First, I have yet to beat this. Tried and failed 3 times with nin, thf, blu(me), smn, whm, brd. Me and nin took one, Thf took one, smn took one to kite, brd tried to keep other slept for a bit. I landed chaotic eye everytime. Filamented hold stuck. Sandspray stuck. I don't think I had Frost Breath equiped, but I should have.
First bird went down easy. Nin took brd's bird and I went to help thf. I should have stayed with Nin cause he had a hard time with second one, died and that's really where it fell apart. Lucky the whm was there for R3.

Pros-Blu spells rock. Dispel, dispelga even, silence, all key. The ability to self-skillchain for nice damage also good.

Cons-I didn't have Utsusemi Ni at the time. Otherwise I would have soloed a bird. Blu needs to have juices at the very least.(or a rdm) We all know our limitation. Having a brd for secondary refresh was nice.

Summary, I think 4x blu/nin + brd and eather a rdm or another brd, flip a coin, would rock these birds.

help me out

Would it be better if you treated this like Double Draconia? like get them all down to like >5% then aga them all at the end that way they don't get stronger.

What would you guys suggest as a good melee setup, aka non burn setup

thanks :D

I did this with my hard earned KS, it was an easy win, for the group I went with knew how to do it. Unfortunately, I got nothing but RA/EX crap, and worthless garbage synth materials, and a Titanis earring which is worthless on Pandemonium. I feel so cheated >.<; I really needed the money, and I didn't even get 50k out of it, I get like over 20k worth of crap out of it. I would have gotten more if I did a BCNM40 (If I had beastman seals for it)

We were doing some Operation Desert Swarm KS' for people and a friend of mine had an orb for this one. Since I wanted a Gravedigger, I told him we would try it. 4xThundaga III, sleepga2, 4xthundaga 3 dispatched them easily. No scythe; but easy for a group of BLMs to do. I'm 0/2 on scythe drops so far, though :( Titanis earring dropped 2/2. Nothing else big for us, though. I did get evokers boots. Now just gotta get SMN to 71 ^_^

Following JackyIGT, guide, we did this BC with 5 x Blm75's and Thf twice. I (blm) was after a Gravedigger, the Thf was after a Coffinmaker. The Thf didn't do any fighting in the BC.

We had 4 of the Blm's cast Thundaga3 and 1 Blm cast ES sleepga2. Shortly after, 4 Blizzaga3 and 1 ES sleepga2. After these 2 spells, all the birds only had a sliver of life left. One more Blizzaga3 (from the blm that cast Sleepga2 the 2nd time) and they were all dead.

We found out that the ES before the Sleepga2 spell is probably not needed (if you have capped enfeeblment). Also, I think this is doable with just 4 Blm's (using the same strategy as in Operation Desert Swarm).. but we did not try it.

I did get my gravedigger, but the coffinmaker didn't drop.

went in with 2 75 blm 75 pld 75 drk 75 rdm 75 whm

we wiped twice both times we managed to take out only one bird.
our problem was keeping them slept it seems like the more you sleep them the more they start resisting .. like the scorpions. no one has beat it yet on our server.. was a real easy fight until we only had 3 left and couldnt get them reslept...

Ok here is the skinny on them birds.
They are all Bards............ Brd/??? their subjob is random @_@ like one used mighty strikes and the other triple attacked us ( thf ability ya?)

for the less fortunate that can't find a 5 blm party i highly suggest blm rdm brd nin combo for this ( fill in jobs with what you see fit i.m.o should be smn and war)

brd and blm can easily sleep them, same as a rdm. If they get a song off you MUST dispel it as quickly as you can ( blm/rdm or brd/rdm O_o??)
brd and rdm can take care of this chore quickly.

maybe a 75 rdm can have luck keeping them silenced >_> cuz a lvl 74 ( enfeebling capped ) rdm couldnt even land the spell.

I tried this BC with nin whm rdm blm war and a rng. We managed to cut down two of the 4 birds. the war bit the dust first because they generated way too much hate with Mighty strikes and the bird decided to triple attack >_>

Rdm and blm had everything under control as far as sleeping them.... Our nin was caught off guard twice with triple attack but the whm was on it with cure V.

maybe my set up could have worked but once the war died 50% of our dmg was gone and the bird had a chance to sing a song ( he sang minuet and minne >_>) since the blm had hate from all the sleeping... it kinda went to rail the blm and then the rdm... and thats when the other two woke up singing madrigal and minne....

fairly simple if you keep the slept birds away from the one you have engaged. that way if a song does go off hopefuly the slept ones wont be hit with it.

They hit hard, they hit fast, heck they even triple attack twice in a row >_>.

I wish you all good luck i hope my insight and opinions help you all out. :D Cheers!

Triple Attack is a THF Job Trait(not ability) all Greater Bird mobs (Peryton, Abraxas, Simurgh, Roc, etc..) use an ability called "Triple Attack".

Just wanted to report my findings from last night. I took the following setup (5 x 74~75BLM) and won the bcnm 7 times. The 6th person was just an orb carrier and on some battles it was just the 5 BLM's.

The strategy was fairly simple. Setup some macros so 4 of the BLM's can attack with Thundaga/Blizzaga-3 at the same time while the 5th BLM casts Elemental Seal + Sleepga2 when the 4 other nukes go off. Then, repeat 2 more times while switching the designated sleeper BLM for their unused Elemental Seals.

Sometimes 1 of the 4 birds will stand still and sing a song while other 3 come charging in the first cast. No need to panic, just have 2-3 of the BLM cast Sleep II on the stray bird and it will get slept.

From our 7 runs, we got 4 gravediggers (yes finally!), 2 coffinmakers, 1 GKT (long name), 3 Damascus Ingots, 1 Orichalcum Ingot, and some lesser value items.

Since I put together this BCNM mainly to get the Gravedigger I was very happy with our results, and the nice money maker drops made the trip even more enjoyable. G'luck everyone!
