Description

Step 1: Mhaura

Go to the Goldsmith's Guild shop in Mhaura (G-8) and talk to Fyi Chalmwoh. She'll tell you that the Weaver's Guild and Armor shops used to use mannequins to display their wears, but suddenly and mysteriously everyone stopped using them. Now they are nowhere to be found. Fyi Chalmwoh thinks it would be great if people used them again, but has no idea how they were made. She wants to make them and that's where you come in, being the well traveled adventurer that you are.

Talk to her a second time and she gives you a hint about where to go next. She hasn't checked the weaver's shop in Selbina.

Step 2: Selbina

Follow Fyi Chalmwoh's hint and check the Weaver's Guild shop in Selbina (H-9)/(I-9). Talk to Ramona (H-9), the old Hume woman standing near the doorway between the rooms inside the shop. She remembers these cursed mannequins… sort of… and warns you not to be foolish enough to take this quest any further. But since you are an adventurer and not going take no for an answer she gives you another hint and a key item, an old catalogue from the Woodcraft Guild.

Want to make a mannequin? Well, you're going to need some wood, dummy!

Step 3: San d'Oria

Talk to Cheupirudaux at the Woodcraft Guild (F-3) in Northern San d'Oria. Finally we get down to the bottom of the story… but I won't ruin it for you, go find out for yourself. Cheupirudaux gives you another key item, the joint diagram for building the intricate mannequin joints, and tells you no Woodcrafter knows how to make the 5 mannequin parts you need, you'll have to find ones from the old mannequins on your own.

You need to find a Mannequin Head, Mannequin Body, Mannequin Hands, Mannequin Legs, and Mannequin Feet. Each of these are Rare items so you may only hold one at a time. Good Luck!

Step 4: Teamwork!!!

So far, the mannequin parts have been a little difficult to find. There is peculation about how and where they are obtained. Most of the evidence provided by message-board postings indicates that Hands, Legs, and Feet have been found.

None of these items have yet appeared on any mob in "normal" play. Legs and Feet are said to be dropped during Garrisons and Hands have appeared in at least one Orb Battle. We still need to find where to get Heads and Bodies from.

Teamwork is essential to completing this quest because you must participate in Party events in order to obtain the mannequin parts. Mannequin parts cannot be sold at the AH even though they are tradable, Cheupirudaux tells you so when you talk to him. However, if you have more gil than you know what to do with, there are people selling the parts they find.

Step 5: (Presumably) Put it all Together

Go back to Fyi Chalmwoh in Mhaura and trade all the parts to her at the same time. She will tell you to come back in several days to claim your mannequin. I'm not sure what the neccessary wait is, but I waited 5 in-game days and talked to her again, and it was ready.

I'm Dabont on the Diabolos server... OMG!

I got all but the HANDS! THOSE DARN HANDS! X_X

I finally save up enough gil to the set price our server is selling them for, 150k-200k, but... NO ONE IS SELLING THEM!

I swear, it's like saying "OH, I want a full set of this armor" and you get everything but the last piece. So close I can taste the Mannequin ; ;

If someone on Diabolos Server reads this, and has hands to sell.. please... for the love of god... T_T

I think it might take more than 5 in-game days of waiting. I waited 6 and she still didn't give me crap, and yes I zoned out and back. Maybe it takes 7 days or you have to come back the next real life day Japan time which I would think is 9am CST.
this is an annoying quest

First of all, rate up big time to Gatero's BCNM strats! (the post below this one)

Anyway, I hope to shine some light on a few questions some of you may have about this quest.

1. Yes, you need to trade all five pieces at the same time to Fhi Chalmwho-person for her to make your mannequin.

2. The mannequin should be ready the next day in Japan time (0:00 Tokyo). I traded to her at 4pm EST yesterday (6/5/2006) and I couldn't get my mannequin until 12noon EST today. (6/6/2006) However, other people have experienced much different possibilities. (ie, One full Vanadiel Week)

3. You only have to trade her one single set of mannequin parts to get multiple mannequins. After she creates your first mannequin, you can purchase more for 250k each. You can also trade your original mannequin and exchange it for a different race/gender for 10k.

4. Keep in mind that the moghouse storage limit is 80 and mannequins can equip up to 7 equippable items. They take up 4x4 tiles of space and can be rotated by using the "-" key.

I'll add more if needed, and this is by no means as good of info as it could be, so please help me out by sharing your knowledge of these badass mannequins with us! Thanks!
BCNM20's are easy!

I don't get why people keep saying that the BCNM20's for these parts are hard. These have to be some of the easiest battles around.

Shooting Fish: Soloed this as a lvl 20 SMN. All I needed was for someone to escort me to the Burning Circle. If you plan to this solo as a SMN, here's a huge piece of advice: It's spelled "Judgment Bolt", NOT "Judgement Bolt". I constantly see it being spelled wrong in strategies for this fight, it's NOT "Judgement", it's "Judgment." Other than that, the strategy posted all over about Judgment Bolt, Retreat, repeat works perfectly.

Charming Trio: Here's what we did. 2x WAR/MNKs, and 1 SMN. Send out an avatar (doesn't matter which, so long as it isn't Carbuncle or Leviathan, and don't go on Watersday), I just went with Garuda because it was Windsday. Astral Flow, Aerial Blast. Then, the 2 WARs run in and each provokes 1 of the leeches on the left and right (Prune and Phoedme) but engage the middle one (Pepper). WARs pop Mighty Strikes and proceed to obliterate Pepper. The avatar will probably be dead within seconds, resummon them and use their Astral Flow ability as soon as they're able to. The leeches will be wiped out, and the WARs will clean up whoever's left before the avatar is even able to get off a 3rd Astral Flow. As long as everything goes as planned, it's very easy. The WARs should carry a couple hi-potions just in case, though between our 2 WARs only 1 was actually used.

Crustacean Conundrum: Another very easy one for us, even when we screwed up the second time we still came out on top. NIN/WAR tank, and 2 RDM/NINs with platoon daggers and Enthunder. This strategy has been posted a lot, and it's a sure-fire victory.

These BCNMs are very easy to tackle, just bring a couple friends and go at it. Would you rather do that for each mannequin part, which can take less than an hour to prepare and travel for, or spend anywhere from 100K-1million for a single part?

The only really "hard" pieces to get are the legs and feet due to the fact that Garrisson requires a full alliance, which is much harder to assemble than a 3-person BCNM party. It's a longer process to prepare for, also. You're gauranteed to get some mannequin parts though, and you don't have to win to get them, just last through enough rounds (at which point it's just a matter of who out of the 18 people are going to get their hands on it).

# May 30 2006 at 9:10 AM Rating: Decent
If you're gonna make a post saying BCNM20's are easy you shouldn't really post such a bad way of doing them, especially the charming trio one. A method where all 3 people need to 2 hour???? Assuming every1 wants a run for their time it'd take 6 hours. If the summon 2 hours where's the mp to cure the wars who have a leech each pounding on them?

(much better strategys suggested here with a war, drg, whm setup )
RE: BCNM20's are easy!
# May 22 2006 at 1:49 AM Rating: Decent
Just for reference, you do not need a full alliance to do a Garrison. The amount of monsters that you fight is proportional to the number of people that are in your party/alliance. I do think the minimum amount of mobs is proportional to that of a party of 6, so bring that many at least, but in reality, a Garrison of 6 is much easier than one of 18.
RE: BCNM20's are easy!
# Jun 05 2007 at 2:52 PM Rating: Decent
As I understand it, its proportional to groups of 6.. so you'll have a much easier time of it with 6 people than 8, or 18 than 5, for instance. Garrisons can be very very tough. Hammer out a strategy ahead of time and designate one healer for the NPCs and one for the PCs (drops are based off of how many NPCs are left). Finally, I'd go with people I knew and have done things like this with before.

and you NEED someone to kite so the mages can get MP between fights.

OK I just got my mannquine, it looks like you get the mannquine of the same race adn sex as yourself.
But for 10k you can change your mannquine to whatever.

And the mannquines can only where items that is for them. so like a male mannquine can NOT wear female cloths and visa versa.

There is two quests needed ot be down to pse your mannquine these are in tavnazea and you need CoP to ge them done. ^^ good luck getting parts sorry about bad spelling.

Well I finally got mine. I bought the Feet and Legs months ago for about 50k each, then bought the Head a few months back for about 500k. Just bought the Body and Hands today for a total of 4500k. Very pricey now, but it was worth it to not have to do a ton of BCNMs or Garrisons.

from what i understand you can equip and visible armor piece, plus ranged weapons to any mann.

so a taru could equip their starter gear to a galka mann. for grins and giggles? or a hume male mann. could equip a hume female's starter armor?

note: also with starter is RSE gear

SO I went to Windurst, snagged a chocobo and rode up through Sarutabaruta East, into Tahrongi Canyon, took a right turn into Buburimu Peninsula. Rode past the outlook post (seemed to be under San d'oria flag - I might use this to teleport to once I deliver supplies huh) maybe in my hurry with Agam I didn't look all that carefully. Good enough reason to go back and check. Anyway, The Mannequin was ready after one RL day. I had an option to upgrade or purchase another. Agam ran back the same way to Windurst using silent oils and prism powders. This is going to be my only way to get Agam to Mhaura for a long long time. whoa.

bad news ? you don't get 7/8 extra slots, the 16 square Mannequin (count em' 16 mog floor squares) only use up the Storage slots. So basically, all you get to do is VIEW your AF on the Mannequin.
Now I am down 7/8 storage slots less, because I went out and purchased some AF Agam will need in the near future lvls and it is cheaper right now for sure.

The quest is great fun. The reward is great. Now SE needs to make those Mannequin storage slots separate from the storage slots. geesh.

Please actually own the item you're talking about before you make a comment like that.

you can view any armor, and it gives you 7 extra storage spaces, takes up 4x4 (16) floor squares.

Also, you can't buy af.

You can store Main/Sub/Ranged Weapons, Head/Body/Hand/Legs/Feet Armor, nothing else. On the bright side u can store any lvl or type of these items on your mannequin.

The Mannequin is not restricted to sex type armor either, i.e. males <-can wear-> females gear. The restrictions of some items like the Race Tops/Bottoms and wedding dress which prohibit equipment use of XXX slot still apply. Still want to get a Galka and the wedding set /grin

The was one of the first quests I got when I first entered selbina (a very-wery long time ago) so I would say that it is a low/no fame quest. Have you not gotten it from her?
The quest itself should be listed in the OTHER realm area of your current quests as IT'S RAINING MANNEQUINS!

Info/Strategy for SMN BCNM20

I finished this quest about 3 weeks ago or so... heres what ive gathered...
for starters, u need the Rare items (Mannequin Head) (Mannequin Body) (Mannequin Hands) (Mannequin Legs) and (Mannequin Feet)
[Places to Obtain]
Mannequin Feet - Garrison (i got mine in west ronf. garrison)
Mannequin Legs - Garrison (i bought mine, Garrison is a pain)
Mannequin Hands - BCNM20 (this BC is way way easy if u know what you are doing... See below)
Mannequin Head - BCNM20 (This is the easiest BCNM ive ever done... see below)
Mannequin Body - BCNM20 (Supposedly very rare... one of my friends just gave me one he found - can be found from easy BC's tho)

*EDIT* I solo'd BCNM20 Shooting fish ^^; got mannequin head, mannequin body, thunder spirit, and a few other low priced items.

BCNM Strategy - Mannequin Head
this is how i did this... and it was a pushover
Needed, 1-2 SMN LV 20+ (i did it with 2 but probably could be solo'd)
[Required]
LV 20 Orb
Yagudo Drink x1
Hi-ether x1 (i didnt use, but if you are soloing this BC, you will need - more of a safety thing)
Ramuh (this is what i used, because this BC is against fish.)
Astral Flow ( I used Ramuh's Judgement Bolt which worked well)

[Battle Plan - BC20 Horlais Peak - Shooting Fish]
this one is for the mannequin head.

First off, this is the one that i feel can be solo'd by a smn if done correctly... but i did it with 2smn. Now for the Battle plan

Trade the orb to the Burning Circle and pick Shooting fish.

-Go in and buff up (Protect Aquaveil Barwatera is recommended)
-Cast Ramuh (this is the one i used, because the fish are weak to lightning.)
-Run up near the 3 fish.
-Use Astral Flow, and use your Yagudo Drink.
-Tell Ramuh to Assault the MIDDLE fish. (you need to do this from as far away as possible so your character does not get agro)
- once all 3 fish have linked and are attacking ramuh, use your ramuh's 2hr ability Judgement Bolt.
[If you have 2 SMNs, the battle is over(they might have a few HP left, but Ramuhs should have more than enough HP to solo the rest by themselves, unless you do this on Earthday]
-If you are doing this SOLO, then run to the bottom of the ramp and use your Ether.
-Run up and Judgement Bolt 1 minute after the first one... they will prolly be dead after that.
(Basically the same strategy as the Mini-Avatar quests)

[Battle Plan - BC20 Giddius - Charming Trio]
(I dont believe this battle is Solo-able for a SMN)
I did this BC with 3SMNs (for safety- but can easily be done with 2)

[Things to know]
-3 Leech NM's
-Special Ability (sweet kiss maybe?) will take of Buffs you have on- INCLUDING ASTRAL FLOW) Stay away from them... let Ramuh do the dirty work.
-Mannequin Hands is dropped 100%
- x3 Judgement Bolts will kill the leeches np ( i did this with 3smns, so it was a beating =P)
-Leeches are slightly stronger than the Shooting Fish BCNM

[Battle Plan]

Go in and Buff up (Protect + Aquaveil recommended)

- cast Ramuh and run up just out of the agro range of the leeches

-All smns use Astral Flow and drink Yagudo drinks

-Attack the middle leech and use Judgement bolt.

-Use Ethers if necissary, continue using the Mini-Avatar strategy

[Please Rate up if this helps you at all!]

Mannequin body is dropped from BCNM20 crustacean conundrum. Very easily done with 3 Nin/Wars. Don't let the big crab hit you without shadows on or it regains health.

Good luck

the upgraded amnnequin is merely a choice of all of the mannequin options. example you can change you male hume into a galka or a female tarutaru. the additional purchase allows you to purchase a mannequin of a different type than the one(s) you already have. remember Rare Ex.
