Just did this KSNM a few days ago with 6 BLM, Overkill
One called timed nuke and then everyone used sleepga II
died in two rounds all 6 runs went smoothly
drops were
1 Z Crossbow
3 Axes
other random drops not worth mentioning

easy with 6 BLM doable with 5
SMN, maybe?

I'm wondering if anyone tried this KSNM using a SMN with Diabolos as a sleeper...

i tried this KS30 today. The talk about sleeping these things are easy is BS. 2 merited lvl 75 rdm's were resisted 3x by 3/4 of the dragons. we were sliced to ****. Very pissed off right now. So yeah.. they are resistent to sleep.

right, so I need to do this BC to get Balin's Sword, cause currently it costs 2 mil gil, compared to Balmung which is 4mil ;-_- either way, I won't have enough money.

So I was wondering if anyone has done this as/with a DRK. If so, any tips for a poor, poor DRK?

Well, I've done this BC 11 times total now manaburn style. 8 Thundaga/Blizzaga 3 nukes kill the wyverns so 4 blm could kill them in 2 rounds if there are no resists. 5 blm is ideal, 6 blm is overkill. The strategy (with 5 or 6 blm) is to have 1 blm be assigned to sleep duty. He calls out what time the others will nuke according to the in-game clock. The other blm all nuke with Blizzaga 3 at the assigned time and right before their nukes go off the sleeper starts casting Sleepga 2 with elemental seal. Next you all cast Thundaga 3 at an assigned time to finish them off. No need for a second round of sleep unless half of you got resisted, which I've never seen happen. As with all bc's done manaburn style you stand as far as you can from the mobs while still being in casting range, which is in this case at the top of the stairs. You may want to have one blm "test" to make sure you're all in range by starting to cast an AM or something. Also make sure blink and stoneskin are up just in case, reraise too. Sleepga 2 WILL get resisted without elemental seal, so you'll probably have to rotate people who are assigned sleep duty because it doesn't take 10 minutes from the start of one bc to the start of the next (we set the record tonight of 1 minute 35 seconds, about 5 minutes from start to start) Out of 11 tries I've seen Damascus ingot drop twice, Woodvilles axe drop twice and Ziskas crossbow drop once. You're guaranteed one weapon drop per orb, just gotta hope its one of the good ones :)
hmm

Can 6 DRG/WHM kill these?
Each DRG would get 2 each. Healing bretah would keep them alive and they can alternate using ancient circle to stun them often

Thank for your post Yatenramuh. We have tried beating this BCNM with 5 BLM (72-75) and 1 Whm(74).Here is what happened:

1. Entered the BCNM realm and all mages buff with Stoneskin and Blink. Also, we had yagudo drinks and melon pies +1.
2. We rested to full mp.
3. We had our first Blm do the Elemental Seal + Sleega2. They all sleeped.
4. We timed our nuking using seconds timer, and we all casted the same time. The wyverns took a good 50% damage and they all attacked the blm who casted sleepga and also nuked. The Blm died immediately even with stoneskin and blink.
5. One Blm sleeped them again and another sleeped the odd wyvern that did not want to sleep.
6. The next blow of nuking left the wyverns with only 15% HP. At that time, One of the wyverns paralyzed every mage right after they woke up. We all panicked and everyone died.
7. Our whm had reraise 2 and raised everyone for another round. We had plenty of time to heal.
8. When we were ready, our whm cast barparalyze.
9. We used the same technique but the wyverns got stronger. They hit stronger and even casted silence and also made a special move that took our blink off. We all died ;(
10. Good thing our whm had reraise2 and we all got raise3 outside the burning circle lol.
11. I could not remember each Wyverns name. One was Ligthning, Radiant, Chaos, and one other. Each one of them has a specialty. I'd like to add more info but my party only did this one be cause it was already 3AM. We had already used 2 orbs on another BCNM 70, Operation Dessert Swarm, and we never lost. We did not get good drops on Dessert Storm, so we decided to try this one.

Hope this info will help someone who likes to try this BCNM. ^^
how to beat them
# Jan 19 2005 at 11:30 PM Rating: Excellent
I am by no means sure this wil work but in theory it should if they are as suseptable to sleepga II as the other messages have stated. this strategy involes using at least 5 blm at high lvls (70-75), and is really quite simple but i have found that it works for any BCNM in which all creatures can be put to sleep.

it goes like this:

1) beforehand you need to assign one of the blms to be the "sleeper" and the rest will be "nukers".

2) when you get in cast stoneskin and blink on yourselves for the chance of that one oddball wyvern that just does not want to sleep.

3) after this move onto the battlefield and gather the wyverns(use your imagenation) and put them all to sleep with the sleeper casting Sleepga II. and wait for Sleepga II to recharge.

4) at a word from the sleeper all the nukers will cast a high lvl ga spell like say
thunderga III(be sure that you all use the same spell so the casting time will be the same). Then the sleeper must time the sleepga II spell so that it is cast just after all the ga spells hit the wyverns. the desired effect is that the wyverns take heavy damage and then go right back to sleep. wait for sleepga II to recharge and repete this step untill you have beaten them.
(note:) though sleepga II is effective it does not last forever so you can't take your sweet time and use all 30 mins. if they wake up they will be pissed to say the very least, and then it becomes everyone responsibility to make sure they are napping again asap.

This stratigy needs only 5 blms to complete so the 6th person leaves alot open for creativity.
you could use a high lvl pally to partake in the "gathering" prossess at the begining. or you could use a high lvl smn with earthwarden, areal armor and fenrir for that pesky wyvern that will not nap. or maybe even a high lvl bard for a backup snooze tune and mp regen. but its up to you; for all i care your 6th member could be a lvl 1 thf that would do nothing but run up to the wyverns and offer him or herself as a peace offering before becoming lunch. but other than that good luck and have fun.(or at least try)

this strategy does work. in fact its used alot in another BCNM in waughoom shrine "operation Desert Swarm"

one note waiting for sleepga 2 recast is'nt the most effective strategy instead alternate sleepers. and use the "clock" to time your nukes. "hey everybody cast at 11:55" etc. (edit i meant the Server clock not your house clock)

Additionial advice, Wyrverns Have MP and are very weak to Dark magic **cough Aspir cough**

how do u kill 4 Wyverns @ the same time?

well like most BCNM are i would say two times two words:
sleepga 2 - horde lullaby
most of BCNM requires that you sleep them and take them out one by one... or just that u use youre brain and think of a smart strategie instead of running toward 4 giant wyverns and scream: LAYLAYLAYLAYLAY!!! -.-
my point is you dont tank 4 wyvern, 8 mandradagora or 5 angry monkeys, you must use some strategie... yes i have learned these wise words after i kept thinking a pld would be able to tank 3 angry monkeys at the time... heh didnt work out so well ( royal succession )

Just use Lullaby as crowd control I'd suppose.
RE: Sleep

Lullaby = Light element Based.
Sleep = Dark element Based.

Wyverns = strong to light, weak to dark.

Sleepga II would be better to use.
Wow.

Well, the mob description says "Weak to Darkness", so perhaps a LV75 SMN or three using Fenrir and Astral Flow?
