Battle Notes

In order to enter the battlefield you will need to bring a Cloudy Orb, which is obtained by trading 20 Beastmen's Seals to Shami in Port Jeuno. When you are ready, trade the Cloudy Orb to the Burning Circle inside Balga's Dais and choose to enter the battle Charming Trio.

Up to 3 people may enter and you will all receive a level 20 restriction. You have 15 minutes to win. You will fight 3 NM Leeches named Prune, Phoedme, and Pepper. Once you kill them all, a chest will appear and you will receive an assortment of rewards.

  • All have the Leech special attacks.

  • Each leech has a special TP move. Pepper uses Absorbing Kiss (Attribute Drain), Prune uses Random Kiss (can be either HP, TP, or MP Drain), and Phoedme uses Deep Kiss (Status Effect Drain).

Strategies

  • It is recommended that Pepper be killed first, then Prune, then Phoedme.

  • Each party member should either be able to solo a leech or kite one.

  • DRG/WHM, RDM/WHM, NIN/WAR has been successful. RDM binds one leech, and enfeebles a second one while kiting it. DRG and NIN kill third leech, before moving onto the bound one, then the one being kited.

Just finished this one up... took a little bit to get it down, but when we did, we smoked them. We went on Full Moon Windsday.

Party:
WHM/BLM taru (me)
WAR/NIN hume
RNG/WAR galka

Bring along an x potion, au lait and chiefkabob for both melee, a yag drink, rolanberry pie, and atleast 2 hi-ether for mage.

Standard level equipment for whm & rng, war/nin had the bone +1 gear on. RNG used acid bolts, both melee had battle axes.

Start the battle by having the RNG creep to the edge of the arena and sharpshot + Eagle Eye Shot the left leech (basically giving you a free shot w/o having to worry about them hitting you). When that connected, about half of Prune's health was taken away. Then, have the RNG voke the middle leech, and the WAR voke the right leech. This could probably be switched, as I believe this left the War with the leech that sucks 2 hours, but I could be wrong.

Next, have the WAR Mighty Strikes the Prune, and both melee him/her until it dies. When it does, each melee takes the leech it initially voked.

Up until this point, the WHM should not do anything but Cure 1, don't worry, the stuff with prune goes super quick.

After the left leech is down, just hack away. Time Cure IIs and Curagas when the melees have their vokes ready. Divine Seal and Curaga if necessary before benediction, benediction second if you still need that. The Hi-Ethers may be needed as time goes on, we needed them, but this was our first run at this strategy.

The RNG may want to aim their ranged attacks at the WAR's leech to speed up the elimination of the second mob's offense, making the WHM's job easier.

Killing the left leech first thing (esp. starting the battle with EES) and hate control makes this one easy.

Recieved potion, fiend blood, wool cloth, mythril beastcoin, mannequin hands, mannequin head.

So I just did this on the Phoenix Server {Oh yeah we rock :P}.

Was a piece of cake.

3x Nin/War

2 Nins used Kurami:ichi(sp?) on Pepper and Phoedme, Then we all moved on to Prune. All kept Utsusemi:Ichi(sp?) up and we took out each leech one by one. Took about 5-6 minutes.

Drops
500 Gil
1x Cloth
1x Potion +1
1x Mythril Beastcoin
1x Cant remember, (wasn't very good anyways.)
1x Mannequin Hands

So overall, not to shabby. The other two Nin's split the profit from the Mannequin hands (Need money for Emperor Hairpins, gilsellers destroy our server :/... ) and will get me mine tomorrow :P so I can finally update my armours.

Good Luck to all who decide to take this on.
[Take Care.] [Nice to meet you.]

Did this last night with this group:

SMN/BLM (me, BLM so I could Warp out after XD)
SMN/WHM
SMN/RDM (really, subs don't matter with this strategy).

Equipment: Naked. All of us. Well, one of us had a federation signet staff or something of the sort. And maybe rings/earrings. But otherwise, naked.

Items per SMN: 3 Yag drinks, one per fight. 2 Hi-Ethers, use both for "their" fight.

Strategy: SMN One, Two, and Three run to top. SMN one summons Shiva, SMN two and three summon Ramuh. SMN one uses Astral Flow, sends in Shiva, DD. This makes it SMN one's fight, thus he should be the only one using Hi-Ethers. Ramuhs follow using Thunderspark, NOT Astral Flow. SMN one uses Hi-Ether. Shiva will prolly die, but since all the leeches have been hit by another avatar (through Thunderspark), the Ramuhs will take a beating. Preferably have all three avatars on average meleeing a different leech (SMN one hits left, SMN two hits middle, SMN three hits right, that kinda thing), although, it's VERY important to make sure each avatar has hit each leech in someway or the other before another avatar dies (thus Thunderspark being very useful). IF you have to, and Thunderspark is not readily available before anothe avatar dies, have Ramuh switch targets and take a swing or two at each leech if Thunderspark isn't up. Diamond Dust x 2, Thunderspark x2 and overall Ramuh melee should kill 'em easy. If not, by the time Shiva gets off that second DD, two more Thundersparks are coming in. This never happened in my group.

Second fight, same thing, except now SMN two will use Hi-Ethers, Astral Flow, and Shiva, and the other SMN's use Ramuh and Thunderspark. This makes it easy to do it multiple times in a row, so each SMN gets all drops from "their" round (is how we do it)

The key is to never let a leech NOT have any avatar aggro. If a leech hasn't been hit by an of the avatars present at any moment, it'll go and kill a SMN. This wasn't a problem with my group.

Easy way to basically say, for each beastmen seal you pick up is another 20k for a SMN party.

Good luck, have fun.

PT Setup: 2 SMN/WHM, 1 SAM/WAR

BCNM Strategy: We go in and 2 SMN's cast Ramuh. Go near the leeches and the SAM provokes the Middle Leech. Then, the Ramuhs assault the middle one and both SMN's drink Yag Drink. Than, 2-Hour and Judgement Bolt. After that, all of them have low health so the SAM uses TP on the middle one finishing that off and the 2 Ramuhs assault 2 different leeches while the SAM makes sure the SMN's dont get hurt. Finish both of them off and your done.

We beat the Asura Record. It's now 3 min and 7 seconds. We got: Mannequin hands, Potion, Mithril Beastcoin, and Fiend's Blood.

We did a triple run of this battle as follows:
Setup:
Nin/War (Jenar)
Nin/War (me)
Rdm/Nin (Kristal)

Food per run:
Tanks > Boiled/Steamed Crab, 4-5 Hi-Pots, X Normal
Pots, Pamama au Lait.
Mage > Meat Mithkabob, Hi-Ether, 3 Yag drink, 2
Hi-Pots, a few nornmal Pots

NOTE Both Kristal and I were skilling alchemy on (hi)pots so we had plenty of these, in case you were wondering.

Armor:
Normal armor for that level. Jenar and Kristal used Lizzie and I used my Bone+1. Shield Earrings, Bloodbeat amulet, Ganko's, Yew Wand (dual wield)

Tactics:
Basically each time as follows. I voked the middle leech, Jenar the left (cant remember correct names). Kristal would kite the other Leech around using bind. We concentrate hitting the middle leech, which usually died after a few goes. It's ability drain was annoying but not very painful.
Then we killed left leech. Since we have no MP its drains were wasted. After right leech was dead Kristal would join fight for last leech. No record breaker, nothing special.

Result:
We went out 3/3 each getting our mannequin arms and some random crap. We werent doing this for gil anyway, and we did 4 succesful runs of the Crusty Crab in Balga Dais before for mannequin bodies.

RE: Solo
# May 03 2005 at 7:38 PM Rating: Decent
I've wondered this myself, but have been told that shiva will only take hate from one leech, the other two will go after the smn... apparently they'll go after the smn even if Diamond Dust hits them... apparently they just don't attack avatars... thus I was told to grab a second smn to spare myself from the massive hate after Shiva dies... and to grab a pld to grab the initial hate for shiva's DD. Second SMN fires off DD before first shiva dies so second smn's shiva takes hate instead of SMN#1. This allows SMN #1 to recast and prepare Diamond Dust #2. I would imagine this would be a breeze with this setup... but the pld will need hi-potions. :\

Strategy
# Apr 09 2005 at 1:56 PM Rating: Excellent
Alright, after annoying everyone I knew who did this BCNM, I finally tried it out myself. Here's my (very long) strategy:
_________________________________________________

Party formation:
Soultakerx - Hume Male, lvl20 NIN/WAR
Zeronena - Elvaan Male, lvl20 SMN/WHM
Xandamoon - Elvaan Female, lvl20 WHM/BLM
_________________________________________________

Our Equipment:
NIN/WAR - Ganko (x2), Erudite's Headband, Bone Harness +1, Leggionaire's Mitts, Bone Subligar +1, Bone Leggings +1, Bloodbead Amulet, Traveler's Mantle, Warrior Belt +1, Silver Earring +1 (x2), Reflex Ring (x2), and Happy Egg. I also had 2 Balance Rings macro'ed in for Blade:Rin.

WHM/BLM - Monster Signa, Silver Hairpin +1, Kingdom Aketon, Zealot Mitts, Mage's Slacks, Mage's Sandals, Black Silk Neckerchief, Cotton Cape, Magic Belt, Onyx Earring (x2), Astral Ring (x2), and Fortune Egg.

SMN/WHM - Yew Wand +1, Black Tunic, White Mitts +1, Black Slacks, Sandals, Black Silk Neckerchief, Cape +1, Magic Belt, Onyx Earring (x2), Saintly Ring +1, Eremite's Ring +1, and Fortune Egg.

Additional Notes - I've done it 3 times so far, and none of the leeches use any kind of fire-based attacks. So I wouldn't worry about the -3 Fire the Bone +1 set gives you.
_________________________________________________

Supplies:
Tank - Steamed Crab x2 (Or Boiled Crab if you're low on cash), Pear Au Lait x2, Hi-Potion x5-10 (NIN) x3-5 (PLD), and for PLDs, Hi-Ethers x3.

Healer - Apple Pie x2, Yaguado Drink x2, and Hi-Ether x3.

Summoner - Apple Pie x2, Yaguado drink x2, Hi-Ether x3, and Hi-Potion x2.

Additional Notes - Phoedme does an attack called "Deep Kiss" which erases all buffs (more on that later). Because of this, everyone, including the mages, need to double up on supplies to be on the safe side.
_________________________________________________

Pre-Battle:
Before you fight, make sure you check the day. I highly recommend Iceday to enhance Shiva's Diamond Dust, but it's not necessary. From here, make sure you have your battle plan laid out before you enter (I'll discuss tactics in a moment). After everyone knows who's doing what, trade your Orb to the Burning Circle and enter "Charming Trio".

Once in, buff up. WHM should cast Shellra and Protectra for the party, then Blink and Aquaveil on themselves, and NIN should get Utsusemi up (If you have a NIN Tank). After the WHM recovers MP, use all your food items and head to the Main Arena.
_________________________________________________

Battle tactics:
There's 2 main ways you can kill the leeches, and both vary deppending on whether you have a NIN or PLD tank. I'll try to discuss them all as best as I can. The first branch comes when you first go to attack the leeches. Option 1.) Provoke Pepper and concentrate on him, or Option 2.) Provoke Phoedme and concentrate on her. As far as I can tell, Prune has weak attacks, and no devestating abilities, thus should be the least important.

Pepper - There's a few distinct reasons to go after Pepper first: 1.) He has the most HP, 2.) He's the strongest of the 3 leeches, and 3.) He has a kiss attack that drains a lot of MP (It will drain most, if not all, of your PLD's MP).

Phoedme - There's only 1 reason to go after Phoedme first: "Deep Kiss". This attack gives you -STR, -DEX, -VIT, -AGI, -INT, -MND, and -CHR. It also erases ALL your buffs including Foods, 2 Hours, Spells, etc. If your SMN gets hit with this while their 2hr is active, it's pretty much over. While this may never happen, it's a risk some might not want to take.

Strategy for NIN Tank - First thing's first - Run in and voke whichever leech you decided to take 1st (Phoedme or Pepper). All 3 leeches should go after you. Start the battle by casting Huton:Ichi (Lowers Ice resistance) on whichever leech you voked. Follow up with Utsusemi (No doubt all of your shadows will be gone by now) and recast Huton:Ichi again (I'm not sure if casting the spell multiple times keeps making it weaker, but I know Diamond Dust does a lot of damage when I cast it twice =P).

The SMN should have Shiva summoned by now and use Astral Flow. If you waited to do this on Iceday, that - stacked with the weakness from Huton:Ichi - seems to do 70-100 more damage than normal. Shiva will no doubt get aggro. Keep provoking the leeches anyways so they'll come back to you after Shiva is called away. SMN should use one of their Hi-potions now to restore lost MP then rest.

At this point, as a NIN, you're probably getting your butt whooped. Due to 3 leeches attacking you at once, it's near impossible to keep Utsusemi up. Even still, your WHM can probably handle most of the healing. That being said, you want to use your Hi-Potions anyways. If the WHM is constantly healing you, they'll eventually steal aggro from you and die. So by healing yourself, it's saving your WHM. Also, on the off chance Phoedme has used Deep Kiss, have the WHM rebuff you, and consume your food items again.

After the minute is up, the SMN should summon Shiva again and use DD a second time. Durring our 3rd battle, all 3 leeches died from the 2nd DD, but that's not always the case. If the NIN has 100%+ TP by now, they should use Blade:Rin. This far in the fight, Retsu's paralyze effect wouldn't be much help. Not to mention, 90% of the time it doesn't stick anyways (In this particular fight, not in general).

By now, in the best case scenerio, all 3 leeches are dead. More than likely, 1 or 2 will still be alive, while which ever one was your primary target will be dead. And even at the worst, if all 3 leeches are still alive, they'll have only a sliver of life left. Just keep stalling time and staying alive for another minute until your SMN gets the final DD off. The final DD should quickly end the leeches lives. Run to the center of the area and open the chest to claim your prize.

PLD Tank - There's not much difference here from NIN. Start off by going in and voking whichever leech you want dead first. As a PLD, I'd reccomend Pepper first due to the Aspir/Kiss attack. 90% of the time, the first thing Pepper will do is drain your MP. Follow up by restoring your MP back with a Hi-Ether.

Although a WHM is going to have to heal you less, you're still going to want to take care of yourself just to be safe. Keep yourself healed with your MP, use Hi-Ethers when you run low, and save your Hi-Potions for the end of the fight when you're low on HP and MP and out of Hi-Ethers. the SMN and WHM should do the same basic thing as above. SMN 2hr's and uses DD x3, while WHM keeps your HP topped off. Just continue to keep aggro and it should be a fairly easy fight.
_________________________________________________

Final Comments - As you'll notice, I say for the SMN to always use Diamond Dust, and never Judgement Bolt. That's because, quite frankly, Judgement Bolt sucks for this fight. My first try at this BCNM, we went on Lightningsday. Judgement Bolt hit Pepper for roughly 200 Damage while Diamond Dust hit for 300+. On Iceday with a good SMN, it can hit for 350-400 Damage, which is nearly 2x stronger than Judgement Bolt on it's Elemental Day.

Also, as you can tell, both myself and the WHM had pretty expensive equipment (Mine is around 250k, while hers tops out around 1.5 mil). This isn't required my any means. You can probably do nearly as good without the best armor for your level. Just make sure it's decent (like our SMN's armor).

As for the supplies, I listed the ammount you'd need to be safe. The first time I did this, our SMN got by with just 1 Hi-Ether the whole, fight, while I only used 3 Hi-Potions, but our WHM ended up dying. So while you may not need EVERYTHING I listed, having it reducing difficulty, and the odds of anyone dying and a loss at the BCNM.
_________________________________________________

I hope this has helped at least some of you with the BCNM. Took a while to write (cough*3hours*cough) but it was worth it if it helps someone. =P Best of luck for all who try to accomplish it.

p.s. Deep Kiss has no effect on Avatars. Didn't know where else to put this.

Charming Trio Beatdown...
# Apr 01 2005 at 11:03 AM Rating: Decent
Went in last nightwith some LS members (our leader needed the hands ^^) as NIN/WAR SMN/WHM SMN/WHM. We won, but it was a close fight. Our strategy:

SMN1 (me) goes in with standard BCNM20 2hour strategy, using Ramuh. Takes the leeches to just over half.
SMN2 follows, using Judgment Bolt just after my Ramuh dies, so his gets all the hate.
NIN is standing there, missing, waiting to try to pull one if necessary.
I popped a Hi-Ether, resummoned, but the hate was on the other summoner. He died because he was naked (we told him it would be ok).
The leeches split up, 2 on the NIN, one on Ramuh, while I waited for 15 more seconds until another Judgment Bolt.
NIN died, hate went to me. Spammed my Judgment Bolt macro, went off at 55 HP. Death to the leeches!

Our drop was - Mannequin Hands, Mythril Beastcoin, Cotton Cloth (not listed), Fiend Blood, and a regular Potion.

Was tons of fun, might do it again when everyone has equipment ^^ BTW, first post, w00t!
I beat this the other day
# Mar 30 2005 at 4:00 PM Rating: Decent
I beat this the other day my pty set up was
RDM/WHM Cptnobvious
PLD/WAR Nexdragon
SMN/WHM (me)

It was easy the PLD used a fish mithkabob,
I used a yag drink,
and the RDM used nothing he just cured the PLD.

We started by the PLD voking pepper, then I used
summoned "Ramuh" used "Astral Flow" and right after that i used Ramuh's 2 hour, then i ran back to the entrance used a hi ether and re summoned ramuh (he got all the hate and died after his 2 hour) and went back ramuh used his 2 hour again killing pepper and after one more 2 hour from ramuh the other 2 leeches died.

Treasure: "Mannequin Hands" (of course) a "Potion+1" a "Mthril Beastcoin" a "Ganko" and a "Vial of Fiend Blood"

Really that easy?
# Mar 30 2005 at 12:57 AM Rating: Decent
I've heard a few people say this is the easiest BCNM they've ever done, as well as Mannequin hands are 100% drops. Is this true? Because Mannequin Hands sell for 1 million on Cerberus (No joke. The inflation is INSANE). If this is true, I'm takin' all my seals and doing this mo'fo 10 times. I got 200 seals: 20 seals a fight > 10 orbs > 10 pairs of hands > SoulTaker is 10 Million Gil richer! Hell, I could buy a pair of Strider Boots with that kinda cash. Can anyone confirm if this is a 100% drop and if it really is as easy as people say? (I'm a broke 65RNG ;;)

Easy bcnm
# Mar 14 2005 at 10:31 PM Rating: Good
This is one of the easiest bcnm iv tried, next to shooting fish!

Me and a couple of my ls buddies decided to do this bcnm tonight because i needed the hands for my mannequin.

Here was the party setup:

WAR/SAM (Avaro)
SMN/WHM (Minitalon)
SMN/WHM (me)

Preperations:

2 yag drinks, 1 for me, 1 for minitalon.
2 ethers, 1 for me, 1 for minitalon.
2 Hi-Potions, both for avaro.
2 Boiled crab, for me and minitalon.

Ok, here goes:
1st off we entered the burning circle, avaro ran ahead ready to voke the leeches, me and minitalon ate our crabs, swiftly followed by the yag drinks.
I summon ramuh, he summons shiva, we all head into the arena. bam, avaro provokes and naturally all the leeches start beatin the living crap outta him. me and minitalon both press our "Assault" macros, shortly followed by our "Astral Flow" macro. I start things off with a nice kaboom thanks to judgment bolt, took the leeches down to 1/2. Ramuh gains all aggro now and naturally dies :( ah well. just as ramuh dies, minitalon pops her diamond dust, thx alot now she has all the aggro. pepper goes down!
while the diamond dust is goin off im summoning my own shiva, assault and swig my ether, as soon as the timer hits 0, BOOM, diamond dust time again :) all leeches dead, we stand victorious.

Shortest bcnm ever, even hold the record on hades at 2:23 :)

Drop (crappy):

1x potion
1x mythril beastcoin
1x mannequin hands :)
1x vial of fiend blood
1x great axe of some sort (cant remember its name)

And thats that, sorry for the length this is my 1st post, please be gentle.

Did it with 2 NIN/WARs and a BLM/WHM.
One NIN vokes Pepper, both NINs attack Pepper, BLM ES+Bind Phoedme. Other NIN vokes Phoedme. Back up as soon as Phoedme is bound, BLM runs into circle to nuke Pepper and Bind Phoedme if it breaks bind.

We got 2/4 on it, last two times probably failed because we didn't observe the distance, and/or all 3 leeches went after 1 NIN and that NIN ran out of hi-potions.
Easiest BCNM ive ever done...
# Feb 11 2005 at 12:18 AM Rating: Excellent
I do this BCNM every time i need to make an extra 30-50k (currently 8/10), someone always seems to be needing mannequin hands, and since this is a 100% drop on the hands, its great to sell with some good friends.

our party setup is this usually, probably overused, but it works exceedingly well:

Pld/War
Smn/Whm (me)
Whm/Blm (or occasionally Rdm/Whm)
------------------------------------------------
Pre-Battle (food, medicines, drinks)

In my times doing this, the only person who has needed to keep up drinks and medicines has been the smn. However...
(trying to keep spending down, prices based on Ifrit prices)
Pld- Boiled crab, always good, as well is pear au lait. possibly take some juice so you can heal yourself, but not necessary. Hi-Potions are always good, and the more the better as usual.

Total cost if you spurge, 4k at most

Whm/Rdm- Pie is always useful, juice/yag drinks, maybe an ether or two. not really needed, again.

total cost, no more than 4k

Smn- Remember what you took into the avatar fights? bring that. 1-2 yagudo drinks, 2 hi-ethers, possibly a hi-potion. boiled crab would help in case you get aggro

total cost, maximum 8k

again, ive done this where only the smn has needed to have any sort of medicines, its up to you and if you want to be absolutely sure that you succeed.
-------------------------------------------------
The battle (killing stuff and more)

After youve braved your way thru the tall weeds of sarutabaruta and fought your way through almost certain temptation of camping monster signa, youll be in homey balga's dias. enter your BC and come out in the usual spot

At this point, make sure everyones done with their mini cut scene, then have the white mage protectra /shellra everyone or the red mage protect and shell. eat your foods, aquaveil, and rest full

once everyone is full on mp,walk to the first hill. let the smn summon shiva or ramuh (depending on the day, if its earths/ice-shiva, fires/water-ramuh, you get the idea. otherwise its your own volition) then let the pld go first. stop at the top of the next hill-ish thing going down into the circle.

Pick out the center of the three leeches, Pepper. Smn should have him targetted but what ever you do, DO NOT GO FIRST. i can not stress that point enough, because if you do, your party will have a very, very rough time of things. the pld should go in and provoke Pepper. this will draw all three leeches towards the Pld. Do not worry however, because Phoedme and Prune do not hit for very much. In the course of my stupidity one of these fights, which ill explain later, Prune hit me a good number of times, but only for about 30 each, so im sure a Pld will not take much damage.

In the beginning of this fight, more than likely Pepper will open up with an aspir or a mp drain kiss, last i did this it took all of our Pld's mp away, which didnt help, so be prepared for it. Pld should use the drink now (if he bought it) so that he may cure himself at least once in the fight.

Once the Pld has all three on him, the Smn should then assault Pepper. Again with the stressing, you must assault Pepper, because if you dont, and you have hate on you, itll get really hard. Once you assault Pepper, yag drink, astral flow, and unload on Pepper. It should bring Pepper to anywhere from 1/2 to 1/4 hp remaining. Run back towards the burning circle and Hi-Ether up, resummon because all of the leeches will be pretty mad at shiva/ramuh and get ready for the next blood pact. the leeches should return to wailing on the Pld

Whm/Rdm- Cure 1 in the very beginning, but most likely you will have to Cure 2, and spam it. Dont worry about getting a lot of hate, the avatars usually will take the most hate. this is what you will be doing the whole battle. Rdm, though its really tempting to nuke or engage, refrain until there is one leech left, because if you dont, itll hurt you more than itll hurt the leeches and causes hate problems for the Smn.

Pld- You may have to use invincible in the beginning of the fight, possibly after the Smn has DD or JB. either way, its good to have your finger on the invincible button, cuz it's hate generation will really help the whm and smn keep alive

Once the Second Astral Pact is used, Pepper should fall hard. Phoedme usually is the next one in line, but between the two, it really doesnt matter which you kill next. the pld usually has TP by then and can nearly finish off a leech with a Red Lotus. Smn should use their other hi-ether and get ready to do another Astral Pact just in case. Usually once Pepper is down, and the Pld has good HP, it means youve won without any death.

Once you point and laugh at the remaining two leeches, you will soon see the Pld obliderate the next leech, and the smn can come in with a final astral pact to brutally murder the last leech (as it should only have about 1/10th life left and you will hit it for about 326) grab the armory crate and your done ^^
--------------------------------------------------
Mishaps (bad mistakes that can cause your lives)

1) the smn moves into the circle and gets all the hate in the beginning
2) the smns "smart" like i was and on the second pact thinks "well, ill do more damage if i diamond dust prune!" bad mistake, i got massive hate from prune and it nearly killed me. lucky for me the Pld voked it...twice...and got hate back
3) the pld uses provoke instead of invincible. it once cost our pld his life and, in effect, ours, very not good
4) the pld or the smn dont have two hour....i could have nearly killed that pld...hence, died again >.>
-------------------------------------------------
The spoils (good stuff ^-^)

Beyond the 100% hands drop, memorable drops include
-near 100% drop of feinds blood, and when we didnt get that, we got beastmens blood or toad oil, and sometimes we got all three
-a few platoon weapons, including a platoon gun, spatha, edge, and a cutter
-500 gil, always

For a roughly 6 minute fight (record ive done was 4 minutes 23 seconds, 5 seconds off of ifrits record) a guarenteed hands drops is worth the 20 seals. on ifrit, ive sold these hands for 80-150k each, and surprised the people ive sold em to for "selling them so low" most likely i could have got 200k for them, but shafting in my eyes is just as bad as gil selling >.>

First guide ever written, too long perhaps? ^^;;;
----------
Edit
Just did this with a nin instead of a pld not too long ago. not too much different, except the whm was a bit more stressed for MP. its quite doable if the nin brings hi/x-potions. the only trouble we had was the whm getting hate for a short time, but the nin revoked and everything was fine again, especially after the second diamond dust.

Edit 2
These things cannot be charmed. Ive talked to a 3 BST pt that got obliderated because they couldnt charm em (poor BSTs ; ;)
also, out of the 10 times ive succeeded with this BCNM, the Hands have dropped every time. its pretty safe to say they drop all of the time.

We used same setup for Wings of Fury, 5/5 with this combination of jobs. No good drops yet, but I really need those hands, so this one is next.

On Fairy, the only shmoe I've seen with the hands is selling them for 1 million. He sold the body for that much the other day.

One key difference, though. I provide shallops tropicale and a persikos au lait to all 3 members. That plus multiple SMN 2hr make for maximum ownage. ~.^
Good party?

Myself, my roommate, and his girl are going to try this this weekend. Our only jobs are as follows:

Me: 20blm/10whm
Him: 20war/10mnk
Her: 20whm/10blm(hopefully by saturday)

Is this a good enough group to attempt this? Also, I'm hoping to have Drain by then as well. And which would better benefit us, potions/ether or foods? I can synth OJ, hardboiled eggs, and boiled shrimp pretty good, or are there better foods that we should just buy?
Names

The names refer to the series Charmed, so thats a hint i think to use BST to charm one and let the other two members deal with the third... Idea?

#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 21 2005 at 10:20 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well that's because you used a DRG! ^^ Unfortunatly (no offense, DRGs) DRGs bring just about nothing to a BCNM, stick with a tank and 2 DDs for most BCNMs, with certain exceptions of course. ~_^
