Mission Orders

To break the Wyrmking's pact, you must locate the Keeper of the Apocalypse as quickly as possible. To do that you must first learn more of Al'Taieu, as well as find Prishe and the mysterious boy.

Walkthrough

Similar to chapter 3's double forks, you can progress on the 3 separate forks simultaneously.

The Pursuit of Paradise, Tenzen Path

PM 5-3A1: Visit the ??? spot at (G-6) in La Theine for cutscene.

PM 5-3A2: Go to the tower closest to Fei-Yin (J-8) to enter the LV50 capped Pso'Xja. As you progress in there, checking the Stone Doors usually will activate the trap which spawns a Gargolye (On a run, every door spawned the Gargolye). If the Gargolye pops, you have to kill it to open the door. The path in here is a long and winding one with many stone doors to open. You will be fighting some tonberries, bats and magic pots along the way. At the end point, cast sneak and take the elevator down to the Avatar Gate for a cutscene.

PM 5-3A3: Go to Upper Jeuno infirmary and talk to Monberaux (G-10). Then go to the armory room in Ru'Lude Palace, and talk to Monberaux again.

PM 5-4A4: Exit through Upper Jeuno to Batallia. Walk out to the stone gates and turn left just beside the gate. You will find a hidden "???" mark on the ground. Check it for a cutscene. After the cutscene, check the ??? mark again to get a Key Item. Next head to Lower Delkfutt's 1st floor and check the Cermet Gate at (H-5) to spawn an NM.

PM 5-3A5: Next head to Beaucedine again and go to the tower nearest to the Battalia exit (H-10) to enter the LV60 capped Pso'Xja for a cutscene. This tower has many one way passages, to get to the Avatar gate follow the right wall until you get to I-8. once in the first room at I-8 head west into the next room and drop into the hole. In the room below head south and around the turn to a room at H-9. Head North in that room to get to the elevator. At the bottom of the elevator there will be some Diremites, one goblin and an elemental if there is a weather condition. At the bottom head to the Avatar gate to get a CS. After this, report back to Cid to end this route.

Where Messengers Gather, Ulmia Path

PM 5-3B1: Go to South San d'Oria (A-6) Trader's Manor and talk to Hinaree.

PM 5-4B2: Enter Port San d'Oria for event.

PM 5-3B3: Go to the Cathedral at North San d'Oria and talk to Chasalvige inside the manuscript room. Then go to Windurst Waters' Rhinostery and talk to Kerutoto. Then go to Windurst Walls and visit Yoran-Oran.

You will be told to go to Attohwa Chasm to find the 3 Tracker Mithras. They are waiting at the Boneyard Gully BC. This is a LV50 capped BC fight with the 3 Shikaree Mithras. Because of their WS spams, your PT might die to it pretty fast if without organized tactics. Together with a dragon call and a rabbit summon, there is a total of 5 mobs attacking. It will be best if you can sleepga them with BLM or lullaby them with a bard but only Shikaree Z has a higher probability being slept. At the beginning of the battle, have a PLD aim at Shikaree Z first and use Invincible (or get a brave tanker) to get hate and let the Summoner use Astral Flow (use avatar according to the elemental day) on the 5 mobs. This should reduce their HP to more than half. If anyone has a Siredon Grill item, this would be the time to use them. It would stop the Mithra you are fighting with to halt TP regen, so it won't keep spamming WS. As for the Summoner, quickly restore MP with HiEthers or Super Ether and use the 2nd Astral Flow. This should kill off Shikaree Z and the 2 pet summons, leaving Shikaree X and Y. If this works, the battle is half won! Concentrate on Y and then X cautiously. If the Summoner can still use Astral Flow, by all means go ahead ^_^. Please get a lot of Hi Potions along.

PM 5-3B4:

Next you have to go to Ulegerand Range to reach Bearclaw Pinnacle for another BC fight. To go to Bearclaw Pinnacle, go westward thru the first cave and you will reach a wide open area with an upslope with some Buffalo mobs roaming around. Somewhere around (J-10) there is a pithole on the ground. Drop down that hole and walk eastwards initially. You will come to a T-junction and walk Northward.

Bearclaw Pinnacle BC is a LV60 capped fight. This fight involves 1 Snoll Tzar bomb boss. This boss is a bit... well... tricky. You are given 45 seconds (yes...seconds -_-; ) to defeat the bomb, similar to the timb bomb BCNM. The bomb will grow in size 3 times (long time FF fans should find that familiar LOL) before it explodes. And whether you die to that explosion or not, you will be expelled from the BC and the fight fails. Therefore you need to do mucho damage and FAST! When I went, we had a PT config of RNG, SAM, RDM, RDM, RDM, SMN. RNG had a SAM sub, while SAM subbed RNG and both the attackers gained TP to 100% before entering BC. We also brought along Hi-reraiser potion since we don't have a WHM. Once in the BC, do the necessary buffs. At the start, RNG n SAM spams as many Sidewinders as possible, and the 3 RDMs chainspell Fire2, SMN use Ifrit Astral Flow. If anyone has Shu-Meyu Salt item, this would be a good time to use it if you think you can win the battle. The Salt will increase the time limit by 15 seconds.

If (touch wood) in the event, you failed the BC and survive, you will be booted out of the BC. Also you will have a status effect of Slip where you lose 32HP per 3 seconds. If you have very low HP remaining, you may die off. If you already died, dun reraise yourself too quickly.

After the fight, go back to Cid and report to him.

Past Sins, Louverance Path

PM 5-3C1: Go to Tavnazian Safehold and talk with Despachiaire.

PM 5-3C2 - Southern Legend: Go to Windurst Woods and talk to Perih Vashai at (K-7).

PM 5-3C3: Next go to Bibiki Bay and take the ManaClipper to Purgonorgo Isle and go to the south bay (H-11) where you'll find a NPC WarMachine. Check it for a cutscene. After that, visit Yoran Oran in Windurst Walls for another cutscene.

PM 5-3C4: After the next BC each member will need a Gold Key (rare). These drop from several Goblins in Newton Movalpolos, including Goblin Fireman, Goblin Packman, and a few others. Next go back to WinWalls and talk with Yoran-Oran. Then go to Movalpolos Oldton to activate another cutscene. Head to (K-10) where you can see the NPC moblins and the Rusty Levers. If you have a Snow Lily (Rare/Ex) item with you, you can trade it to Tarnotik NPC moblin on the left who will warp you directly to the BC entrance. Beware this only applies to the person using it, not the whole PT. If someone doesn't have a Snow Lily, you have to get 3 person to activate the 3 Levers at the same time to raise the bridge to cross to Movalpolos Newton and use at least 3 Firesand items to activate the Furnace to turn the Turnstile Gates for the PT to reach the BC...very troublesome. Snow Lily can be obtained from Ulegerand Tigers or Cwn Awwn dogs at Ulegerand Range. You can also pay for the solo ENM and be warped there. Any way you can get to Mine Shaft #2716 will work.

PM 5-4C5: Mine Shaft #2716 BC 60 cap 4 Moblins and one Bugbear. The Bugbear is Bugbby (WAR/MNK) and uses Mighty Strikes. The 4 Moblins are Chekochuk (BLM), Movamuq (WHM), Swipostik (THF), and Trikotrak (RDM). They can not be slept and but they can be silenced, bound, normal debuffs, ect. The 4 Moblins to not hit hard and are not as bad as Bugbby. The main problem in the BC is controlling 5 mobs that can't be slept. It is recomened that you take out the WHM, BLM, RDM, THF, then Bugbby in that order. Make sure to silence the BLM, he likes to cast sleepga and knows AM. All of the mobs talk in /say to each other and request support of eachother, usually resulting in the others going to fight whoever has hate on the one that called. This isn't strong, a voke or flash will usually get their attention back. Our party set up was PLD, WHM, MNK, BLM, RDM, RNG and we did just fine.

After fight return to Cid for CS, then return to #2716. If you the solo ENM to get out to the BC then you just have to pay 2k again to get warped there. Trade your gold key to the BC to get a CS, and then return to Cid to complete the path.

1/1 on mithra

1/1 on snoll

Thought of the best set up I could think of for both and good strategies which are pretty much the same as every ones.

Mithra, blm(me) smn smn pld whm sam( was a blm till he fell asleep on us )
Pld went in voke 2hr, both smns astral flowed and I finish a mithra with freeze sam finished one with his ws. Pld 2hr wore and the drk mithra i guess self sc him to death, he was a taru. BUt mithra went donw right after that.

Snoll, drk/sam(me), sam/rng, sam/war, pld whm and rdm

We gave a salt to whm, pld and rdm to use in that order.
I meditated to 120 and let timer cooldown, and we started. Buffed, pld used a wing for tp ran in Voked, 2hr, ws, flash, shield bashed. Whm used a salt. I poped souleater/last resort and guillotine for 900. I had pld cure me after my 1st ws. Rdm is chainspelling fire2, sam/rng spamin sidewinder, other sam watever ws a sam has with Gkatana. Tossed on bloodweapon, wing and another guilloting. Meditate swing a few and use and x-potion+2 and guillotine a 3rd time. IN the end i poped a lil over 3.5k damage as a drk/sam

I was 0/4 until tonight on the Snoll... the old 3 RDMs to nuke it to death doesn't work anymore since that stupid elemental resistance build-up in a mob, it make this pretty hard. When I finally did manage to get two SAMs together for this, it went really smoothly and we won. SAM SAM RNG PLD RDM BLM was our setup. Good luck everyone.

***spoiler alert***
I got the cutscene on purnurugo isle with the warmachine, then decided to go farm my gold key. When I entered Oldton Movalopos, I got a cutscene of Louverance talking to me and then he spots the mysterious creepy kid everyone has been searching for. So I continue, get the key, and go to windy to get my cutscene there, but now Yoran will not do anything(except talk about the qst he always does.) Did going to oldton 1st bypass that cutscene, or have I missed a step? Is there any time delay I need to take after getting the cutscene with warmachine?

Ok, my party killed the snoll tonight (1/3) and I progressed to get my CS for the next BC fight (Louverance Path). The thing is, I thought I had already done some of them long ago but had forgotten which I had done. So I decided to do the CS in the Safehold and talk to Despachiaire. I got a CS, then went to Windy and got no CS when I talked to Perih Vashai. I went to Bibiki island and the warmachine did nothing as well. My LS tells me that they have to be done in order, so I proceed to do them all over again. Still the same thing happened and I got no CS. I thought ok, maybe I did them all and it's ok. I go to farm a gold key in Newton Movapolas and zoning into Oldton I should have gotten a CS there as well. Nothing. What is the problem? Have I done them all and it is all good, or it is all messed up? If it is all messed up, how can I fix it?

Snoll setup: NIN DRK MNK MNK SAM RDM

DRK used Mercurial Kris with Souleater + Blood Weapon

MNKs both opened with Hundred Fists

SAM used Meikyo Shisui...

We brought 1 salt

End result: I (NIN) ran in first, Provoke, Hojo + Kurayami (since no way I'd be tanking over merc kris drk...). By the time i'd casted those enfeebles, he was at 40% health. RDM was chainspell curing the drk to keep him in white HP. I used my salt - he was at 15% by the time salt went off. I Mijin Gakure for 800, snoll died 3 or 4 seconds later.

As for the snoll fight:...
I got lucky and went with 4 BLM sam and drg/sam (me) I went in and pentathrust to get hate. Meditate, jump, high jump and penta again before the BLM's got first round of AM off. Sam was using salt at the begining. After first round of AM, 1 BLM died then RR while SAM 2hrd and got hate. I used 2nd salt while BLM's unleashed 2nd wave of AM and snoll was toast. Looking back salt was prob unnecessary as we killed him in about 40sec but I wanted to be safe about it. Good luck to everyone.

As for the mithra tracker fight...
If you are willing to RR this fight is winnable with almost any setup. Focus on dropping them 1 by 1 with as much damage as you can muster. Try to kill at least 1 before you wipe the first time. RR and go after 2nd. You have plenty of time in this BCNM and you can wipe up to 3 times and still get the win. Order should be Z, X, Y. The reason for this order is that Z and X have pets. If u kill them then wipe, the pets disapear and it makes the fight much easier. Remember to kill them 1 by 1 and you will be fine. Good luck to everyone.

Basically this mission is about patience and perserverance. Try to find a group of ppl to do all of the paths at once. This will make it easier to coordinate what missions everyone is on. Try to at least do a complete path with the same group. This mission will prob take 1 full day to complete or 2-3 evenings if u split the paths up.

My party went 1/3 on the mithra BC the other day. Setup was NINx2, BLMx2, BRD, WHM. I don't recommend anyone using this strategy for winning the fight, but it does make for a good fall back plan. If you have taken out the DRG and wiped don't panic because the fight is not lost. Just be sure that everyone has used reraise items to avoid wasting time on your WHM/healer having to raise people.

While our strategies failed us the fist 2 times, the third time we just kinda fubar'd the strategy all together. We made sure to take out Shik Z as this is an impossible fight to win if you do not kill her first. After we dropped her our BLM's and BRD were already dead so the rest of us wiped.
*Note that when you wipe after killing the DRG her pet will depop*
I (WHM) reraise and start raising everyone (BLM's assisted as to save time). After everyone was up again we rested to full and began to work on the BST/NIN. For any party using a NIN tank be aware that the BST uses Evisceration and it will make quick work of your tank. After we killed the BST, we made full attack on the DRK who btw spams guillotine and vorpal sycthe so mages take caution and be sure to have echo drops.
*For any party using a similar setup having 2xBLM, double cast Freeze on Iceday to Shikare Z only dropped her hitpoints to 40%*

Remember as other mentioned below. Talk to Windurst Waters' Rhinostery's Kerutoto at least 3 times. Most likely your 1st cut scene is giving you a key item to get Diablo Prime only. Then talk to Kerutoto again, he is only sleeping. Then right talk to Kerutoto 3rd time right away, you now should get the cs you suppose should see for COP.

* Don't need to zone. just keep clicking and talking to the Keruototo is fine.

Not sure if anyone has posted this before, but, if you fail Snoll Tzar and want a quick way to get your 2 hours back, go to a besieged, and with the new update they will now issue with a revitalizer, this will get your 2 hour back without you having to wait, however sometimes there may be a wait for your besieged, hope this helps some people and saved sometime

You do not need a SMN whatsoever for Mithra Trackers fight, I don't see why everyone makes such a big deal over it. My static went 1/3 without SMN, but that was because the first time we didn't really think it through, and the second time there was a little glitch in the strategy, but it could have EASILY been fixed that we really should have won on that run. Either way, the third try was so incredibly easy that I can't believe we lost twice before it.

Setup: BLM WHM PLD MNK COR RNG

PLD goes in, Flashes Shik Z, Invincibles and brings them to our camp. We zerg ShikZ. Once Invincible runs out, BLM ES+Sleepgas. Melees start on the wyvern, takes it out quickly, then starts on ShikX. About halfway through ShikX, ShikY wakes and starts beating on PLD, but at this point, their efforts are fruitless. We take out X, then the rabbit, then Y. No one close to , clean fight.

The only reason we decided to take out the pets is because they were just a nuisance and we really didn't expect the fight to go so easy. In retrospect, the BLM could have slept the pets very easily and made the fight go quicker without Shikaree Y ever waking up before we were finished with X.

In response to Kayberry's post:

I agree 100% that w/e the party setup, (tank of some sort 100% neseccary imo), this fight is totally winable provided each member comes prepared with meds.

However the challenge might even be greater than the 'zerg' method. First lemme say, if you have the luxury of 5 RDM, and there are no serious mistakes, it's no contest, you don't even need a salt. Also, DD heavy setups have proven quite successful.

Which is harder? XD DD pt dumping TP and 2 hours as fast as humanly possible? Or trying to a) coordinate the use of 6 salts while b) trying to keep a tank and everyone else alive while c) doing as much damage as you can.

lol idk the point of this post.. I read Keyberry's and felt a response coming on. Again, I agree, if everyone brings a salt (remember they are rare, so each person can only carry 1) and medication, icarus wing, hi pots, ethers.. w/e your job needs.. just about any PT setup *can* win. But even with 2 minutes.. that lil ball of snow is one nasty sucker. :) Fun gaming everyone!!

I didn't say that heavy DD setups were not successful, but not everybody has the luxury of bringing a heavy DD setup to the fight; and an appropriate DD setup may not always be available. The heavy DD setups were the first to be successful, and everyone now swears by them; however, since that time the heavy DD setups have progressed beyond the mission and are heavily resistant to going back to that mission BC. Because of this, not-as-heavy DD setups believe that they have the firepower to zerg the mission, don't bother to use any or as many salts, and end up failing repeatedly. And everyone can level up a heavy DD job to 60, and appropriate subjobs to 30, but it would take much less time to farm a stack of cluster cores and do the fight with the jobs that are available.

I'm positive that a stun order was coordinated with Diabolos with the groups that have passed it (except when it was easily zergable by the 5x BLM setups) because it was necessary to do so. You also likely had a WHM available or at least someone /whm to wake everyone up if Nightmare got through the stuns. So coordinating a salt order should not be considered an unorthodox strategy.

And I've already explained about the Tzar getting stronger as he grows, and that salts delay this growth Becuase of this, the tank will have an easier tine holding the hate; the healer can actually manage the curing, and you have triple the amount of time you'd normally have to do damage, so there is less of a need to balls-against-the walls push for damage.

There seems to be an unwavering idea that beating the snoll tzar with the fewest number of salts used is the most efficient way of doing this fight, focusing exclusively on damage output as top priority, stigmatizing non-heavy DD jobs and then going 0/12+ before finally succeeding. And then, feeling so disgusted by the fight that they refuse to go back and help others through it, giving the next groups of people to attempt the fight the idea that this is the only method of beating it, so nothing ever gets learned.

The thing with the Promathia mission BC's is that the majority of them give you farmed items that, if everyone brings them to the battle, they will give you the clear advantage in the fight. The Snoll Tzar is NOT the exception.

The tzar fight without salts used is only 45 seconds long, before it uses Hypo. Combust. If every person brings a salt and uses it, it will extend the fight time to 2 mins 15 seconds.

If nobody uses salts, each person will only have 45 seconds of damage output. If everyone uses a salt, they will lose 15 seconds of damage output, but everyone else gains 15 seconds - which means that each person will have 2 full minutes of damage output. It doesn't matter if it's the BLM or the SAM or the THF or the PLD or the WHM that uses the salt, if everyone else uses a salt as well, everyone gets 2 minutes of damage output. This conclusively dispels the argument that your job's DoT would be irreparably harmed by using a salt; the next person's salt will make up for it.

Second, as the Snoll Tzar gets bigger, so does the damage he outputs. By coordinating your salts to take effect as soon as the last one wears off, Snoll Tzar will not be able to produce the 1K+ Hiemal Storms that will wipe a tank in one shot; will not have a fast TP Regen - and with the Tzar's damage gimped, even a WHM can participate with healing, DS Erase (with Veil) and Banish damage output. If you can coordinate a stun order for an NM, you can coordinate salt useage.

If everyone brings salts, and you coordinate your useage properly, there is no doubt in my mind that any working EXP PT would be able to get past the Tzar in one attempt. The fight does NOT have to be zerged; less zergable setups need more salts to succeed. SO, if you're failing for the 12th time, take some time, farm some clusters, and bring more salts to the fight. It's easier to extend the fight by 15 seconds than it is to cram 4% more damage into the same amount of time.

My CoP static last night did this fight and won with unorthodox party set-up and tactics.

Set-up was: Pld/War, War/Nin, Rdm/Blm, Drg/Sam, Drg/Sam, Drg/War

Now I know what you're saying: 3 Drgs?!

Strategy was simple:

PLD - Would run in Provoke, Invincible and use his salt

RDM - Would Chainspell and spam Fire 2

WAR - Use an Icarus Wing for 100% TP, use Warcry, Aggressor, Rampage and then Mighty Strikes.

Drg/War - Use an Icarus Wing for 100% TP and use Berserk, see DRG/SAM below for the rest.

Drg/Sam - Meditate to 300% TP, use Hasso, all 3 Drgs would open with Penta Thrust. Jump, High Jump followed by Spirit Surge. Jump, High Jump again, Penta Thrust, the Drg/Sams would then use their Icarus Wings, Penta Thrust again followed by all 3 DRGs using Super Jump.

Long story short: the Snoll was defeated in short order with only 1 salt used.

Let me point out that every one in the fight had a salt to use.

Longest part of the fight was using Meditate up to 300% TP.

Basically I voke first DRK SATA SE LR Guiltine for 1010 off nin then nin blade jin impact voked that kept hate on her til she died and she blow up. We had no death in bc save nin a few outside lucky for rr2 items.

I was luck i just had to scaff down all my hi pots warp and run inside mh w/ like 20 hp to spare.

But all in all it's possible for nin to tank this but does require a thf or sub thf.

I finished the Snoll Fight tonight. Setup was SAM PLD SMN SMN(me) BLM BLM. Did the normal buffs and all. We all had a salt to use too. We had it planeed out what everyone would and went in. PLD and SAM startt off with their WS, BLM uses Flare and me and other SMN both summon Ifrit and AF with him. Battle went pretty well in the beginning, we used our salts in unison and were doing good then halfway the bomb got serious. It used Heitmel Storm? that hit the PLD for over 1k dmg and he fell.

Then used the attack on the SAM and she fell. Close to death from the spells and Inferno. Thyen Cold wave took out the one BlM and the PLD again (he reraised). At the end it was just me and the other SMN thng was just about dead. I had used 2 AF alrteady and was getting the MP for my 3rd when saw my Ifrit had died I quickly Summoned as fast a I could. During this the other Ifrit had the hate. Just after I summon The Ifrit falls. I quick whip out another Inferno and BAM Snoll Tzar is defeated.

We were all like YES!! It took us 16 min but oh well. Needless to say everyone cept me succumbed to Frost (though it almost got me too). So I had to Raise the SMN and BLM :P. I didnt even use my Salt for the Fight. Other then the deaths fight went pretty well. 1/1 on that thing^^. Oh and by the way, There is no "Slip" Status, whoever wrote that is quite mistaken. The Snoll Tzar uses "Cold Wave" which gives "Frost" effect and THAT does the -32hp a tic.

sam/rng Vs Snoll
# Oct 26 2006 at 1:47 PM Rating: Decent
Has anyone tried, or have any logical opinion about going with 2-3 sam/rng to that? Like... 3 sam/rng, 1 pld, 1 brd and whatever else can fill last spot.

With Jaridah set, + Archer's knife rather then a GKT we can get very high rng acc, plus the fact we'll be perfectly able to count on sharpshot for this quick fight. Each of the sams could do 6-7 Sidewinders with very high accuracy, plus the damage from Barrage. Anyone knows if that could work?

Did this fight last night with my linkshell, Mad Sheep on Kujata server.
I figured I'd post the strategy we used because it was very successful, (even though we did wipe the first time because the BLM forgot to use Manafont and had no MP.. Snoll Tzar was at 1% and we ran out of time. :x)

Anyway, we ran to Beseiged and used Revitalizer to get our 2 hours back.. but ended up having to wait full 2 hours anyway due to the "Medicated" effect the melee's recieved from using "Icarus Wing".

Our setup: Mnk/sam (me), Rdm/blm x2, Pld/war, Blm/whm, and Rng/sam

*each melee had Icarus wing
*rng and pld each had a salt (though we only used 1 ftw)

Our strategy:

- Enter, and the /sam Meditate about 240TP each (pld uses I. wing)
*after we had TP we let Meditate timer reset for use during fight

- Buff up and approach the Snoll Tzar (careful to not aggro prematurely)
(I 'mnk' charged a chi blast with about 5-7 boosts, and used a blink
band and third eye, dodge, and focus before engaging)

The fight:

- PLD Invincible,Provoke, Flash, and Spirits Within
- RNG used salt first while I chi blast, and start Hundred Fists
- RNG unloads after salt, Barrage, Sidewinders, EES.. everything he got.
- RDM's ChainSpell and begin using Fire, Fire II (at start of fight)
- PLD used Salt next (and was basically useless after that XD )
- BLM manafont, Flare, Firaga 12 or something, and Flare again..

The aftermath:

lol: Everyone's 2 hour was still up at the end of the fight. (I D/C'd
during the CS after the fight... THANKFULLY when I logged back in I had the win, the point is I would like to have seen how much DMG I was responsible for, but oh well)
Everyone was alive after the fight, but 'Slip' (-32 hp every 3 seconds) killed us all. No one cared, we were /psych we beat it and then everyone home pointed. It was 1:30 in the morning..
Winning this fight is totally possible with out any Salts, but they are highly recommended. I understand not everyone has the luxury of having such an
'ideal' jobs/pt setup. Anyway, I was bored and still pretty excited today about the win, so I figured I'd post our strategy up here. I hope it helps anyone who needs to win. Fun fight, and a nice challenge. Look foward to finishing CoP.

Mithran Tracker + Pso.xja done.

Finished the Mithra tracker last Saturday in our static, and also the Pso'xja cutscene.

In Pso'xja, Our THF used Thief Tools for the lock - it worked at the first few doors, but after half way it'll pop a Gargoyle all the time. Definitely switch to Living Key or Skeleton Key for the later doors. Also have someone aggro what is in the next room before popping the Gargoyle.

For the Mithran Tracker, our setup is PLD, THF, MNK, SMN, BLM, RDM(me). We did the standard tactcie, PLD go in and Invincible, Astral Flow, sleepga, then wait for second Astral flow. Elemental Sleepga works, but it doesn't last too long. The trackers will wake up mid way and start running everywhere. It is important that the summoner doesn't not unsummon until Sleepga has ended, and the BLM should stick as close to the PLD as possible.

Our BLM died when the tracker woke up, but the SMN managed to get off his second Astral flow - killing the pets and leaving each Mithra at 25% health. Then it's 2 hr time - the MNK did Hundred Fist, and I did Chainspell Drain, and Z died soon afterward, but then we wiped. We reraised, wait for weakness to pass, and then have our PLD tank the two remaining tracker while the pet is slept. The fight afterward is very easy.

First off I would like to say, this mission is a joke. We went in to the Shikaree fight completely unprepared. Nin Drg Rng Brd Smn and Blm. Only a few deaths, but they died fast. Congratulations to Zafire(Nin) for getting Spiral Hell'd >> Evisceration'd Darkness'd by the Shikaree. We won np, bit crazy but at no point did it look like (death). Snoll, um.... biggest joke of all. Double Minuet, Spirit Surge Jump. RNG/SAM RNG/SAM DRG/SAM BRD BLM SMN 3 Slug Shots(not per RNG), 3 Penta Thrusts, 1 Barrage, and an EES later he was dead. The hardest part of this mission is just getting to Snoll. /end (Thank you.)

Edit: There was a Firaga2 and Flare as well, Astral Flow missed.

Just finished this one last night. Our PT set up was: PLD, DRG, WAR, THF, RDM, WHM.

First time we went through, we had tried to sleep Y, and treat it like any other BC fight. The shared hate made it pretty tough, as the Mithras would just bounce around the party unloading weapon skills on us. Y wouldn't sleep for long and the wyyvern caused enough problems with poorly timed healing breaths. We were also trying to conserve 2 hours as the guides we read showed this one being somewhat easy. (Maybe for a 5x SMN pt, but not for us.) We wiped.

We regrouped, fished up some Siredons. Second time we went through, we had our RDM sleep the Wyvvern and the bunny. Siredons went on Z and X (only 2 people had any Siredons, so there was a slight delay while we got a Siredon on the last tracker) PLD popped invincible early in the fight to hold hate, while DRG & WAR 2 houred on Z. She went down in the first 60 seconds of the fight. We did X next, expecting to wipe, re-raise and finish the fight.

Turned out we didn't need to. X died about 3.5 minutes in. Pets sleep super easy, RDM had very little trouble keeping them out of the equation. Z died about 7 minutes in. No deaths on our side, PLD hit red once in the fight.

Bring on the snoll tzar ^^.

Last nite my static and I went thru Ulmia's path to finish this thing up. Did this as 5XBLM, me as RDM and burned our way thru. No big surprises there, but what was interesting is the mithra run where I was /NIN.

The blms started off freezing X to death, 1 trying to sleep Z, while I got Y's attention and tried to kite. Well, freeze went well, and I got Y's attention without much trouble but it got a bit messy after that as the combination of pets and Z (who pretty much laughed off the sleep) beat down the blms. Fortunately, with some healing and some luck they managed to get rid of Z finally and the pets but with several dead and all hurting I ended up having to kite Y for about 6 or so minutes.

Thing is, it was bloody easy. Despite finding her pretty much immune to bind and gravity, I didn't get hit once. There is a large rock pillar in the arena that you can run around. Because Y is a caster, she often falls behind to the point that you can keep her on the opposite side of the pillar and she can't reach you. With utsusemi it's a total breeze to stay out of trouble and I could easily have held her indefinitely, probably even might have been able to do some dot damage if I had thought to do so early on (she is susceptable to poison II).

So, for anybody doing this, if you want to make things a shade easier, you can kite Y and basically keep her out of the equation totally. I would say it would be quite safe for either a rdm/nin or even a WHM/nin to hold her as MP burn wasn't high, and stoneskin is a nice fall back just in case.
