Battle Notes

To begin, trade 40 Beastmen Seals to Shami at (H-8) in Port Jeuno in order to obtain the Rare/Ex item Star Orb. Upon receiving the orb, make your way to the Waughroon Shrine zone located in the Palborough Mines dungeon.

Be advised that only three players can enter the battlefield, that their levels will be capped at level 40, and that there is a 15 minute time limit that starts the moment the orb trader enters the battlefield.

Upon entering the battlefield, there will be 8 Princess Jellies spread out in an open ended circle that, once aggroed, will slowly begin to move towards the center of the room.

  • The Princesses will not deviate from their path towards the center of the room and cannot be slept by any method. Their motion can be impeded though with Gravity and Bind effects.

  • Besides the normal array of Slime tp moves, each Princess is governed by a single element that denotes what spells they are capable of casting, as well as what element they are strong/weak to.

    • The spells that the Princesses can cast are their respective element's DoT spell (Burn for the Fire governed, Bio for the Dark governed, etc.), their tier 1 elemental damage spell (Banish for the Light governed, Blizzard for the Ice governed, etc), and the Bind spell.

If any Princess Jellies reach the center of the room, they will "merge" into a Queen Jelly a more powerful version of the Princess Jelly.

  • The amount of hp that the Queen Jelly "spawns" with is based on the number of Princess Jellies that reach the center. (If only one Princess reaches the center, then the Queen will have 1/8 of its max hp).

In order to spawn the armoury crate, all mobs in the battlefield must be defeated within the allotted time.

Battle Strategies

One strategy involved for successfully beating this BCNM involves two heavy DD melee and one Mage, with the melee starting on opposite ends of the circle and working their way towards one another, with the mage curing and buffing the melee while debuffing/ nuking (where feasible) the Jellies.

Another very popular strategy involves a similar setup to the one above, with the notable exception of starting at one end of the circle, together, and work their way around to the other end, while the mage drops cures and bind/gravity on the Jellies. Usually, with this strategy, the Princess Jellies are cleared before reaching the inner circle, and therefore the Queen Jelly does not spawn.

Did 7 runs of this with DRG/WAR(Me), SAM/WAR, BLM/WHM.

First couple runs the melees were using Au Laits and the BLM using Yag drinks, no problem at all.

After that, we couldn't find any more Au Laits on the AH, so we went without, still did fine.

For two runs I didn't have my wyvern, and it was a -little- tougher, but no big deal.

Both melees had Mithkabobs on at all times, and started each fight with Berserk.

Broke the record twice, setting it at 5:10, then 5:06.

All in all, the big drops were: Archer's Ring, Utsusemi: Ni, and Erase x2. Not bad at all.

Strategy was fairly simple: DRG charged in first, BLM went to the right side and started binding and such, while the melees went to the left side, soloing them. They're really, really easy to kill, I was using a level 36 lance and still iced them in 30 seconds or less each. We were just using Double Thrust and Enpi whenever we could, and as soon as one fell we'd move on to the next. Never were we on the same mob unless it was the last one left. Queen never formed once. I think our longest time was 6 minutes flat. Try to make sure the melees are close to eachother as much as possible, so Curagas can be done. Other than that... there's really not much to this.

One of my friends who did this particular BCNM told me this.

"We got an Archers Ring doing this BCNM."

SO apparently BCNM is the place to get an Archers RIng, I can't confirm it because I have not done it yet and found this drop, however it would not surprise me at all if an Archers Ring was dropped in a BCNM 40. I'll try it out again and see if I can find the drop myself.

4 archer's rings out of 6 runs total, among other things. so yes, to confirm what he said, this bcnm now drops archer's rings.

Hi, I was wondering if any MNKS out there have tried this BCNM and could tell me if our hand-to-hand weapons do decent damage on these jelly mobs? This sounds like a great BCNM to do, but judging from the damage I do on slime type mobs such as stroper chyme, i'm reluctant to try it and waste 40 beastmen seals.

I know Fei-yins Undying promis seems made for MNKs, but i've had always barely scraped by when doing that BCNM, and also the drops for this one here seem a bit better.

this BCNM is so easy. my ls tends to do it with rdm/whm. pld/war. and war/nin or drk/any. we go in, buff up (rdm with phalanx and stoneskin, blink for fun) and rdm (me) runs in and gets aggro from all. then stands to one side and uses bind and gravity starting from the side ending on. others take other side and start to take them down one by one. rdm continues to bind and gravity them.
after a few are dead, red mage starts to help with fighting while still using bind and gravity. no magic is to be used at all other then bind and gravity.
we get it done in about 8 minutes. only 2 times have we had to fight the queen, end when we did it was fromed from only one jelly with just a sliver of life.
done it like 10 times and have only gotten one good drop lol.
Also, gravity is a better idea then bind, lasts longer. and, it is a good idea to take 2-3 yag drinks for both the rdm and the pld.

i'm a drg/thf without /war lvled, and was wondering, could i do this bcnm with /thf sub if i got a good pld, or nin/war tank, and we took the jellies one by one while the rdm/blm binds them, although i think from videos i have seen, we could just take one each.

Or could i just do:
DRG/THF
DD
RDM/WHM

Or would it be better for my drg to sub whm (i have that leveld) for the healing breath II??

DRG/WAR has a MUCH more noticeable impact than any other melee sub here, because of Berserk. Provoke is completly useless here. You *can* still do it with /THF, but you'll do a lot less damage without berserk. You'll still totally slaughter them (DRGs own this; fire breath does a good 100~ damage, others do 50ish ; plus the constant damage from you and your wyvern.) If you have /WHM, and feel adventurous, you can drag two other DRG/WHMs along with you. You'll miss out on the breath attacks, but if everybody knows what they're doing, three DRGs can kill the mobs so fast you won't even need bind/gravity, and you'll have a good supply of healing. Make *sure* everybody is familiar with main-healing as DRG, though- you *really* don't want to find out somebody doesn't know what they're doing when you hit 1/3rd health.

If you're on Leviathan, and want help, I can go with you, if you want somebody along who knows what they're doing. I do this in a semi-static group, so I won't have any seals, so I'll be willing to take a cut on the drops if you want.

Also, at level 40 you get Healing Breath III, not II. :P

OK, so I went in as THF/WAR, as I had no other job past 40. I went with my LS mates, a DRK/WAR and WHM/BLM. I had a good idea of what to expect from research, and we went in and dealt with the first one.

It was a hard fight. Maurauder's Knife was doing fairly good dmg (for a Knife), with the DRK making up by tearing the Jellies apart. WHM bound the opposite side (we started on the left). I was pleasantly surprised at the Jellies' low HP, but it was still hard, but doable. This being our first run, it was a experiment to see how we would fare. We ended up having to fight a 2 Jelly formed Queen, and at 15% or so HP it was STILL hard. Much much harder than the Princess Jellies. So be warned y'all, Queen Jelly is no pushover. DRK died at Queen 1% HP, and I was left to strike the deathblow. By the end me and the WHM were in red HP. 12 minutes 7 seconds. I got crap drops from our first run :/
(Your Orb Your Loot, Quartermaster system)

After that first one, we tore through the rest, the last 2 resulting in 8 minutes and xx seconds.

We all got crap to ok drops, so nothing amazing.

[editx2] For all you THFs, a xbow is a MUST. I took a Power Crossbow and spammed Acid Bolts at them. With a Mithkabob and Berserk on I delt on average 40 dmg per hit, which was waaaay better than 10-15 from my Knife. Have the DRK voke so you can SA+Viper Bite as well. Obviously you can choose sword for SA+Fast Blade, but I didn't, since my sword skill has been neglected (95) ever since I got Viper Bite, so I've used Daggers since. I will be levelling Sword a bit to blast through this BC again.

I concur. Did 3 runs yesterday and it was very easy. Setup was RNG/NIN, RNG/NIN, RDM/BLM. I used about 40 arrows max in each run.

1st run: got drops totalling < 100k
2nd run: got drops totalling < 100k
3rd run: got drops totalling < 100k

no archers, no utsu: ni. just 2 mana rings and marksman ring.

We used rng/nin, rng/war, rdm/blm for this. We died the first time primarily due to unresolved strategy.

The subsequent 7 times we OWNED this battle.

Here's what advice I can offer~

1. Blm has a hard time with this one. We saw several die and get spit out while we were there. Apparently, certain elemental magic spells heal instead of hurt and each jelly has a different soft spot so you will drain mp and precious time trying to find it...

2. Bind (Shadowbind) the 4 on the left and start killing jellies to the right...Or vice versa...

3. Not sure if it made a difference but after we died we started having both DD focus on same jelly until it was dead instead of working seperately.

4. Pay attention to who comes unbound and kill them next...At first we just moved around the circle in order but some jellys unbind themselves quicker than others and you do not want one to make it to the center:-)

5. For RNG ~ Use Battle Bow +1 and Scorpion Arrows (First time we used Zamburak +1 and mythril/holy bolts and it was NOT better...lol)Sub WAR if you can...Eat ranged attack food...We ate Rice Dumplings...

6. For RDM ~ Sub WHM if you can for bar-elemental spells. You will need to convert during this battle...And drink a Yag drink at the beginning and in the middle.

7. We used an occasional hi-potion but only because of the paranoia stemming from our earlier death. You don't really need them.

This can be easy once you get the hang of it but don't be deceived. These jelly's are tough.

Drops were YUMMY! ~~ In 7 runs, we got 2-Utsusemi's, 1-Erase, 1-Shikar Bow, 2-Mana Rings, 1-Buzzard Tuck, 2-Dusky Staves, 2-Scroll of Refresh, A few varioua Absorb-??? scrolls, 1-Sealed Mace, 1-De Saintres Axe, 1-Fire Spirit Pact, A few Steel ingots, A few Steel sheets, Couple of other assorted items like gold beast coins and a ton of slime oils...All in All about 3.5 million gil worth. Not bad, eh?

This turned out to be an awesome anf flawless pt:

Drg/War
Drg/Rdm
Drg/Rdm

Fought it 6 times now with this setup and no food or anything special like that and owned it everytime and decided i wont do it any other way. We had 1 wyvern die the first time because we werent sure how to go about doin it but figured it out quick and were unstoppable

have the 2 mage subs bind the first 2 beetles on the right and all 3 drgs attack first jelly on the left killing em in order in a clockwise rotation

make sure everyone knows each others 33%health marks and have them cast trigger spells at the same time whenever someone needs a quick 260hp or more ^^(drg/mage is awesome for this^^) If one is low on mp have him/her rest until its good while other mage heals.

the jellies should never make it to the merging point but even if they do its still easy.

Good luck to all u dragoons!!!

Strategy:
Ok the best party setup I have had is RDM/WHM, DRK/WAR, DRG/WAR
A RDM is essential, not reccomended to switch this job out.
The other should be DD's, I havent tried swapping the DD's with a BLM or SMN
But those might be effective, depending on if they have drinks to replenish MP.
I have found that WS with Element effects are the best due to the Jellys high resistance to melee.
I have also found that DRG PWNS as a DD in this BCNM. Why? Well... For one, extra hits with wyvern, spear does good damage(piercing), and the Wyvern breath on a WS is leathal to the Jellys. With 2 DRG's as the DD's in this battle would be soooo easy. Not that it isnt easy already. A RNG would probably be ideal, but i wont find out until I hit 40 or somebody else tests it. ^_^

Ok on to the Battle.

Here is the floor layout of the jellys:

http://home.comcast.net/~milleniumknights/BCNM/JellyPosFullSm.gif
Click this to view the Battle Illustration

The jellys will not come after you. What happens is, they move VERY VERY VERY slowly towards the center of the arena as illustrated above(The illustration is faster than actual movement) . When they all reach the center, they combine into the Queen Jelly, which is a combination of all the jellys HP and abilities. If there are 2 Jellys, the Queen will be 2 Jellys strong, ect ect... If you kill all the jellys, you get your prises!

Here is the strategy:
Items Brought:
RDM > Yagudo Drink x 1, Pie of your Choice
DD's > Mithkabob/Chiefkabob x1 or other +DMG Food (+Acc is not needed, jellys have low low low evasion, you wont miss)
(*Note x1 = per BCNM battle)

Order of events
RDM
Buff Up, rest full. (Protect all, Shell all, Stoneskin yourself)
Run in first, to the center, casts Gravity on one of the two jellys colored ORANGE, the other gets Bind. Now that you
have agro of all the jellys run to the front of the circle, toward the bridge/steps.
The Jellys cast lvl 1 elemental magic and rasp/drown/choke ect. As long as you are out of attack(melee) range, you will take minimal damage with stoneskin/phalanx/barwhatever up.

DD's
Run in following the RDM, and each DD individualy take one of the GREEN Jellys. Make sure to use your food at start or battle. Each DD has his own jelly. Hack at it, use WS when ready, and once its dead
move on to the next one around the circle. Keep killing them till they are all dead. Easy enough...

RDM
Make sure you keep the DD's health up with cure's and when Bind & Gravity are available again cast them on the remaining jellys not being attacked. This will slow thier progress to the center, if done correctly, they will never make it to the center. Keep yourself alive too!! Drain does well on these so remember to use it. At about 250 MP I use my Yagudo Drink. Ive found this to be a good time to use it, it usually lasts long enough by then. Once you get down in MP, run back towards the entry point, far enough not to be casted on and *Convert > Devine Seal > Cure III* (I made the mistake once of not being quite out of range and got smoked with blizzard at 40 hp <_< ). Come back and continue curing until the battle is over.

I have yet to have a bad drop in this, 4/5 wins(died once due to DC), 2/4 dropped Utsusemi, and the other two dropped Erase. Along with other stuff of course. :)

Well.. I think that is it... If i think of anything else, I will edit the post. I hope the illustration I made helps. I will make a movie file of it next time i go, and post that as well. Take it easy peeps.

Went on a run last night with a couple of buddies on the 'Royal Jelly' BCNM.
The battles went flawlessly. We went twice, with this party set up:

RDM/WHM - ME
DRG/WAR - Delsol
DRK/WAR - Fatboy

I was kinda iffy on the jobs, I knew FB would be able to do good damage, being a DRK, but i was kinda iffy on the DRGs ability to damage the jellys. Last time I went with a SAM and a DRK. Well... To my surprise, the DRG did better damage and killed more Jellys than the DRK!! Can you say Wyvern breath pwns?! With 8 Jellys, the DRG killed 5 of the 8. We never once had the jellys make it to the center, they never came close, I had them Gravity'd and Bind'd well enough to hold them far from the center. Used one Yagudo drink per battle, one Melon Pie total, and the melee's used Meat Mithkabobs. Battle time was about 7-8 minutes. 2-3 minutes of it was me healing post buffs in pre battle.
Ok, now for the spoils.

First Fight Drops:
Scroll: Utsusemi: Ni
Marksmans Ring
x2 Slime Oil
De Saintre's Axe
Couple other things I dont remember

Second Fight Drops:
Scroll: Utsusemi: Ni
Steel Ingot
Steel Sheet
Scroll: Ice Spikes
Sealed Mace
x2 Slime Oil

So far I have done this BCNM 4 times, 3/4 on wins, lost one due to a member D/C durring battle. On all three that I have won, Utsusemi: Ni has dropped every time, even doing back to back battles. So the drop rate for the scroll seems to be rather good in this BCNM. At least for me it is.

Holy crap is this easy, Me a 47war/25mnk, a Drk/War and a Rdm/Blm did this 6 times, and beat it every time. I went left, she went right, rdm just bound and grav'd everything. Thing is so easy. As for drops, got 3 Utsusemi: Ni's, 1 Erase, 1 Phalanx, 2 Buzzard Tuck's, the axe, the staff, quite a few rings, all in all, we got about 4 mil worth of drops. On Lakshmi that is, *sigh* boy is our server inflated.
Kill the RDM...
# Jun 28 2005 at 1:19 AM Rating: Decent
...yeah, if these slimes had half a brain betweeen the 8 of em that is what they'd do.

Just did this with a new LS, and we freakin' owned this BCNM. This was my first orb related BCNM, and I was really nervous. I knew that so much was relying on me, and the other 2 members have done this BCNM several times. So if anyone was to ***** this up, it was gonna be me.

Went as rdm/blm, with 2x rng/nin's. They told me what I had to do. I already had a crap load of int gear that fits the level requirement from my blm sub. So I just used that, a pumpkin pie, Yagudo drink, and bought a crappy piece of armor from the AH.

Didn't even buff before fight. Just ate our grub, and drank our drinks. I buffed them during the fight. They worked on the slimes on the right, while I binded, and cast gravity on the ones to the left

As soon as the timers were up, I recasted my bread and butter spells on the next two slimes. Sucky thing is when Weight or Bind wears, I was unsure on which one it wore off of, and had to pay attention to all the slimes to find out which one was moving at the normal rate.

They spam tier 1 magic like crazy, with Phalanx up, they were hitting me for 0 damage. The elemental enfeebs they cast is nothing to worry about.

In the end... Queen Jelly? Who is Queen Jelly? <Screenshot> <Do you have it?> We destroyed all 8 princess jellies before they could get to the center of the arena both runs we went in, and smashed the server record.

Rdm must keep him/herself alive at all costs. Throw up Stoneskin, and Convert if you need to. Stay out of the jellies melee range, cast away, and all is good.

Got good drops btw. Off two runs my LS mates and I made about 230k a piece. Can't wait to do this one again =P

Did great on this BCNM with 2 RNG/NIN and me on RDM. The 2 RNGs went in and Shadowbound the 2 center Jellys in the back while I cast Bind and Gravity on the rear 2 of the left group. Meantime, the RNGs were working on pounding down the right group.

We discovered that any Princess Jelly that makes it to the center is invulnerable until the others are dead or the Queen Jelly is formed. I recast Bind and Gravity, this time on the 2 center ones that were Shadowbound: Bind on the one that is closest to the center, Gravity on the other one. After the 2 center ones, I moved off to the now-cleared right to get a better view of who was close to the center, and did Bind and Gravity accordingly.

Loaded with MP gear (electrum hairpin, electrum ring x2, black earrings x2, Mithra RSE hands and legs), a rolanberry pie and melon juice I made myself. I used 2-3 juices per fight. Yag drinks would have lasted longer, but I did just fine with the melon juice and Convert.

I took the most damage out of all of us, with several Jellys pissed at me at one time for Bind and Gravity, while the RNGs had only one mob at a time. With Utsu up, the RNGs rarely needed more than a Regen.

Absurdly easy BCNM with this set up, and a fantastic source of slime oil for me^^

Has anyone ever tried sleeping these things? How effective would that be in this BCNM?

Very uneffective. Jellys are resistant to darkness magic, and Sleepga might work ONCE - briefly.

Just a quick summary of how it works (because noone I've talked to even knew);
There's 8 Princess Jellys, they start in a semi-circle around the edge of the arena, and slowly move towards the center when they see the first person come in. They keep on this path, swing at whoever's next to them, and throw random spells (nothing bad, level 1 elementals, the elemental DoTs like Choke and Rasp, and Bind, which only lasted 2 seconds on me) at whoever they dislike at the time. When they get to the center they come together and form the Queen Jelly, but I've never seen it so I have no idea how bad that one is. Each of the Jellys are fairly easy, only hitting the Taru BST/NIN for around 20-30 damage. Spells did roughly the same.

My ideal setup is:
WAR/NIN
WAR/NIN
RDM/WHM

Both DD eat sushi, and bring a Zamburak with Mythril bolts (my skill is 102). That added damage and TP is REALLY noticeable. Plus, if you get bound just before you kill your target, you can shoot up the next one until it wears off.

If you're not using a crossbow, just use kabobs. Melee hit most of the time either way, but with a kabob the ranged attacks hit alot less frequently. Don't waste sushi on this unless you're boosting your ranged accuracy.

RDM runs in first to the center to get hate, throws bind/grav on the middle two slimes (get the next one on either side if they have the MP to spare). This way all the slimes are casting at the RDM, who should have higher elemental resistance than you. RDM then proceeds to regen, bind, grav, cure as necessary.

All the DD does is work from edges in towards the center. Go all out on it, Berserk, Warcry, Barrage, Last Resort, what have you. If you have it, use Utsusemi ONLY BEFORE THE FIGHT. It's basically a speed battle, so don't waste time recasting during it.

We've won every time so far, and with the crossbow I'm usually starting on my partner's 4th by the time my partner (BST/NIN right now) gets to it.

Easy and very fun. We've gotten 3 scroll drops (2 Ni's and an Erase) out of 6 runs, so not too shabby.

There is no need to eat sushi, we made this twice as WHM/BLM SAM/WAR WAR/NIN, first time melees used sushi, second time Dhamel Steak, on both runs i haven't seen a single miss, checking the log.

Seems like SE made it so that Jellys can't be missed, so attack food seems to be the way to go.

Posted this in the RDM forum as well, but here is my LS's strategy for it. (I'm usually the rdm that goes)

It's a 3 person BCNM: RDM, DD, DD (My LS has done this as War/mnk war/nin, drg, drk, rng, mnk) Tanks aren't important as much as pure damage is so all those paladins and ninja's out there may want to sit out. Not saying it can't be done but, eh, it's so much easier not to take a gamble

Some people prefer white mage for haste and erase if they have it, but RDM works excellent and cheaper in the end. Only foods I take into the fight are a rolanberry pie, a yagudo drink, and a third misc. mp regen drink- whatever I have lying around it, doesn't matter really. I wear taru RSE, 2x cunning earring, black cape, solid wand, ermites x2 rings, and the level 40 rope (ooh I can't think of the name, spell reduction int and mnd bonuses)

I think our drk usually used sole sushi, the others I believe stuck with plain old meat mithkabobs

I think that /whm may be a good sub for this, in order to use a divine seal cure 3 in your macro. I usually sub /blm, wether this helps the bind and gravity stick for as long as they do, I don't know. I have capped enfeebling and dark when I go into the battles.

***If you have a convert macro, change it to Cure III!***

Eat your mp+ food (since it won't come off upon entering thus giving you full MP from it unless you are 40, in that case eat rest enter) Enter, buff your melee use a yagudo drink (as a taru I have a ton of MP so I run in without resting) I like to keep blink and stoneskin up at all times, their magic doesn't do a whole lot of damage. Run in behind your DD and stand in the middle (there is a slight depression there) and you can cast on all slimes from it. The melee with take the left and right side (slime are set up like a clock) with the left melee going clockwise and right melee counterclockwise. Each solo their own mob. Point is to keep the slimes from getting to the middle and making a bigger one.

Gravity on slime on the very end of left melee's path and bind the slime on right melee's path (or vice versa). The slimes move *VERY* slow but you should still recast them when time is up. Do that on the same two mobs, later in the fight you will be doing it on whichever slime is closest to the middle. It is a bad idea to cast magic (blizzard, stone, etc.) since each slime's elemental property is supposedly different. I toss out 3x diagas (there are 3 sets of 3 slimes, cast on the middle of the 'set' and you'll get the other 2) to keep most of the hate on me and off the melee. The slimes can bind and what's better than a bind placed on a person who doesn't need to move about anyhow. Regen the melee, cure them, cast stoneskin and blink a few more times on yourself. By this time you should be ready for your convert. I *have* hit 0 MP before and wasn't able to convert, so that's what your other mp regen drink was for. At this point there are only like 4, maybe 5 slimes left. Put on a fresh stoneskin and blink and then convert.

Because of that lovely diaga I threw earlier in the battle the slimes getting within attack range are now getting ready to pounce on me so I step back from my depression. Ha! They still can't catch me.

It's about this time that you should claim victory. As a taru, I end the battle with about 150-200 MP and hardly having to cure myself except for convert. Why? Because I took the 28ish MP gamble with Stoneskin and still was stuck with rasp, choke, etc. This also drasically reduced any healing I have to do on the melee because of those diagas. Three successful runs can be made in about 45 minutes. (battles and post-battle healing/loot divvying)

And please, when you are back in jeuno putting your new stuff on AH:

***Change your convert macro back if you have Cure IV!***

We have had near a 100% success rate on it and usually get an erase scroll 1-2 times in each 3 orb run.

As a Whm I could see myself spending tons on 'safety nets' like extra yag drinks, hi-ethers, etc. (Cuts into profit margins >.>) On Unicorn yag drinks are about 2k, rolanberry pies 1k, with hi-ether being 4-5k. With 3 hi-ethers and 3 yagudo drinks (our typical battles are about 8.5 min) that's 22k already for just 1 battle! As a rdm it's about 3k per battle plus the cost of something negligible like an orange juice.

For a three orb run, which would you rather choose: the 66k set with safety nets or the 9k set?

I just got back from this and we OWNED!

We entered with this PT setup
SAM/THF (me)
WAR/MNK
RDM/BLM

None of our equipment was exceptionally great. Nothing on our person cost more than, maybe, 80k. (No Peacock Charm, no Ochiudos Kote, no Emp. Hairpin, etc)
We entered, threw up prot/shell, I used Meditate, and we all eat food. Step forward and I activate Sneak Attack. The WAR and myself headed right, tagteaming each jelly along the way. The RDM went left, using Bind & Gravity on the first three (one regularly and back and forth between the other two), turning to give us heals in between. We were hitting pretty regularly, me for 30-38 dmg, the WAR for around 60-80. My SA WS would cut off around 180. We didnt bother with SCs, just used em when we had em.
We took out the first 3 no problem. On the 4th, we killed it a little ways before the center. The 5th was literally right in the middle (nearly) when we killed it. The last 3 were no problem, since the RDM kept them all held back. We slaughtered those and claimed our prize.

Drop: Marksman Ring, Mana Ring, Steel Sheet, Slime Oilx2 (and one other piece of crud I dont recall)

We returned to do this twice more, each easier than the time before it. We truly had no problem with this fight. Also, I only used Tachi: Enpi, since other WS I had were element-based. Didnt wanna take a chance of healing them. The WAR used Sturmwind, and I never noticed it healing them at all.

Drop2: More junk, but we got Erase and Refresh.
Drop3: Sealed Mace, Gold Beastcoin, and junk.

I plan on coming back to do this BCNM many, many more times ^^

Think a THF, DRG, RDM could do this one? If the THF brought a Sword??

What would the THF's role in the party be?
I doubt that s/he will be able to solo them, and even if he/she could it would take a considerable amount of time to do so, and as time is an issue in this BCNM...
Do jellies have a "back"?
