Battle Notes

The Promyvion ENMs, capped at level 30, basically mirror the Promyvion Missions for Chains of Promathia. You make your way to the Spire of each Promyvion, then fight a weaker version of the boss you fight in the actual Promyvion Missions. The reward is 18,000 experience divided by the number of people in your party, with a maximum experience gain of 3,000 per person. Winning also gives the party three memory clusters (which are used in Alchemy), and the chance to get rare earrings that give +3 on various stats.

You can enter "You Are What You Eat" and the other Promyvion ENMs with up to an entire alliance, but the experience points reward for doing so would be reduced to 1,000 per person. Each Promyvion ENM is winnable with a balanced party of six. Parties of seven or eight virtually ensure victory.

To start the ENM "You Are What You Eat," you must first talk to Venessa in Ru'Lude Gardens and acquire a key item: Censer of Antipathy. Everyone in your party must have this because you can't fight the ENM boss without it. Make sure everyone has proper foods and medication, Reraise items, and Signet.

It is recommended to bring at least one anima to this fight, to use in case of an emergency.

Strategies

When everyone in your party is ready, enter Promyvion - Dem and work your way up to the Spire of Dem. When you are ready, click on the door inside the Spire and choose the battle You Are What You Eat. You have 30 minutes to defeat the boss, which is an empty NM named Ingester.

The Ingester uses a move that absorbs hit points from party members, and it also spawns Wanderers during the fight. You only need to defeat the main mob to win.

This is the easiest of the three promy ENM bosses. To win, simply:

  • Tank it straight-up
  • Use an anima when the mob is at about 25 percent health if people are getting low on hit points
  • Have someone ready to provoke Wanderers

Note: If anyone dies during the fight, DO NOT TOUCH THE REWARD SPHERE THAT APPEARS AFTER THE BOSS DIES UNTIL EVERYONE IS RAISED. People who are still dead when the sphere is touched will not receive their exp reward.

is the exp given to the job used or is it a scroll that gives exp that you can use on another job

There's a orb that pops in the middle of the battle field when you beat the boss kinda like the chests when you beat a bcnm boss. When someone clicks on it - those who aren't dead & are fairly close get 3000 exp a peice.

Close, but not quite right.

When you complete the ENM, experience points are assigned within a few seconds of the boss dying. This happens automatically. If you are alive, you get 3,000 xp. If you're laying around dead for any reason, you will not get it. Trust me on this one; happened to me on my first run up. I even had Reraise active and didn't hit it in time.

Unlike the Armoury Crates that pop for other ENMs, the orb (called an `Enigmatic Sphere`) will open automatically. Nobody has to touch it. It opens right after the xp is assigned to your surviving teammates.

So... make sure you're alive when the battle ends. ^^

I have to disagree with you Wingchild.

I did this the other night, and I died as well as our NIN and BLM. They key is that no one is to touch the sphere until everyone is raised and very close to the spere. I'm sorry you didn't get the exp on your first run, but someone in your party had to have touched the sphere before you were raised.

As soon as the sphere was touched we all received 3k exp, and the drops.

Did 3 ENM last night. We didn't get the XP until someone hit the Sphere. We designated 1 person to touch.

I know this because we had 1 death and we spent some time raising him. After the raise, we gathered around the Sphere then the person touched it for the "3000xp"

Owned this guy with PLD, RNG, WAR, WAR, WHM, BLM. Dropped 2 Fleeting Clusters and a Burning cluster which was dissapointing.... but the 3k exp was worth it; took about 1 1/2 hours to organize it and get to the top of the spire with my LS. Promyvion-Dem boss is considerably more difficult despite having the same model as Ingester..... he could of at least been a different color lol.
Simple battle.

PT config:

PLD
SAM
THF
SMN
RDM
WHM

Animas used: 0

Skills -

Promyvion Barrier - Defense boost.

Vanity Drive - Damage attack, one target.

Quadratic Continuum - Damage attack, one target.

Fission - spawns a Neosatiator. This is a special attack the Promy-Dem boss gets and can be shut down by Hysteroanima.

In addition to Fission, the Promy-Dem ENM boss will spawn Wanderers from time to time. He does not spawn just one; he'll continue to spawn them until he is killed. Fortunately the kill here is easy enough that you may not see more than one or two Wanderers stalking around.

The Wanderers are about as hard as a Stray.

Fun fight. But, it used a mass paralyze attack on us near the end of its life with a very large range that even caught our mages.

We did not use animas for this fight either. Lots of fun. Luck to all. Enjoy. =)

Dropped: Bitter Cluster x2 & Radiant Cluster
