Something is afoot. Travel to the Grand Duke Palace to learn details of recent events.

Walkthrough

Travel to the Grand Duke Palace to learn details of recent events. After talking to people in the palace, Pherimociel, a ducal guard, will trigger a cut scene with two other ducal guards.

Talk to, Rainhard and High Wind, the two guards guarding the Audience Chamber. No one is allowed inside. They talk of an Alchemist waiting in the Duke's house. Talk to the Alchemist and he will mumble something about Emptyness and Promyvion.

Go to a Shattered Telepoint and examine the shattered telepoint, it will give you the option to enter. You will be transported to the Hall of Transference.

Inside the Hall are two apparatuses. The one on the right does nothing when examined. The one on the left triggered a cutscene that openes the Cermet Door. You go through the door and are transported to Promyvion. There is a teleporter to send you back to the Hall of Transference. After visiting Promyvion, if you return to the Alchemist in the Duke's House, he tells you what he knows and talks about creating Anima from creatures in Promyvion.

In order to enter a different Promyvion area to the first one you entered you must have either beat the boss empty or have memory erased by returning to the left apparatus, this will allow you to have free choice of which Promyvion area you want to enter again. It is important that you do not erase your memory before you have spoken to the Alchemist in the Duke's House about creating animas otherwise you will not be able to accept his service because you have no memory of entering any Promyvion area. Once you have conversed with the Alchemist regarding animas you are free to erase your memory at your own will.

After defeating any one of the three Promyvion bosses this mission is complete and you will need to do the other two as part of the next mission.

This mission was so bad...It was a slaughter.

We went to Holla for this one...

Our leader made alliance with another party there and I warned that they'd get us killed with un-needed aggro. Well, I ended up being right.

We constantly became sepreated and aggroed by T and IT Empty's. Finally, at one point, we had an aggro and ran to the MR. We were fighting it until one of our members came running from behind aggroing two Empty's. Instead of taking one for the team, he ran to us and the whole Alliance was killed.../sigh

Dunno when I'll be trying this again, but I hope I have better luck next time.

(If anyone on Unicorn wants to do this send me a /tell)

I had gotten a party to go into Promyvion, I had the Mission started, but I couldnt get in. I had already entered Promyvion once before, but got killed and removed from the dimension. Do I have to take some other actions to enter a different Promyvion Dimension?
RE: How?

You must return to the first Promyvion you attempted, and use the Strange Apparatus to erase your memories of your previous attempt. Only then will you be able to attempt a different Promyvion.

beat promyvion dem: party:
Galka Rng/Nin
Mithra Rng/Nin (me)
Elvaan Rng(27)/Nin
Elvaan Blm/Rdm
Hume War/Nin
Hume Whm/Blm
everyone excluding elvaan ranger was capped at 30
mages: pies and yagudo drinks
war and rngs: kabobs
everyone brought hi-potion
warrior kited (running around trying not to get hit as the mob chases u) til mob was at 30%
and we used 2 hours at that point
3 EES, Mighty Strikes, and Manafont got the job done very nicely
dont weapon skill til you're at 300% tp unless someone is dying
rangers used barrage when warrior needed to recast utsusemi
use this strategy and you're guarenteed a win
*Note: you can replace a ranger with a sumoner if you wish, this works just as well
Gotta be flexible

EternalSlumber (Lakshmi) got around to do Promyvion-Dem last night. Got 2 Pt up to the spire and took a good 6 hrs to setup everything and get up to the spire...
Got a few aggros in the way and Narru(Blm) got killed twice ><. The good thing is that exp is basically regained since u only loose lvl 30 xp and gain some as u kill the empty.
In NM battle we won at 3rd try. To make sure someone got out of spire the 2nd PT waited outside of arena in case we failed and raised us.

1st PT Thf/nin(me) War/nin Rng/nin Blm/whm Whm/Blm Blm/Whm.
The basic mistake here was that a blm had to be backup healer. and we also didnt expect rng to die in 3 hits. Learned that this NM has a 250dmg attack.

2nd PT smn/whm Whm/blm Rng/nin Thf/nin Blm/whm war/nin. Dunno what went wrong here since i wasnt on PT.

3rd PT thf/nin rng/nin rng/nin war/nin whm/blm whm/blm. All potions, some animas and 2hrs were used up. Even so the use of animas specially hysteroanima when mob had 1/2 hp and 1/4 hp assured us a clean victory. whm's were alternatig healing. and melees were alternating aggro. very few spawns were seen with this method. and most important of all we had NO 2rs, NO SMN NO BLM and we didnt even get time to do SC. As soon as war lost her utsusemi i got hate on me with sneak attack(note do not sata ranger).

For anyone fussing over what jobs to take or not to take. Our hindrance was inflexibility from players within their job description.

Just finished Promyvion-Dem today. Party was PLD/WAR(me), SMN/WHM, SMN/WHM, WHM/BLM, MNK/WAR, RNG/NIN. The hard part about this was really just avoiding any disasterous agrro on your way up to the spire (our previous attempt endend when we got oursleves trapped between two clusters of empties). With the new patches, the memory receptical battles are alot easier. We started fighting them the "traditional" way of pulling strays while the ranger and mages took on the MR from a disatnce. Then our monk got close and started taking on the MR. At first I wanted to tell them to back off, but then I noticed how much damage we were doing, compared to how much we were taking from the "big, bad AOE". Ended up having our melee's stay close to it (still getting the strays when they spawned) and took out the MR very quickly. So all that talk the melees have no place in these missions is BS IMHO. Although, strong two hours are definetly a big plus for the boss. However, the most important thing for the boss are animas animas animas! Our strategy was to fight like normal, then at 50% health, we'd use our Anima's and 2 hours. I used some vit food, got Protect II and Shell, and SMN's used aeiral Armor and Ice Spikes. Mages used Yag drinks and then we went after the big guy. Started with a voke, and after my first cure II used a pineapple juice. battle was going smoothly, and at 50% we used our anima and unloaded. First off, with the anima, the boss was completly helpless. Every attack they tried was stopped by intimidation. And after a short onslaught of two hours, it was dead, and we were still in VERY good shape. Boss never even used his special attack, and we still had several hi-ethers and potions left over. I don't know if a WAR/NIN or PLD/WAR is the better tank on this but I had NO problem as the party tank so I know both can do this. Also, I would reccomend to anyone who's doing these to farm the recollections used for anima. It helps, and you can get them on the first floor where the mobs are almost all EP. Take a few friends and farm there sometime, anima's will save you money on potions in the long run, and you can even make a small profit off the remnants that the empties also drop. And take it from me, the key to this isn't jobs or +1 equips or whatever, but strategy and preperation. Good luck to all others who try this! One other thing I didn't mention is that everyone should take a reraise scroll just in case, especially the WHM. We didn't end up using them on our successful run, but they can still salavage a disasterous encounter with empties. Just make sure you try to die in a safe place. When we failed the first time, we were still stuck between empties and our whm died after reraising when trying to raise us. (Was trying to raise the BLM for tractor ironically.)

when i did this i must admit i was pretty selfish and very set in my ways but it worked so mwahaha

Party setup (most important)
War/nin make the BEST tanks for this without a doubt nin get hit too hard when they have shadows down so the drain on MP kinda sucks

Rangers were my main damage... you need to have these, smn or bst (also thf if they have marksmanship leveled) just to get to the top. those NMs guarding the teleporters have an AoE that sucks for anyone within range

White mage... you need one, muff said

party set up was:

War/nin
War/nin
Rng/nin
Rng/nin
Whm/smn

as for the last spot this was going to be filled with a smn but as we went in we found that you can have pretty much anything in there so i thought a few jobs could meet the criteria

Rdm (chainspell nukes at the eng of the fight are great!)
Smn (astral flow)
Bst (they have a pet... they have sic they ARE useful in this)
another Rng (you can make short work of the BCs with another rng)
Blm (can cure through the fight enfeeb etc then at the end Manafont and nuke away)
Whm (i guess 2 whms would work just for the extra healing but not really needed)
Mnk (hundred fists)
Nin (i would love to see a nin blow up and kill the NM that would make me laugh)

for getting to the BC:

i found it best to take 12 people up to the spire 18 gets a little annoying when people are always pulling adds and getting killed plus as the alliance leader it was less of an effort to get 2 pts sorted than 3

in the BCs:

BY FAR holla is the hardest make sure you have 2hours ready for this make sure that the melee ALWAYS have poison up and if you can then get a panama au lait each that way you will not lose HP while poisoned but if you get slept you are screwed!

nothing too special about this fight the mob does AoE curse and sleep (poison potions) also Melee could use the holy waters but they are not essential mages should have Yag drinks but that is about it at low HP the mob will use a move called Trinary Absorbsion, this move screwed up one of my attempts because the Smn in PT DC'd right as they used their 2hour and we couldnt hit it hard enough to kill it we all died and the mob got back up to half HP

Go in to the BC and buff up, the mob can absorb some of your buffs but not all! so put up a couple of bogus bar spells and then he can absorb those instead of your protect or your useful buffs (barsleepra and barstona were the ones we used)rest back to full MP make sure you have shadows up kabobs etc then down a poison potion have your tanks run in and start to bounce hate. after this go on as normal in any fight mage heals rngs shoot tanks tank etc then at half HP the melee should have TP when they do... Mighty Strikes + TP attack then Rngs TP and 2Hour Barrage etc if the mob is not deat by now (it should be) get your 6th to 2hour and kill it

Dem & Mea same method of getting to the top

BC it will spawn an offspring at half HP ignore it and kill the NM apart from that same plan as Holla

Mea It has a nasty attack that will hurt someone for 90% hp the same as throat stab we think after that it usually does its AoE attack and unless you are quick someone is gonna be mince (as the tank in the party guess who died) other than that just blast it like you did holla

once you have done all the BCs you will be warped to Luffasse Meadows if you are not 45+ on your main job take silent oils and prism powders etc as you will still have aggro... just head west and soon enough you will come to a bridge over the bridge is the safehold

Good Luck

I would like every1 know that about Erase memory after u done either 1 of the Promyvion.

I started @ Mea (u can start the promyvion from any of the shattered telepoint crag) after u done the promyvion-Mea, u can go anyother crag's shattered telepoint. u know just follow the story line.

*** The only time u need to erase memeory is when u enter 1 of the Promyvion and didn't finish it!!

This mission is completed as soon as you defeat any of the 3 Promyvion bosses. The mission log then becomes "The Mothercrystals" which is complete when you defeat the other two Promyvion bosses. When that is completed you can access the Tavnazian Archipelago ane enter Chapter 2 of the Promathia missions: "The Isle of Forgotten Saints."

All true, also, this site has Promyvion Strats written under "The Rites of Life", which is false, the "Rites of Life" is the first mission, which begins as soon as you enter Delkfutt, and ends after you talk to the Doctor.
The chapter names like "Ancient Flames Beckon" are just that, names, They aren't missions or anything.
The Mothercrystals are just PM1-3, basically finishing the Promyvions, and making sure those Mothercrystals can mate with the Father ones (thats a poor attempt at a joke). BTW, the next mission is lv 40 cap, so rip out that BCNM 40 gear :P

I found Promyvion Holla was rather easy.

we had 2 rngs, 1 whm, 2 war/nin and myself(blm)

the 2 war/nin keep voking and bink tanking, I kept a stady balance between enffembling, nuking and healing. The whm was healing and the rngs there shooting like machine guns;)

At about 1/2 hp the Boss began to use his nasty AoE wich does Curse, Sleep and Blind. I would recommand to every mages to have poison potions for that. After that it becomes crazy... he drained once and tryed to do it a second time(he had a pixel worth of HP) when the rngs did some WS.

Oh and if the mob is ever a dark or light element, Or it becomes A disaster... just use the Web of Regrets to escape from the battlefield.

*edit: Also it appears that its always the same MR that drops the Teleporter.... well it was the same ones bolth of the times I whent to Prom-Holla

What are the memory fragment items that drop used for?
RE: Memory frag drops
# Oct 11 2004 at 7:35 PM Rating: Good
Memories are used for alchemy to make anima. Anima are used by all the other crafts to make enchanted items, like the BLink Band and Reraise Gorget.

Recollections (of Fear, guilt, pain) will get you a Rare/EX anim athat you can use on the Prom bosses to "expose a weakness"
