Mission Orders

According to its inhabitants, the Tavnazian Safehold was carved out of solid rock by survivors of the Great War. Speak with the city's inhabitants to learn more of their grave situation.

Walkthrough

NOTE: Before doing the this mission, complete the quest Unforgiven to obtain a map of Tavnazian Safehold and the surrounding areas.

Head to second floor and return to where you pick up Elysia's lost hairpin (K-10). Open the Walnut Door and speak to Despachiaire to trigger a cut scene. He proceeds to gives you some background on the history of Tavnazian Safehold.

Return to the circular room with the bridge and go down to the bottom level. Proceed to (I-7) and open the Sewer Entrance doors to receive another cut scene. During the cut scene, Justinius will speak of a Minotaur and of a "magic spell that limits the strength of the monsters" that roam in Phomiuna Aqueducts and the same spell limits the strength of anyone who enters. You and your newfound companion, Nag'molada offer to rid the Aqueducts of the Minotaur. When asked if you are ready to accept the challenge, answer yes to finish the cut scene. From there, you are ready to assemble your party and enter the Aqueducts to find the Minotaur and dispose of it (which is the goal of CoP Mission 2-3).

The Phomiuna Aqueducts are level capped at level 40.

Weak sauce
# Aug 05 2007 at 10:58 PM Rating: Decent
Just did with 3 blms, pld, whm/nin, and drg... weak sauce. Whm had no issue healing. Stuck the occasional cure 3. Only issue we had to elongate mission was drg fell down something on our way to final cutscene and we had to rally to get him. Silly stego's. Btw if you are 75, make sure you are on merit status because limit poitns are great in capped areas.
This guide is bad.

It does not tell anything about what to do after kiling the Minotaur and no guide on wjere to go, it's hard whiteout a map and.

Edit: Sorry did not know that next info comes in 2-3.

Being sucked in can work FOR you

If you are planning to use an alliance, or even a regular party, you can use the 'suck in' thing to your advantage. We did when i went. We had 12 people, some of which were there to farm Subligar, someone who needed 2-3. Since a fair enough number needed the mission, and had little to no experience with the Aquaducts, 2 veterans decided they would go alone to the Minotaur while we stayed back. Once they engaged the room we would all be transported, because it sucks you in as long as your a pt member, no matter where you are. So we had 2 go to the minotaur, and we were all 'transported' to the fight, and it was that easy.
Minotaur fight

ok, so I just did this with 2 LS firends and 3 other people helping. Didn't use alliance, just made sure we all snuck past everything and killed the occasional Stego.

Pt was as follows. Whm, blm, smn, rng, thf, nin

fight went really smoothly. Nin held hate Amazingly well and just turned whenever the Minotaur used Mortal ray. It caught her twice and got our rng and thf once. Rng didn't use holy water and dropped to the ground, but the others were fine. Treated it just like an xp mob and even got 175xp for it. All in all I'd say an alliance would be harder and take longer.

One thing to mention. The thief was invaluable to finishing the quest. We didn't need to farm any bronze keys for the doors, he just picked them all for us. Highly recommended.

I am quoting the above because it is one of the most important pieces of advice for this mission that you will get.

The other is: After you've killed him, make sure that your entire group leaves that room and goes back down the hallway aways. Make sure everyone stays together.

We just did this mission. It was really great. The aquaducts are cool, and since we already had a keyholder and had reset fomor hate, fairly painless to get through. Fomors dont aggro to low hp, so you can fight stegosaurs til the cows come home, and not have to worry about any of them in the room as long as you have reset fomor hate.

While we were resting up before battle, someone accidentally went into room, and we were all sucked in; but everyone recovered well and we killed him with little loss of life.

The second time, when he respawned as someone was looking down the hall, we knew what to expect, so it was a faster battle.

Just did this quest. One word of caution DO NOT be anywhere down the hall. One person in our alliance was looking at it down the hall and allod us were sucked in. The rest of us.... we were at entrance zone >< What I can say is that as long as you dont look at it your good. But alas we were caught unexpected so many deaths and dooms later our Rng/Nin <Nemru on Seraph> killed it. Thank gawd. Moral: 1) dont wonder over to it to have a look. 2) Have Whms,Rdms and Blms. Raise and Tractors yea. Other then that hes easy.
