Summary

Use the Ark Pentasphere at the La'Loff Amphitheater to confront and defeat all five Crystal Warriors simultaneously.

Walkthrough

You may either fight each Ark Angel individually or fight them all at once (which is this mission) to complete ZM14.

Talk to NPC Yve'noile in The Shrine of Ru'Avitau. Follow these steps to get into the BC for Divine Might.

1. See an event by examining an unmarked target in the main entrance of The Shrine of Ru'Avitau.

2. Obtain an Ark Pentasphere by trading Illuminink (drop from Cursed Puppet) and Parchment to the fountain in Ro'Maeve (note: Full Moon, 0:00-3:00, and clear weather)

3. Go to La'Loff Amphitheater (any entrance) and use ;Ark Pentasphere to confront and defeat all 5 Ark Angels (AA) simultaneously. 18 people are allowed into this fight.

4. After defeating the AAs, return to the unmarked target to receive your earring.

Warning: You can only collect ONE earring.

~~~~~~~~~~Strategy~~~~~~~~~~
AAs and their specials
1. Ark Angel TT (DRK/BLM)
Amon-Drive - area damage + Paralyze + Petrify
Manafont
Bloodweapon
Note: attacks in this order Magic -> WS -> teleport
2. Ark Angel MR (BST/THF)
Havoc-Spiral : area damage + Gravity + Sleep
Perfect Dodge
Charm
Resist-Gravity
Note: Does Perfect Dodge at low HP; can be gravitied, high evasion.
3. Ark Angel GK (SAM/DRG)
Jump : ranged damage + Bind + Blind
Call Wyvern
Meikyo Shisui
Note: Wyvern sleepable, 2hr blinkable.
4. Ark Angel EV (PLD/WHM)
Dominion-Slash : area damage + Silence
Shield Strike : Stun + hate reset
Resist sleep
Invincible
Benediction
Note: Uses Spirits Within. Can be bound/gravitied, do not fight directly.
5. Ark Angel HM (WAR/NIN)
Cross-Reaver : area damage + Stun
Double attack
Resist Bind
Mighty Strikes
Mijin Gakure
Note: At 50% HP or less, tends to use Mijin Gakure.
Order
1. PLD goes to center and gets aggro from all AAs, then taunts TT, everyone kill him.
(a) THF taunts MR runs to Shimmering Circle, RDM sleeps her pet, accompanies THF and they kite.
(b) 2 Blink tanks taunt GK and run to staircase, WHM + BRD accompany them. Fight it there. BRD sleeps GK's Wyvern. Mages stay on top of the staircase inside the corridor.
(c) PLD taunts HM and runs clockwise around the center, RDM accompanies.
(d) NIN taunts EV and runs counterclockwise around center, RDM accompanies.
2. Group runs to shimmering and teams up with THF to kill MR (ignore pet). Person who becomes charmed to be slept immediately.
3. Group runs to staircase and teams up with the blinkers and kills GK (ignore pet).
4. Kill MR's pet, then GK's Wyvern.
5. NIN brings EV near staircase, mages bind/gravity her, BLMs and RNGs use 2hr and kill her with magic and ranged attack.
6. Cast Bar-fire/Fire Carol. Fight HM in the center, but when he is at 50% or lower HP all melee disengage him and run to staircase. All non-runners remain on foot of staircase. PLD continue to kite him in the middle of the ring such that the ones standing on the stairs can cast magic/shoot arrows. PLDs use Invincible when he uses Mighty Strikes. In the event that Mijin Gakure is used, only the runner should be killed. In such an event, one of the remaining runners (preferably PLD) must take over the kiting. In the event more than just a runner is killed, order of priority in raising should be runner, RDM, RNG, BLM, others.
Notes: It's recommended the MR Runner drink a poison potion. You can charge up TP on M14 Ark Angel TT and escape, since it carries over into Divine Might.
Stun is useless in DM
One thing that gets me...
Every time I participate in a DM run, or watch a DM video, Stuns are being cast like there's no tomorrow, despite the fact that it doesn't work on the Ark Angels.
A word of advice for mages planning to do DM: Don't waste MP on Stun. All of the Ark Angels are immune to it.
When you enter the main entrance of The Shrine of Ru'Avitau the blank target is straight ahead from zone. The NPC who starts the quest is in the cutscene you get from checking the blank target.
getting the Ark Pentasphere is one of the most annoying things ive encountered in FF11...aside from RMT. first you get the ingredients, then you wait for full moon, then you sit around the fountain for hours on end hoping that at some bloody time the weather will clear, but NO it changes from double lightning to water to double lightning, and occasionally from water to single lightning. why does the fountain not fill up when its raining? does not make sense >.<.
Finally, after not getting it the first go round.
Yeah, I didn't click the spot in the shrine before I won on my first attempt. Would've been 1/1 on this BCNM, ><.
Thanks for the help Smileyface, Sparky, Buffster, Grawl, can't remember all the names, (Basically all the blms that helped out).
Thanks Logic for setting the whole thing up, /kneel.
I've now beaten this the melee style, and the blm style.
I'm now sporting my new Suppanomimi, ^^.
The esteemed BLMs of Phoenix teamed up tonight to take on Divine Might... I almost feel like what we do is cheating after reading all the strategy and stuff for melee parties. The end result looked something like this for us:
4 hours
Set the record 3 times
9/9 on Divine Might
Basically, we went with 15 BLM and rotated in other jobs for the other 3 spots. Walk up to them and continuously test freeze on the EV (elvaan one) until you know you're in range because you're able to cast. Heal to cancel spell, then stand up and don't move. Once all BLMs are in range, one person yells out a timer. Everyone uses Elemental Seal, and everyone casts highest level aga on the EV once you get to the timer. There was some debate over EV or Galka, because doing EV leaves Galka with a few HP, but we felt it was more important to be sure to eliminate EV because she has benediction. Then everyone casts a spell on the Galka, and cha-ching, you win. :)
So there are now many new earring wearers on the Phoenix server - thanks go out to Logic for setting the whole thing up and making sure it went smoothly.
New Record - 3 minutes 38 seconds. Yay!
I just participated in this for the first time tonight. Won. ^^
I am curious also if one can attain all of the earrings from Divine Might, or if you can only carry one. The above doesn't make that abundantly clear. ^^
9:54, and only two BLM in attendance. Taru died in about 10 seconds under a massive salvo from a bunch of merited DDs, Galka's 2hr was blinked by a RNG/NIN and brought down easily.
Mithra went Perfect Dodge, but got blasted by the RDM and BLMs. Dodge that :3 Hume didn't even touch the NIN tanking him, and wouldn't have done any damage, if he hadn't exploded. Noone died.
Elvaan was toe-to-toed, but his full-HP Spirits Within only scratched a PLD for 700 damage. 18 people brought him down in about 30 seconds of spamming everything.
One death, because a certain someone couldn't get to their Echo Drops fast enough ^>.>^
Wow, hardest BCNM ever, eh...?
We tried to manaburn this fight with 12BLM. None of them died on the first wave. Managed to melee all but 2 til they were down then we wiped. After reraising 15 people, we tried again. After everyone had cast, they all died leaving me(NIN) and another NIN. Me and the other NIN managed to melee the two remaining (EV and HM) whilst RDM poured on a few remaining MP in nukes. I closed Detonation (Jin > Jin) on EV and it was over with 2 of us still standing.
Outside of some of the Promathia missions and money based Kindred Seal BCNM this is probably one of the hardest fights of the entire game. In doing this fight you will have to face the almost unbelievable power and might of the fallen angels. These angels of death have a combined strength that is nearly overwhelming.
Being imperfect fallen angels they CAN be defeated. However, they retain much of their divine power as they are close to being immortal. You will need the utmost skill and focus to even stand a chance against them. If you let down your defenses for even one moment your entire team will be power owned easily in under 15 seconds.
One other thing about these angels.. each one of them is the original prototype of the 5 races of the world. They served the ancient civilization of the Zilart many years ago and their ancestry carries over into the modern races walking about today. As such, each one specializes in a particular job that emphasizes that races inherent strong points. They also, as a team of angels know the basic weaknesses of any of their "children" who dare to make a stand against them.
Angelic Human - A blend of a perfect warrior and perfect Ninja style fighter. Has absolute mastery over swords, bold main fighting and trickery/sabotage ninja techniques. His quote is "You shall be defeated by the apathy that plagues you.."
Angelic Cherub/Tarutaru - Small and devious sorcerer and lord of extreme magical and back line fighting. He will hover about letting the other angels take the brunt of the attacks and then pummel you with merciless artillery methods. His quote is "You shall be consumed by the cowardice that binds you.."
Angelic Amazon Woman/Mithra - Devastatingly powerful. Can summon her friends and pets and then will sic them on you. She then will bash you with an axe and has the truly incredible ability to charm any person from your team to her side. Her quote is "You shall be twisted by the envy that drives you.."
Angelic Elf/EV - Another feminine angel that has mastery over defensive and healing techniques. Her ultimate ability is, indeed, the most powerful of all in that her soul can burst forth in {Benediction} and perfectly heal her fellows. If she times this correctly, there is hands down no way to win and you must run away. Her quote is "You shall be overwhelmed by the arrogance that disfigures you.."
Angelic Giant Man/GK - Masculine angel who has learned techniques of pure offense. His aim is to destroy and maim things while the others take hits and damage. He is very quick for being so large in size and will dash across a room frightfully. His quote is "You shall be burned by the rage that controls you.."
In working alongside each other you bring divine order to these rogue angels and prove the true potential of each one of your races in a team! You can win through a "manaburn" method with 12 Black Mages casting all at the same time or with a very talented team of melee with superb kite tanks. Good luck!
gawd I love this game... ^^
Can you still do this quest if you have beat some of the Ark Angels or do you defeat them all first before you can fight them all at once? Curious to this because I am planning a DM run soon with my LS and I would hate for most people to show up and notbe able to particpate in it.
I was wondering if everyone in your alliance needs to have the item to enter the BCNM and obtain an earring or if one person can trade it for the entire alliance. Also was wondering if a successful run happens if everyone in the alliance gets an earring or if more than one run needs to happen for each person to obtain an earring.
We did this the other day with a full alliance, was pretty easy because of the RDM's we had (like 5 of them). They disposed of the TT and MT pretty fast, then we killed the galka, moved to the hume and a few died because of his ninja 2 hour, took elvaan down with a few chainspells and thundaga 3's from blm. Over all easy fight, if you are on ZM14 doing this BCNM counts to complete it also. Hope you it goes as well for you all as it did for us.
Quick notes
# Oct 03 2005 at 7:03 PM Rating: Default
If doing without 15+ blm, get rdm to dispose the TT and the MR fast, simply have them chainspell and thunder 3 the TT until its dead and switch to the MR after, convert if u have to. After that its cake walk.
A little more info on getting the Pentasphere:
Go on Full moon after it is 95% full, before then the spring does not fill up with water. The spring must fill up with water before you trade it the items, Good luck!
RE: Obtaining the Pentasphere
# Oct 27 2005 at 12:12 PM Rating: Decent
I got mine at 90%. The spring didn't fill up with water for you because the sky wasn't clear. The moon has to be between 90 and 100% full and the sky has to be clear.
Wrong again...
as moon is going up Full Moon occurs from 90% onwards to 100%
then it starts going down and remains Full Moon til 95%
How does this quest relate to ZM14? If you finish this battle, do you not have to finish ZM14? Or if you finish ZM14, do you not get the opportunity to fight this battle? Just curious as to how this works...
RE: Just Curious
# Oct 27 2005 at 12:16 PM Rating: Decent
I'm pretty sure you can fight this even if you've finished ZM14, just like you can go back and help out friends with any mission that you already completed. And it does count as a completed ZM14 if you do it instead of picking off the AA one by one.
RE: Just Curious
# Sep 24 2005 at 2:13 PM Rating: Decent
I'm fairly sure you must beat ZM14 before you can do this fight. I'm not 100% sure, but I am 75% sure.
# Jul 12 2005 at 4:43 PM Rating: Decent
HELLO! I just completed this-!August 1st 2005!-!August 7th!-
First time was good. 1/1
2nd time was ok. 1/3 tries were attempted and lost because during the 2nd we had someone cast to early and ruined everything. 3rd time we didnt have enough ppl.
Maybe this can be done with 12 Blm but I highly doubt it unless its on thunder day and everything is at its max capacity for damag with food, ES, etc.
14+ Blm is only way to go that route to be safe.
Im not leading anymore runs. Sorry.
