Such an easy quest, and the belt is now worth 50-60k on most servers. @_@

Fame 1 Level 12 Windhurstian citizen did not receive this quest.
Same character +60 min Earth Time, + 0 xp, + fame from bat wings turned in to Secodiand North S'D F6 (Repeatable Q: Fear of the Dark) = Fame 2 as checked at South S'D K6: Namonutice, who said, "<Character Name>? Hmm..." DID receive this quest.
Indubitably, Windhurstian, almost certainly, Bastokian, and probably, San D'Orian citizens require Fame 2 in San D'Oria to receive this quest.

Attention:
Fame for Sandy and Bastok can be EASILY obtained by turning in Boyahda Moss (or La Theine cabbage, or the corn stuff) to the man by the sheep in Selbina. He pays you 600 gil per moss, this is very close to what you pay at the AH. I turned in 42 pieces of moss and I had enough fame in Jeuno (some formula from your Windy, Sandy, and Bastok fame) to recieve Gobbiebag #1 and #2. It's very easy and I would strongly recommend it.

ok u can do that but it will totally destroy your norg fame, your better of just doing the repeatables in san'd'oria bastok and windurst which are very easy.

Well double, meaning two... and post meaning a group of letters, numbers, and words in a message board... one could assume a double post is... two posts.

Duh.

Well, on my server (cerberus) it cost somewhere between 4K and 5K. So I was thinking, if i spend that money on buying stacks of bat wings and then trading them to that dude who wants 2, would that generate enough fame to get the quest?

-frank out-
fame!

Amen to that.... this quest is way easy... i have 0 Alchemy, made 2 on first two attempts, the and reward is great

for those of you don't know, yes, this quest is fame related, but also, if you haven't finish cheval water quest that gives out at the door you cannot trigger any of the quest in the church, FYI
RE: Easy Questing

For Your Information:
This quest is fame related, but you do NOT have to complete the water quest (given at the door) to activate ANY of the cathedral quests. IT'S FAME BASED!

Each unique quests equals 1 fame. Each repeat quests equals 0.5 fame. You do the math.

In my experience, any time you finish any quest, unique or not, you get +1 fame. I know, for example, that I was able to get the quest for Drain after about 25 quests, which is roughly in line with what other people had said. I did a repeatable quest for most of that (Bat wings)

Wow's.. this is a relatively easy quest.. I wonder why I never looked it up before spending the cash on my rope.

To answer the previous question, LVL 0 Alchemy is required to make beeswax. So anybody can do it. Distilled water is found all over from vendors. In sand, the fruit vendors sell it, if their regions aren't under beastman control, otherwise the grocery store sells it and I believe the bar does too.

In wind, I usually buy distilled water from the npc in across from the culinarian's guild. I forget the name of the building. It's in that same area though. 11-12g per water...
alchemy skill ?
# Jan 25 2004 at 7:26 PM Rating: Default
how high does your alchemy skill have to be in order to sucessfully make the beeswax ?

When i first started playing, i noticed that these cost like 8k? This was in bastok but are they still worth that much, or has word of mouth let everyone know how rediculously easy this is to get?

Worth It?
# Jan 09 2004 at 6:51 AM Rating: Default
Is this worth it for Bastokian or should I just buy it in the AH?
hmmm

Ugg, this Rope is a godsend for WHMs! Unfortunately, I already bought it in the AH in Windy. Damn, wish they had this quest in Windy! or that I knew about this one sooner.

Tradeskill is Alchemy, and as lexibillion said, Tahrongi Cactus + Lightning = Distilled Water
RE: where is it
# Dec 03 2003 at 3:58 PM Rating: Decent
There are a variety of shops in each of the kingdoms that sells it, plus you can use a Lightning Crystal on Tahrongi Cactus to get Distilled Water.
RE: where is it
# Aug 18 2004 at 1:13 PM Rating: Decent
teh cost of a lightning crystal is much much higher than just paying 11 gils for some water... so unless you happen to have both ingredients, you can still save monay just buying it from vendors
Where can these be found?
# Nov 30 2003 at 8:17 AM Rating: Default
Under alchemy in the AH, they are just called beewax though.

I came to San'doria with 14 quests completed from Bastok. Alas, he did not give me the quest.
I did not recieve this quest until I had completed at least 10 other quests in San'doria. So for correction, it's not 14 general fame, it's 10-11 fame from San'doria.

I'm a 12 white mage mithra from windhurst. I ran from there to San d'oria (taking the boat from mhura to selbina, then hoofing it the rest of the way.)

I ran there to do this quest, ha!

It was not until I had 15 quests done in san, over last night (whew...) that this guy finally gave me the quest. I think I tried around 12 or just before and he still would not.

Luckily, there are quests UP THE WAZOO ;) in San. Just walking around the street I'd talk to an npc and get one. Or I went in a bar and some guy had one for 5 hare meat, which I had in my mog safe from windhurst.

oh, anyone notice how the rent a rooms are FAR better than your lil mog room? They have tons of stuff as decor which would cost you a lot at home..ahaaha. Of course, the moogle does not use any of it, its just decor (like if you have a stationary set at home, he'll make scrolls.)

The reward is a Friar's Rope.
ROPE not ROBE
# Nov 05 2003 at 1:00 AM Rating: Decent
Yeah..it's not a robe..its a ROPE..and u gotta be level 14 to use it
Hmmm
# Nov 04 2003 at 12:34 AM Rating: Default
You positive that the reward for this quest is a robe? I did a different quest, and I got the robe, while another website listed the reward for this as: Friar's Rope.
