In-Game Text

Description

It starts out with Mhebi Juhbily telling you to go away and stop pestering. Grab a buddy (and a sandfish) and have your buddy trade the sandfish to her. While your buddy is doing this, check the Shed behind her. If you do it correctly, you'll see she's hiding a tonberry. Cutscene starts and she'll ask if you have any idea how to repair his rusted tonberry knife.

From here go to Vah Keshura in the Weapons shop. She'll tell you about a kitchen in Temple of Uggalepih and a master chef named Chef Nonberry.

With your tonberry board on hand, go to the J-12 Entrace in Yhoator Jungle (invis will be needed to avoid the tonberries in this next section).

Once you zone into the temple, follow the path until you hit the junction in H-9. From here, you'll want to go North. Once you hit the next intersection at G-7, head north again until you zone into Yhoator Jungle.

Once you're in Yhoator, take caution not to fall off the ledge, or you will have to come back around through the entrance again. Go left and zone in to the temple again at H-11. (when you zone out into the jungle, just make a left, its right there).

Once you zone into the temple again, head west then south until you reach a gate. (may have trouble since you have to drop invis to open it and there's tonberries nearby).

After the gate, keep heading south until you reach H-10. Once here, turn west and go past the Ornite door (may have trouble here as well, need to drop invis to open it).

Note there are tonberries in here that aggro, but you are now in the kitchen where Chef Nonberry is. Talk to him then trade him the tonberry board. He will give you a key item "Tonberry Knife" to take back to Mhebi Juhbily. Return this to her for a reward of 7200 gil.

Quest not activating
# Aug 10 2009 at 5:59 PM Rating: Decent
It's not working! I have max fame, friend trades the sandfish and she keeps turning around and saying "Quit it!" no matter how many times we try, I think there might be another quest blocking me from doing this one.

Mhebi will always say to go away, but if you talk to Pula Rhatti, a small mithran girl near the Airship docks she will ask if you brought anything interesting from the mainlands and mention the sandfish. She then tells you to show the fish to Mehbi. That is the best way to find out if you can start the quest.
Fame

I believe you need a certain amount of fame to activate this quest.

My friend and I tried trading her the sandfish about 50 times.

We then traded 100 corinettes and got hero fame for Windurst...Talked to the SMN Avatar NPC in Kazham and got the Tuning Fork of Fire. Got max fame.

Went back to the damn Mithra and traded her the first time - my buddy opens the shed np.

All in all - this quest requires a certain amount of fame.

So yeah, do all that and...ya done good.

Cool, :)

# Jun 24 2005 at 4:58 PM Rating: Decent
I have done everything to prepare this quest (had a friend to trade the sandfish and i saw the cutscene), but when i went to Temple of Uggalepih and talked to the Chef nonberry, it told me something like this:

"Nothing...
Nothing..
Nothing i cant cut..
Nothing.."

Then i traded the Tomberry board but it didnt gave me the key item. has this happened to anyone else?

Thank u

I think what u are missing is that u have to talk to a Mithra in Kazaam, she is in the weapon shop. I think she tells you about the chef in the first place, hope that helps :)

For some reason I can't check the shed without her sayin "quit it" even with a friend trading the fish.

What does it mean by "if done correctly"?

... is "Ya Done Good". And to be picky, the key item you get from Chef Nonberry is called - in the NA version - "Nonberry's Knife".

I got the Tonberry Board when I was camping coffer key for my Sam friend and decided to do this quest.

Hope this bit of info helped, seeing how its so obscure on this site. ^^

Don't you understand it?! She has put a bomb on the Tonberry, when the Tonberry enters there "base" (The Temple) They will let the bomb explode. While the Tonberry forces are greatly weakened and still recovering due the explosion. Special Vana'Diel forces will take over there country and then... Ah, never mind, saw to much movies today. :S
