SummaryLeepe-Hoppe wants you to take on Carbuncle's request to gather the six "whispers," then pay a visit to the Full Moon Fountain... WalkthroughYou must collect 6 whispers from each of the 6 Prime avatar battles. Do not speak to the battle NPC or they will take your whisper. Bring them to Leepe-Hoppe and he will give you a key item: Moon Bauble. This will allow you to go into Full Moon Fountain and battle with Fenrir Prime. Upon defeating Fenrir Prime, return to Leepe-Hoppe and collect one of the following prizes:

I am fairly sure I have level 7 fame and I have got the Moon Bauble so... o.O.. I assume you just need the same fame as you need to fight Ifrit and Ramuh... >.>.
I was not able to get Ramuh with lvl 5 fame, but I was with lvl 6 fame.
I can get this quest with level 8 fame (1 level before hero)

Got it as a higher level job; you don't have to be a summoner to fight Fenrir, let alone gain the reward Fenrir Pact.

Why the hell isn't there a solo battle for fenrir!!?? I solod all the rest of em, why can't i solo fenrir? what makes him so god damn special? Seriously. Theres no reason why there shouldn't be a solo battle for fenrir. and if there was one i'd kick fenrirs *** just like i kicked all the other avatars asses.

Fenrir is the "reward" for having a high leveled SMN (or other job). A way to tell if the summoner is quilified, so to say.

Er sorry LoL Anyways just talk to the NPC again and assuming you have all the required items and enough fame you will also recieve the Fenrir quest

Ok, I got the six whispers but when I go to talk to the taru Leepe-Hoppe, he gave me the quest "Tune in" but, he never gave the "Moon Bauble". Can someone please tell me what step am I missing.

Change to Summoner Main Job and talk to him again. This exact thing happened to me, talk to him twice. Once to get the quest and again to get the bauble

Actually if you simply zone and then come back he will give you the quest. Fenrir and the Moon Babble have nothing to do with being summoner as main job.

Posted: Jul 28 2005 at 3:22 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this is a tough fight unless you have a good line-up, we went in with blm/rdm, whm/smn, pld/war, brd/whm, sam/rng, and rng/nin. when we went in the pld voked and the blm/rdm cast gravity, its a dark based spell so he didnt know how well it would stick but it did stick and lasted a long time. the pld kited, while the sam and the rng used ranged attacks on it, and the brd kept dark carol up, when fenrir was halfway dead he used his two hour which we all managed to survive because of the dark carol that was on, and the whm used benediction, after that it was a free for all and we killed him pretty easily. the fight took 12:55 but we killed him first time out the gate with this line-up, i'd been in 4 pts with other line-ups and they all failed.
Gravity is Wind based. It's icon is green, and Wind elementals cast it.

I did Fenrir about 4 months ago as my lvl 62 Bard..we did just fine with the set-up we had

But i was wondering since the last big update when they gimped rngs and nins....could a Nin still tank this bad boy??

When you go into the Full Moon Fountain to fight Fenrir and if you lose the fight you do "NOT" lose the Moon Bauble, and are able to go right back in after the Raises and full health is regained. Hope this answers your question ^^

I just did this today as lvl 60rng/30nin. Went to battle with me and 5 SMNs, whoom i paid 100k each. SMNs were lvl 70-75 so i thought I had it in the bag. couldnt wait to get my fenrir and what happens? our 5 SMN party got Pwnd by ol' Fenny. 2 were to close when he used 2 hour and died instantly, other 3 SMNs kept summoning leviathin but fenrir would destroy in 1 or 2 hits and start running after the smn. needless to say i used eagle eye shot then got a 1 shot death from fenrir who easily finished off the 3 remaining smns. WTF! omg what happening here? Did i just have 5 SMNS who sucked? or is fenrir that bad of a monster!?

As a BLM/SMN, I static with other members of my LS, and our PLD/WAR recently asked if he could tank Fenrir at lvl 60.
Is this possible? And if not, what does anyone recommend to include in addition to a DRK/WAR, PLD/WAR, and BLM/SMN, all lvl 60? (Aside from a WHM, of course. ^^)

no he can't. as a 61 pld i tanked shiva. first fight we didn't plan that well. add effect hits for 130-140 with carol and bar spell. fought along eventually i died because whm ran out of mp, and we weren't refreshed well because rdm got slepted. second try, ran up, got buffs, ran in, rdm chainspelled fire whatever, then blm manafonted fires till he ran out. held hate the whole time. figured it was in the bag so i two houred. lost hate to the whm. got hate back, whm 2hr'd still held hate while rdm and blm healed mp. shiva went down, and i got my summon.
funny thing. 60 smn got one shotted by diamond dust.

First off: he asked about Fenrir, and all you talk about is Shiva, who is nothing like Fenrir at all.
Second, to the OP: No, you can't. Fenrir is a battle for 70+ people. Even with a full PT of 75s, it can be very difficult. At 60 you would all be raped within seconds.

I paid 400k to get fenrir last night...so did another guy. 4 lvl 73-75 smn messed him up!!! the most dmg someone took was 300hploss from one of the summoners....he got owned, and now my WHM/SMN has fenny ^.-
I'm not a summoner, i know absolutely nothing about summoner except that i have one in my static party. I'm just a Rng, and i only know stuff about Rng. I have a question, can you do each avatar battle more than once, so you can do it once and get the pact with the avatar and then do it again to get the items? I was confused, before i thought you could only do it once and thats it. Please halp a brother out, lol.
OK. To get Fenrir you need to obtain a key item from the NPC in windy called a 'Moon Bauble'. To get this you need a full set of whispers gained from defeating the full avatars.
Whispers can be traded in to the NPC that gave you the fork for the prime battle for the ability to summon that avatar (a pact), an item or some cash. Once you have traded the whisper, the next real life day you can get another tuning fork and fight the prime avatar again for another whisper.
To get the moon bauble you need a set of all the whispers. So you do not trade them to the NPC who gave you the quest. You save them and go to the NPC in Windy when you have a full setfor the Fenrir cutscenes and the moon bauble.

You know what i think is really stupid... Say you get all the fenrir items, and the only thing left you can really get is gil... And guess what.. you can only get 10k... Which I think is reallly stupid.. They should at least give like 50k... But I havent' gotten all the fenrir items.. So it really doesn't matter yet... just a stupid rant..

players keep telling me i need max fame in windy to fight fenrir, what if i join a party too fight fenrir does my fame still count and will i still need all whispers to enter because i seen a bunch of players 1 lvl 50smn and the others have never had smn before and they all enterd please explain this

Yes, you need high fame (level 6 or 7 im not quite sure). And yes, you need all whispers yourself. You can obtain these with the prime battles. You can get the avatars even when your summoner is level 1. As for every Prime, you need a fork. Everyone needs it, or you CANT enter. And it could be that the level 50 SMN had a higher level job. And you can do Prime avatars with every level, you most prolly get destroyed by the 2hr though....

It hit so hard on me! (250+ per normal hit..) And I think blink tank is needed to fight it..
I saw another 74PLD party go in and got wiped out too... Do we necessary need a SMNx4 Party in order to get this done?

You get the whispers by fighting the avatars with a party, you dont get the whispers doin the lvl 20 battles, you get the summons. Oh yeah, btw when you do beat the avatars with a party and get your whisper, DO NOT return to the quest giver and talk to him, if you do you will lose your whispers.
