Battle Notes

In order to enter the battlefield you will need to bring a Sky Orb, which is obtained by trading 30 Beastmen's Seals to Shami in Port Jeuno. When you are ready, trade the Sky Orb to the Burning Circle inside Balga's Dais and choose to enter the battle Creeping Doom.

Up to 3 people may enter and you will all receive a level 30 restriction. You have 15 minutes to win. You will face one opponent: A giant Crawler named Bitoso. He can cure himself, uses Paralyzga, all the regular crawler abilities, and has lots of HP. If you can bring him down you get a treasure crate filled with assorted rewards.

Strategies

BLM BLM DRK BLM BLM BLM

Make sure than the Black Mage's have /WHM and have Paralyna as the Crawler has an Area of Effect (AoE) Paralyze spell. You will also need Aspir/Sleep and a maxed Dark Magic skill level for this fight. Sleep and Aspir Bitoso until he has 0 MP and then nuke him until dead. He is resistant to Silence and casts Cure III on himself so it is important to drain all of his mana.

BLM BLM RNG

The Ranger will need to bring Sleep Bolts. Sleep and Paralyze Bitoso at the start of the fight. The Black Mages should then coordinate their nukes by casting together and the Ranger should sleep Bitoso with the bolts just after the spells hit. With repeated successful cycles, this battle should be easy.

DNC/NIN DNC/NIN NIN/WAR

Pretty easy BCNM. Went in with Utsusmei: Ichi up and some food buffs on and just traded taunt. The 2 dancers healed to trade taunt. Just played through the paralyze and cures and slows. Not a dangerous tactic but we got pretty close on the 15 minute period.

really?!

i used to run this BCNM on a weekly basis back in 04-05 and unless the fight has changed dramatically since, every post i have seen has made it much more complicated than it really is...even the 100% ones make it more complicated than it really is. I have never lost this bcnm, have probably made over 6mil gil on it and I used to do it with 2 ppl.

rng/nin(me-Jeral~Leviathan)
rng/nin (Czure~Leviathan)

that simple, never fails(unless u are fail).
drop an acid bolt at beginning of fight and then alternate sleep bolts. be fully geared and in best lvl 30eq. when acid bolt drops off, re-apply and go back to sleep bolts...rinse, repeat. A few times we had properly timed a barrage and an EES to speed the process along, but it is really unnecessary as this method always completed the fight for us in roughly 8-10min given RNG(random number genereation).

now the only caveat is if the fight has changed dramatically since then, which i really doubt seen as how it is old content, but you never know. if it has please post the changes so i can go back to farming this sucker soon.

Hey I'm looking to make some gil (aren't we all), and I'd like to do this BCNM. So anyone on Fairy Server that wants to do this BCNM send me a /tell in game (Beden). I have both Rng and Blm equipped and ready for this BCNM.

BLU, BLU, WHM
# Jan 28 2007 at 6:57 AM Rating: Decent
I just did this with some not so close friends. Our set up was BLU/NIN x2, WHM/BLM. We would have went with BLM/WHM or something else instead of the white mage, but we were anxious to get in there. First fight wasn't so good on account of we didn't know what we were doing. Saying that this bug spams Cure III is an understatement. The next three times we had it down like clockwork. Us two blues just alternated "Head Butt", once the bug is past 50% just alternate the stuns without waiting for him to cast. White mage stood back and "paralyna" and healed us since we aren't professional ninjas. All of us had to use one yagudo drink, occassionally two. Not the fastest way to bring down the thing, but it works. We ranged 7 minutes to a whopping 11:40.

I feel like ranting. Just lost my orb on this because one of the BLMs from my LS was completely incapable of understanding directions. I would tell her to nuke at :50, she'd either wait too long (******** it up), or she'd somehow think it was her turn to sleep. Figures she figured it out when it was her orb on the line.
Blue mage vs. Creeping doom
# Dec 06 2006 at 6:14 AM Rating: Decent
Ok for those of you wondering about blu's in bcnms we did this yesterday with blu/whm, blu/nin, rng/nin worked great.
Strategy was simple rng spam sleep bolts blue mages alternate Head Butt and Bludgeon to keep hate even. Blu/whm used healing breeze for curing and one of the sleep spells (don’t remember which one) in case bolts missed.

The only trick is timing the sleep to land AFTER the damage but before he cast cure III. Head butt would stun about 70% of the time and interrupts his spells.
We went 2/3 on him and 3rd fight ran out of time.

Bring 2 yag drinks per fight and you'll own this one.

typically ppl sleep bolt this thing to death, we just did 3 runs and it went smoothly fights lasting approx 6 minutes with no fear of death.

PLD/WAR
BLU/WHM
RNG/NIN

all 3 members ate Rice Dumplings for the paralyze resist and all around great stat bootswith attack boost for both ranged and melee.

PLD straight tanked it with little difficulty, used 2 yag drinks per fight and no potions.

BLU "head butts" to interrupt cure3 or paralyga when possible, and uses paralyna when afflicted in the order BLU->PLD->RNG

RNG just did as much damage as possible.

Overall smooth fight no problems he went down easily. Basically PLD tank and 2 DD with 1 /whm for paralyna can pwn this guy.

We did 3 runs and got 2 genin earrings, 1 warlock earring and some other junk worth about 50K (total 700Kish)

we went back to this one with:

PLD/WAR
BLU/WHM
WAR/MNK

used basically same strat as before, this time we had blu concentrate on headbutting every single cure3, bitoso landed about 2-4 cures per fight.

We pwned the hell out of him and set the record on cerberus at 4.0 minutes!
A far from optimal setup.

Got a random tell when lvling cooking on my BLM/WHM asking for help on this BCNM. Due to how exciting making Carrot Broth is, I agreed to help out.

Setup was far from optional, Mnk/War, Drk/Thf, and me the Blm/Whm.

However, the BCNM went fairly well, the Mnk and Drk bringing plenty of high potions, and me using 2 Yag drinks every fight.

Strategy was to sleep/aspir for 6 rounds (Drk&Blm), then slow/paralze/blind and begin hitting. Continue aspiring as possible, nuke etc.

Mnk died the first time (Didn't get a potion off in time)

Special notes: I'm Taru, of another race bring Ethers as well, or be prepared to 2Hr, probably will run out of mana.

Also, as a BLM/WHM don't heal, you'll aready be getting aggro occationally due to nukes.

Final notes: Macro Macro Macro
1)Sleep
2)Aspir
3)-6)Nukes

And finally, this BCNM is easy, it's also not worth the price.. If you don't get Utsusemi, chances are good you'll get mostly crap.

Decided to do this BCNM for Utsusemi: Ni scroll.

Set up: BLM BLM RNG

First orb was a test run on strategies stated, but it took too long to Aspir with just two mages, so we ran out of time. So we decided to try another strategy of nuke, RNG sleep, Aspir, repeat accordingly.

That strategy worked fine. There seems to be a mild problem tho..We had our Firaga's timed together, and RNG would sleep it after he saw both go off. But sometimes the damn mob wouldn't get slept by his bolts, and would sometimes get a Cure III off before he was able to shoot another one.

His AoE Paralyze is actually a sigh of relief compared to Cure III, and doesn't really hurt your casting. If anyone is thinking of doing this BCNM, i would suggest bringing an Eremite's Wand. The 25% spell interruption helps alot when casting Parlyna.

Drops were meesly..But it's fun, and plan to do it again tomorrow.
NERF? <Hmmm.>

am wondering if it is still possible for 3blms to do this and just time sleep and nuke fire and aspir. looking to do this with LS again but duno if it can still be done after the mage nerf :(

Existing record on Siren was 10 minutes and 45 seconds.

We beat it 5 out of 6 times (lost once due to disconnection) and our worst time was 2 minutes and 33 seconds, with the new record being 2 minutes and 1 second.

I'm curious if any other server has managed to beat that time.

Drops pretty much sucked except for one Utsusemi scroll

anyone tryed this?

for those that have done this BC with the BLM strat, how much do you think an astral flow would do to it? 15-20%?

My brother (Vidien), an RL friend (Zith), and I did this a few days ago. We got the record on Unicorn 3 minutes 9 seconds (i think, or 16 scnds)got it down from 4 mins. Kept using the same strategy we've been using for awhile. 2xWar/Nin and 1xThf/Nin just shooting sleep/bloody bolts and sharing hate. Good marksmanship helps =). Well the record might have been removed from last update and stuff, but anyway got it this time. Happy Hunting!

And I have never done a stupider thing. ;_;

I escaped after the battle... but one person didn't pass on the genin and we lost it. ;_; I feel so horrible but to all of you out there!!!!!

DO NOT ESCAPE UNLESS YOU SEE THE ITEMS GO TO SOMEONE. Other than this it is at the point where we win without getting hit. Easy gil, low ammount of seals used.

Things needed:
1Yag drink per fight
Star Orb
3x Blm
Melon Pie

Macros
Sleep
Aspir
Thunder
Water II

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Strategy: To do this BCNM you must have a group of trusted friends who know how to time spells correctly. The basic strategy is to set a sleep order between the three members:

Member 1--->Member 2--->Member 3--->Member 1--->Member 2--->Member 3--->ect.--->ect.--->ect.--->

You basically do this like a manaburn party. You have one Blackmage sleep the mob, while the other to nuke it with Water II. YOU MUST MAKE SURE THE BLACKMAGE CASTING SLEEP CASTS IT AFTER THE OTHER TWO BLACKMAGES NUKE. In case you didn't know, the SECOND Bitoso wakes up, he's going to cast Cure III. Bitoso is somewhat of a Redmage in the fact that he has Fast Cast. You MUST time the sleep to hit after the nukes, but before he cures himself. I recomend casting sleep a second or so after the Nukers start casting Water or Thunder. So it should go something like this

Member1:@50 <----Nuke time. Corresponds
--------@50--------to the Vanadiel clock.
--------@50

~*~XX:50~*~

Members 2 and 3 start casting Water II on Bitoso

~*~1.5 seconds later~*~

Member 1 starts casting Sleep on Bitoso

~*~1 second later~*~

Member 2 and 3 cast Water II! Bitoso takes
--------------------128DMG and 128DMG

Bitoso Starts casting Cure III on Bitoso

Member 1 casts Sleep. Bitoso is asleep.
Bitoso's casting is interupted.

Member 1: Member 2! Sleep! @22
Member 1: Member 2! Sleep! @22
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

That's how the whole fight will go. In between nukes allow time for Aspir and Yag drinks. you should not need more than one yag drink if you CONSTANTLY ASPIR. Dont let aspirs get in the way of nukes. Last, but not least, DONT PANIC. Chances are he WILL CURE HIMSELF. If a sleep doesnt stick or goes off too early, just have another member sleep him and restart the cycle.

Have fun! Make sure not to make stupid mistakes (I'm sorry Scandi ;_; I lost your Genin. Im sorry mel, I lost your whole orb ;_;)

I love my LS and hope they forgive me.

XOXOXOXOXOXOX
<3 Curcio :D

And hopefully my last edit:

Problem with other set ups:

-Note this doesn't mean the set ups AREN'T usable, it just means they aren't as good as 3xBLMs.

1.) Sleep bolts: Sleep bolts don't always put him to sleep. Sometimes they don't work and end up hurting him... waking him up when you don't want him to.

2.) Pld/Drk/Blm: I guess it's tryable... if you don't mind the Shield/Weap bash combo. Like I said, Bitoso has Fast Cast (or if not, he seems to cast a LOT faster than a normal whm) and they will need to Stun him VERY quickly. On top of that, he can Cure himself many times, thus more than one shield or weapon bash can stun. ALSO, the bashes don't always stun, making them kind of untrustworthy.

3.) Aspir first then nuke away: This can be done, but often leads you to have much higher completion times... which can lead to BCNM defeat if you don't do it quickly enough. Also, if you Aspir at the begining, you could run out of a source for MP after you do all of that nuking. Better have extra yags and some ethers.

All of these, I guess, are workable, but the only way I've seen this guy go down quickly and efficiently (need I mention not getting hit or him Curing himself once?) is 3X Sleep/Nuke order.

Hopefully this is my last edit lol XD

All you really need is to do aspir, sleep, drain, sleep, aspir, etc. until the NM has no more mp, then unleash your best blizzard, thunder, fire spells.... Absolutely no earth based spells should be used since they are ineffective. Happy hunting this BCNM is easy.

Honestly I find the best way is to go in with 2 DRK/NIN's and 1 BLM/Whm

All we had to do was go in with sleep bolts and bloody bolts (maxed markmenship) and maybe some HP regen food maybe one. Send the BLM in to ES Sleep it at start and then all 3 chars on the field Aspir it until it wakes up. After that have the DRK's trade tank it with a mix of bloody bolts and utsemni (or however u spell it ) until the blm can succesfully sleep it. After that keep sleeping it and Aspiring it till he is out of MP. DRK's shouldnt get hit that much beacuse of shadows and if the do BLM and heal them if needed but the food should be used also if needed. As of this time i cant recall how much he has but about 15-20 good aspirs of 50-100 should do it. After he is out of MP proceed to kick the crap of him. BLM can go off on him at abour 40% life considering the DRK's cant voke becuase of no war sub, but if can get this down u can beat it very successfully . We did it 3 times like that one each orb and on the 3rd orb beat the time record for the Lakshmi sever at the time. Anybody who is slightly used to the game should make sense of the stategy i have posted.

Easy as pie to do with three BLMs.

One runs in and ES/Sleeps. Everyone position themselves spaced apart around the arena. Aspir >>> nuke >>> sleep. Worm stays near the center most of the time. With the positioning, only one person should get hit by Paralyzga. Three Water II spells slamming into the worm at once takes about 1/8 - 1/6 of his HP out at a time.

Rinse and repeat til dead.

Haven't lost yet. Average about 3 - 5 mil in drops per run. Best run has been 10.5mil.

..wow...strange...but wow....

Here's the setup for the party I had. We're 8/9 on it, and that's because ONCE we changed BLMs...

BLM/WHM
PLD/WAR
DRK/THF

BLM would do buffs, PLD would Protect II himself. Use food and Yagudo Drinks. Used skillchains...I think Fast Blade and then Dark Harvest (It's been a while) and then Water II (BLM) Water (DRK) for the MB, with Sleep right afterwards. BLM and DRK would Aspir, then rest while PLD was resting through Aspir. 30 seconds later or so, stand up, PLD would provoke, DRK + BLM would Aspir, DRK would set up SA, and resume. As long as Weapon Bash / Shield Bash stopped one of the Cure IIIs, there was no problem. If it didn't stop the cure III, then it would just take longer. On average of 8-9 minutes. Just another way to do this if you can't get the BLM or RNG setup.
My party did this first try.

30 rng.
30 sam.
29 blm.

Well...what can i say? sleep bolts. and lots of them. Timed the sleep bolts, sam 2hr'd. I casted sleep and spells before and after the constant shot of sleep bolts. We tried the battle a second time, but I(the blm) got WAAAAYYYY too nukative and tried to take it fast. I died fairly quick. and for the sam and rng..sam died soon after. and then the rng sort of...kitted it...but died in the end.. No good drops though... but 3 rngs and no more than 1 blm are needed.

Artemisia found ya ;)

~*~Curcio~*~

As for the ranger guy I will back up what Artemisia (mel) said: You can EASILY do it with one ranger and 2 blms. Blms should sub whm and yada yada. >_>;

The ONLY problem with ranger is that sometimes the Sleep on the bolts do NOT stick. This means that the damage from the bolt WILL wake Bitoso up and it WILL Cure III itself. This happened in our BCNM, but the only thing it managed to do is make it longer to kill. That isn't a problem, however, and you really shouldn't be worried. Have the blackmages macro Water II and Thunder. Also macro sleep, incase sleep bolts do not stick. Our ranger , Scandi, did the countdown for when we should cast and it payed off well. Paralyna is a must.

The only set up I could possibly think would be better is 3x BLMs (which we also did for a couple of the fights). But you need a lot more coordination to pull this off. You need 2x blm to nuke, while the other starts casting sleep 1 second after the other 2 start casting their nuke. If you don't time it perfectly, you will end up sleeping before the nukes go off, meaning the damage will wake Bitoso up. Sleeping it isn't a problem, it sticks every time.

Also, Bitoso doesn't do much damage (30-70crit) so don't panic if it aggros a blackmage. You should worry if it cures itself.

I had a lot of fun with this BCNM and can't wait for others in our LS. Thanks for the fun BCNM mel and hope we can do it again (or another).

Go, go, spiritcrusaders ^_^.

Since no one really replied to below post regarding 2 rng doing this....

Havent done this in a while, but friends and I went 9/9 post patch with rng, rng, blm. Later went 2/2 without the blm. The blm did initial sleep after that we(rngs) kept firing bolts in rhytm. the Sleep doesnt last long, it doesnt matter, just needs to last till the next bolts hit^^; Blm DCd once and we still one with ease. Maintain ideal bolt firing position and keep plugging, use alternate ammo for WS and barrages of course to speed it up...You do most likely need 2 rng to do it safely, but the blm is really there just to speed things up, as long as you fire nonstop 2 rng will win within time limit.

Its slow compared to mulitple BLM setup, but 2 rng can easily duo this. Our group doesnt set records usually, we just make a point of never losing ^^; Drops were *** btw. We were doing it mostly for fun, with prices now it might be worth it, but BC60s tend to be very good to us.

I did this yesterday with my brother and his friend the set up was:

WAR/NIN (Pyd)
BLM/WHM (Jaegerak)
BLM/WHM (Lavitz)

2 BLMs used a Yagudo Drink and a Melon pie and WAR/NIN a Mithkabob.First BLM used ES+Sleep, then aspir. Second BLM used ES+ Bind while WAR/NIN voked when Bitoso was asleep. After 4 vokes we started nuking...All the fight was easy WAR used 2 Potions and almost at the end Mighty Strikes + Raging Axe and Bitoso died.

Drops:
Wizards earring = 500K
