetto tank (her title >.>) to get her AF2. The NIN was the only tank, and the fight only took about a minute or so.
There were seven of us in total:
50 NIN/WAR
51 THF/NIN
55 RDM/WHM
55 RDM/BLM
55 MNK/DRK
55 MNK/DRK
53 WHM/BLM
As you can see, not a lot of PT variety, lol. I'd say a solid party 50-55 would be able to take it down.
Sea horror does not spawn all the time, thankfully he didn't spawn when we ran up to kill the NM. Since the ghost pops on deck, it might be wise to have the WHM/RDM in your party sneak up, run up deck, cure pull and run back down in the event of a sea horror pop. Whether or not this will save you? I have no idea, but it's worth a shot.

My friends helped me on this and their jobs/lvl were: DRK 58/59 (forget) RDM 59 DRG 52 NIN 57 BLM 50 (acted as healer). The Engakure died in very little time due to the nuking of RDM spells along with the melee dmg by the other jobs.
This is easily done with a 6 person lvl 50s group. More than one ninja can do this too, you have to be at this step. All ninjas in the group or alliance will get the cutscene and the item. Ninjas unite...make it easier on yourselves.
I ran into the enagakure once on the ship. it is NM ghost but it isnt that tough.
The NM target isn't the Sea Horror as the sidebar says. It's a Ghost type called "Enagakure". I don't know level or stats for it. Additionally the Oak Pole is level 40, not 43
