Mission Orders

To capture the mysterious boy, you must first locate the fourth mothercrystal. To do this, you have been ordered to travel to the nations of Bastok, Windurst, and San d'Oria to learn of the Multinational Expedition that was held nearly thirty years ago.

Walkthrough

After cutscene, the mission divides into 2 parts - SanDoria route and Windurst route. Route details are given below. You are free to go through either route. You can also go through both routes at the same time since there's no need to complete one route to start the next. After completing both routes, head back to Metalworks and talk to Cid.

M 3-3A: SanDoria Route (Emerald Waters)

3-3 A1: Enter North Sandoria to start this leg of the mission.

3-3 A2(Vicissitudes): Talk to Arnau the priest in the Cathedral. Next talk to Chasalvige in the Manuscript Room on the left.

3-3 A3(Descendents of Line Lost): Next go to Carpenter's Landing via the (E-6) Entrance Point in Jugner Forest. Look for a NPC called Guilloud beside a boulder at (H-10). Talking to him will spawn a Malboro mob named Overgrown Ivy. LV75 character with nin or whm sub should be sufficient to defeat it however watch out for it's Hundred Fist ability.

3-3 A4 (Louverance): After defeating Overgrown Ivy, talk to Guilloud again, then return to South San Doria and look for Hinaree at the Manor (B-6). This ends the Sandorian leg.

M 3-3B: Windurst Route (Memories of a Maiden)

3-3 B1: Enter Windurst waters to start this leg of the mission.

3-3 B2 (Comedy of Errors): Head to Rhinostery right-hand room (J-9) and talk to Ohbiru-Dohbiru. Next go to Winwalls and talk to Yoran-Moran at his house. Then go back to Windurst waters to Timbre Timbers Tavern (F-10) and talk to Kyume-Romeh.

3-3 B3 (Comedy of Errors): Go to the southern portion of Windurst waters to the house of Honoi-Gomoi (E-7). Talk to Honoi-Gomoi to receive a key item Mimeo Mirror. Go back to Winwalls again to talk to Yoran-Oran for the method to repair the mirror.

To repair the mirror, you need to go to Attohwa Chasm to find a point marked "Loose Sand" (K-8). Checking the point will spawn a Antlion mob called Lioumere. Try to fight it away from the Loose Sand spawn, if it returns to the base, its HP will be recovered. Defeat it and check the Loose Sand again to get another key item Mimeo Egg. Next, you'll need to climb the intricate mountain of Parrademo Tor to reach the summit within a time limit of 1 hour before the egg disappears and check a point marked "Cradle of Rebirth" to get 3 Mimeo Feathers as key item. If you can't get to the top in time, you'll have to check the Loose Sand again (without any antlion fights) and try again. The starting point for the climb up is located somewhere to the southeast corner of the Tor near the Loose Sand. The path is very narrow with no natural barriers so one wrong step and u fall down. However along the way there are some smog barriers that are either permanent or temporary. If you encounter a permanent smog barrier, it usually indicates that you need to continue by falling one step down to the path below. Try to work your way up the summit in a anti-clockwise direction. Return to Windurst and talk to Yoran-Oran.

3-3 B4 (Exit Stage Left): Go to Windurst Walls and talk to Yoran-Oran, then go tp Port Windurst and talk to Yujuju (M-6), then Windurst Waters northern (G-8) and talk to Tosuka-Porika, then go talk to Yoran-Oran again to finish the mission.

It is not necessary to talk to CID to finish this mission because that is part of the next mission, PM 3-4 Tending Aged Wounds.

Soloed this as DRK75/SAM37.

Did the Antilon NM first, deffinately the easier NM. Took a while to actually find the loose Sand without a map, but got their eventually, as someone else said, just kinda run on the outside of the rocky maze and you'll come across it on the east side.
The fight was easy, gained 300 TP via Meditate and killing surrounding mobs. Used Hasso, popped the NM and ran back to get distance between it and the sand, I actually lost hate, so repulled it with Poison II it ran back to me. Fired off Spiral Hell, used Meditate again, it used its special attack and started to run back. I quickly cast Bind to stop it, and ran back to it and got 100tp after a couple more its, Guillotine, couple more hits......and it's dead. I didn't even lose a quarter HP.

Ivy was a little tougher, hits super fast. Got 300tp again with Meditate and killing mobs. Used Seigan+Third Eye and cast Dread Spikes, then immediately talked to the NPC to spawn the Ivy. Used Spiral hell stright away and took almost half its HP away. Dread Spikes alone took it down to a quater HP, used Absorb TP, Guillotine and it's dead. It took me down to half HP.

I just did this on my 2nd char as WAR.. the first run didn't go so hot on the Ivy lol..

I didn't have excellent gear, setup as War/Nin was Woodsville/Maneater, PCC, Hauby, Suppa/Assault earring, Exorcist Hose, AF feet, Walahra turban, amemet +1, chivalrous chain, dual snipers.

I built tp, buffed up with a meatkabob, Aggressor, Berserk, spawned, popped Mighty Strikes and Warcry, crits were doing 185 each, Rampage did 1800, brought mob down to about 55% and I thought I had it in the bag..

But the mob had other ideas, hitting me at nearly 100% accuracy for 80~ish a pop at 100 fists speed. The fight lasted 15 seconds with me dying, the mob at 40% ><

Now granted, Berserk wasn't the best idea but dang, you don't expect to take a beating like that on a supposedly easy mob.

So I did some gear swapping, switched to BLU sub, equipped cocoon and all the VIT and HP spells I could. Threw on NQ Adaman set, swapped out rings for phalanx and unyielding.

Went back, built TP, popped Tav Taco this time, buffed with defender and aggressor. Cast cocoon (this put my defense at 860). Popped mob, 2 houred and opened rampage for 1400 (surprised it did this much considering the massive diff in attack str and acc from before). Mob was only hitting me for 20-35 this time and it was missing much more often. When it got low it stopped attacking much and just spammed Bad Breath, first one hit for 230, the rest only did 35.

Won just after cocoon wore. Finished with 300/1300 HP (Taru War hehe). All in all defense was the way to go for this. I recommend BLU sub if this fight is giving you difficulty. It made a ginormous difference for me.

**Forgot to mention

You don't HAVE to enter Carpenter's Landing from Jugner. Can just zone in from N. Sandy once you get the CS in the chapel. Take the ferry (there's always one that's broken down and one after it). The ferry drops you off 2 min walk from the NM :)

I fell off on the horseshoe part of the path like 10 times, no matter how careful I was. Finally I tried switching to first person mode for that part and had no problems. If you can't seem to stay on the path in certain areas switch to First-Person Mode and give it a shot.

Did both parts of this mission last night.

Overgrown Ivy isn't that bad, but it does hit fast. I had someone with me just to make sure I didn't run into any issues.

Lioumere was very easy, even with just 2 people. Popped it, opened with a Circle Blade > Steel Cyclone > Detonation skillchain that brought it down to about 35%. It attempted to run back, I hit it, and it was pretty much over after that.

The mountain was tedious, but not overly difficult. TAKE YOUR TIME. You have around 30 minutes before the Mimeo Jewel loses it's light.

Ok seriously, I have been playing this game and many mmorpgs my whole life, this mission by far is the worst experience I've EVER had in a game. The antilan mob was a peice of cake, just voke the thing when its heading back, I know monk special ability will send it back because I had a monk with me, and me as 75 smn. Just did Garudas Predator Claws once and it brought it to 20% health, mnk finished it off.

But for the climbing the rock, **** THAT. Seriously Squarenix must be laughing a god dam storm up when they made that peice of ****. Took us 2 and a half hours to get up it. Unless you have a tip top graphics card ( which in no means I have ) you will need to squint your eyes and paste your eyes to the monitor to see some of these ledges. You will get confused, you will get angry, you will want to throw your monitor out the window, **** this stupid mission I hope every *** who had anything to do with the making of this rock dies in a fire as well as there children, pets, and everything/everyone they hold dear.

Thank you.
Overgrown Ivy....

Confirmed soloable as 75DRK/37NIN. Yeah, the thing hits almost like it thinks it's a chigoe, but only got to attempt one Bad Breath on me (only blinding me but it was nearly dead so not a problem). Had utsu ichi up and 100 tp before talking to the old man, put up utsu ni when shadows went down, guillotined, then put up dread spikes. Dread Spikes won't be 100% effective in soaking hits, but Drain and Drain II can help. Absorb-TP helps too. 2nd Guillotine almost killed it.

Haven't done the antlion part yet... we'll see how that goes.

Hello all, me again. Will try and provide some help on this one. Did this last night with our CoP Static minus one player. 5 person party with 3 70 and 2 75

If I remember correctly, these were the jobs listings:

Drg/Whm (to help tele us around) 75
Rdm/? (whm or blm I am sure) 70
Pld/War (me) 70
Thf/Nin 70
Drg/War 75

Carpenters Landing NM was just a joke. All melee's built up some TP. I spawned it and had enough time to get off a Voke and my WS macros and it was wasted. Probably didnt last more then 30 seconds.

Attohwa Chasm was just frustrating like you read about. One is getting to or finding the Loose Sand. I didn't have a map of area but it felt like you have to go the way you don't think you need to go to get there. The black smoke does not disappear down here, never did for us anyways. Just walk around the perimeter, I think, and you will run into it kinda. That NM was just as easy. Built up TP, I again spawned it, pulled it back some and we all went to town. Again, fight lasted maybe 30 seconds or so.

I attempted to go up the mountain but got turned around and got back to the Loose Sand to try again another night with it being so late. One member of the static made it up on his first egg so it is doable without practice.

Overall, not to hard just a lot of running around...nothing new there right. Hope something in this post helps you. For us, these NM's were very very easy and the second one never made it back to spawn point to heal.

i was just talking to the guy and i did not expect this mob to pop, i was just there randomly lol, it scared the hell out of me. i was 65BST and got hit to low hp quite fast, i didn't attack it though. i was trying to call beast but jug wasn't equiped, but then i equiped it and my tiger just soloed it easily, so i guess it should be ok for any lvl 65 that is ready for it

It was silly easy as 70rdm and I would suspect many level 70ish jobs could solo it.

Not sure why anyone would have a problem with the silly mountain. I climbed by myself without the use of any guides or hints. Made it to the top on my first try in about 15 minutes. The only people I can see having problems with this thing are the types of people that need a PL to get decent EXP. Just go out and try the damn thing, instead of looking all around for help. Help that you really don't need.

I can't get onto CoP 3-4 and I don't know why...
I've talked to everybody twice or more (not counting Cid, he has about 7 times on him atm) and i STILL can't get to CoP 3-4...
Completed San D'Oria leg and Windy leg, talked to Cid and he gives me a 5sec CS talking about some airship thing. I thought this was the CS and headed to the Tenshodo, but i got nothing and it just let me into it. I don't get it...

If anyone knows what i'm doing wrong, please post here :(

The video wouldn't work for me. I used this: http://www.koolaid-ffxi.org/linkshell/space/Parradamo+Tor
If you can't watch the video further down this page or use this website, you might find this incredibly hard.

It took me a long time to realize there is a SMALL hard to see path that scales up the mountain. With no map it was hard to find as well. I did get it done though, Kermlt 66pld/nin on Fenrir server helped me do this on my 63smn/whm. I'M READY FOR DIABLOS BABY!! YEAAA!!!!!

BRING ON THE PAIN!

Goodluck everyone, use the links on this page.

I just solo'd this as 70Rdm/Smn...too easy. Just keep gravity on it and bind as it tries to run back. It never resisted any spells and I only had to recast stoneskin once. As for climbing the mountain check out www.yousuckatclimbing.com
Too Weak
# Jan 10 2007 at 3:06 AM Rating: Default
1st off, this isn't a level 75 mob, it hits my 60 PLD for 2-18 damage and 27 on a critical, so it's complete bullshyt. its more like a level 50-54 mob. I did this NM in with a party of 60PLD(me) 59RDM, 58BLU, and 59BRD. took a minute but the NM went down. I can say that its HP is forever going though, but its attacks and offense is crap. after ward the RDM left and the rest of use spent about 1-2rhs trying to climb that dam hill.

oh btw, when you do the windy section of this quest, it doesnt mention that Yoran oran or w/e actualy "takes" your key items when you talk to him, I logged and completly forgot the storyline and was loosing my mind on where my Key item was. he also does this when you give him the 3 feathers

Pull the NM away, and turn him so you are between him and the spawn point.

Configuration:

Loose Sand -You- Lioumere

Experience:

IF, you can get a RDM or /rdm to help you, all u have to do is Cast Gravity and/or Bind to prevent him going back.

I had the same problem when I soloed him 75.RDM/NIN, when he ran back to the Loose Sand, my Thunder III's weren't casting fast enough to provoke him back. So, decided to pull him away about 40 (if u have distance program) and place myself in the middle of him and the Loose Sand. I made sure that Gravity was on him at all times, because during the times he tried to run back, I casted bind on him to stop him and that seemed to work the best for me to kill him.

Most sites say he is a 75 mob, but he's rather easy to kill.

PS. Good Luck going up the mountain if you are not familiar with the path. Have a friend escort you that knows it well.
