Description

Master! Master! It's almost time for the Egg Hunt Egg-stravaganza, kupo!

As we speak, the Mog House Management Union is making preparations for this year's festival. There will be eggs and fun and prizes...and eggs, kupo!

But I'm worried about one thing. It seems like every year, the bigwigs down at the MHMU become more and more carried away when it comes to the rules of the game. All the new "combinations" they've been coming up with lately with are so confusing, kupo...

But don't fret, Master! We Moogles are on your side! When it starts looking like you are stuck in a rut, we'll find a way to help you out, kupo!

Now head on out into town, find one of my friendly brothers, and ask him about how you can get started collecting. If you're lucky, you'll be on your way to a roomful of lovely decorated eggs, kupo!

Wait a minute! Did I say decorated eggs...? No. Forget all about that. You didn't hear anything from me...kupo...

- Rules for the Egg Hunt Egg-stravaganza It all starts with collecting special "initial eggs."

The easiest way to collect these eggs is by talking with one of the Moogle staff floating about each of the three nations. However, these representatives are only allowed to give you one complimentary egg per Vana'diel day (if you are in a party when you speak with the Moogle, you will have the opportunity to select the type of egg you want based on the initials of your party's other members).

Now, if you don't want to wait that whole day, you can gather even more initial eggs by trading other types of eggs you may have on hand to any of the Moogles in the three nations. How many initial eggs you receive varies depending on the quantities and varieties of eggs you trade, so if you are not happy with what you get once, keep trying! Just remember that these egg exchanges are also limited to one per day (per nation).

Once you've collected enough eggs, start exchanging with your fellow adventurers and try making a "combination." The most basic one is called a "First 3." When you have the three initial eggs necessary for this combo, trade them to one of the Moogles and collect your prize!

But don't let the fun end there! After a "First 3," try building an "Initial Straight 8" or a "7 of a Kind." The more you make, the more presents you'll take home!

Oh, and don't forget that you'll have to trade in a "First 3" before you can trade in any other combos. Think of it as a sort of preliminary test!

And for those of you who are looking for a real challenge, try discovering different, more exotic combinations. The Moogles are usually reluctant to give out any of their classified information, but maybe if you are persistent enough, one will let you in on a secret or two! Make it a point to talk to them as often as possible!

Please note that all "new adventurers" will be required to wait one Vana'diel day before being eligible to receive initial eggs.

- Combination Examples First 3: The first three letters of your character's name

- Moogle Locations Northern San d'Oria Southern San d'Oria

Bastok Mines Bastok Markets

Windurst Woods Windurst Waters

- Festival Duration The Egg Hunt Egg-stravaganza will begin at 16:00 (PST) on March 24th and last until 24:00 (PST) on April 3rd.

In order to get the egg furniture, first check your Regional information by typing /rmap. Spell out the first 5 letters of a region under control of a nation and you will receive that nation's Egg furniture. If you spell out a region controlled by beastmen, you will get turned into a beastman.

W I N D doesnt work for windday, you need to trade him A I R for the actual element of the day

I've seen people with items in there bazaars that i had never senn and guessed they were some reward for doing the the event. I later confirmed this myself by trading the first three letters of my name again. I got purple drop. My question is this has any one used these and what are there effects?

Also has any one come across any other items?

EDIT: lol I found the items in question already listed from a previous (easter)event on this site. But im still curious if there are any others items i dont know about.

The effect of the drops can be easily found on Allakhazam. Basically it adds +5 to some of the basic stats (DEX, VIT, INT, MND, CHR, AGI and STR). The only exception is the black drop that activates warp (similar to the Scroll of Instant Warp).

Something that may not be clear, but still very interesting, is the relation of the color of the drop and the weather elements (and the stats they are each affecting).

There is one drop for each type of element, with the associated color. The drop affects the stat in a similar way that the weather element associated with the stat affects it.

=================================
Drop color Element Stat.
=================================
Blue Water MND
Black Darkness (warp)
Clear Ice INT
Green Wind AGI
Purple Thunder DEX
Red Fire STR
White Light CHR
Yellow Earth VIT
=================================

Example: STR is linked with the FIRE element and therefor to the color RED.

Harvesting/Mining/Logging
# Mar 29 2005 at 1:46 PM Rating: Decent
It seems that for each new Vanadiel day, your first harvesting/mining/logging attempt will yield an egg. Just an interesting tidbit cause it's not hard at all to run quickly out into Sarutabaruta or Ronfaure to harvest/log

Combination doesn't work, i tried it yesterday.
Perfect!
# Mar 28 2005 at 10:19 PM Rating: Good
This is how everything goes. First off, you need to give the moogle the first 3 letters of your name. then, after that, you can do Initial Straight 8, which gives you the happy egg (ammo slot, 1% hp, +1 VIT). You can also do the 7 of a Kind, which gives you the lucky egg (1% MP, +1 VIT). Other combinations of the first 5 letters of a region is in fact true, but the easiest way to get all the eggs is to do GUSTA (Lamp Egg), SARUT (Flower Egg), or RONFA (Wing Egg). Other nations are acceptable, but those are the simplest to do in my opinion. If you really feel adventerous, try becoming a beastman through trying a nation under Beastman Control. ^^ it is quite funny. Also, if you truly feel like ruining the event to fill your pockets, sell the eggs instead of trading them. :P Hope this helps ^^

From what I can tell the Furniture eggs do nothing special (I have all 3).

The Wing egg gives Moghancement: Earth when it's the only furniture in my Mog House layout.

When the Wing Egg and my Wicker Box are both in the layout I get no Moghancement (Wickerbox has Wind element).

With all three Eggs and my Wicker Box I once again have Moghancement: Earth.

I'm Pretty sure all three eggs have 2 earth energy associated with them, and that they all give Moghancement: Earth. They each have only 1 storage.

Also they are all pretty ugly.... the only decent looking one is the Wing Egg.

Thats odd. My girlfriend has Moghancement: Experience because of a Noble's Bed. But after she put the 3 eggs in her house she obtained Moghancement: Gardening (she has a couple of Tarutaru desks as well, helping it override the bed).

My conclusion is that they give Moghancement: Gardening. Of course, it may be that they add up to cancel the bed, which would let the 3rd highest (gardening) take over. Anyone else have any other data?

Elemental energy and moghancements follow a bunch of rules according to how much power each of your furnishings have. It can be a little confusing sometimes.. Here's how your scenario works.. :)

Furnishings show you only what energy type they give, but have a hidden stat of HOW MUCH energy they give, which you can only discover by playing around.

Your girlfriend had the Noble's Bed in her MH, which gives 12 lightning energy and Moghancement: Experience and 2 Tarutaru Desks which give 4 Earth energy each and Moghancement: Gardening. She has a total of 12 lightning and 8 earth energy in her MH, so lightning is dominant. She gets Moghancement: Experience.

Now she puts the 3 eggs in her MH.. The eggs give 2 earth energy each and Moghancement: Earth.

She now has..
-12 lightning energy giving Moghancement: Experience
-8 earth energy giving Moghancement: Gardening
-6 earth energy giving Moghancement: Earth
Total: 12 lightning energy, 14 earth energy.

Earth energy takes over, but you have 2 different Moghancements from the earth items. You get Gardening because there's more gardening earth energy than there is earth earth energy. :)

Hope that helps, and btw, you better rate up for this! Lol xD

edit: Spelling + Oh bah. Someone replied at the same time as me. :p

From what I understand about moghancements the dominant element helps decide the moghancement.

Noble's Bed has 12 Lightning energy associated with it. (Moghancement: Experience)

Tarutaru Desks have 4 Earth energy. (Moghancement Gardening)

Now that the eggs are pushing the earth energy over the lightning, you will get either moghancement Gardening or Moghancement Earth. I'm not sure if it's decided by the strength of each element, or just the number of furnitures with that moghancement. (I.E. Does each Tarutaru desk give "4 units of Moghancement: Gardening" or just 1?).

So in short, I'm willing to bet a large sum of money that if your Girlfriend takes the rest of her furniture out, she'll have Moghancement: Earth.

so...does this mean its just furnishing eggs now and you can't get Happy or Fortune eggs anymore? That would suck since I took a break from playing last Easter...

Yes you can still get the Happy/Fortune eggs by doing 7 of a kind for a Fortune egg and 8 straight for a Happy egg.
Furnishing eggs
# Mar 28 2005 at 6:52 PM Rating: Decent
OK folks... Here is the deal with these "Furnishing" eggs.
Wing Egg, Flower Egg, and Lamp Egg add 1 space to your Mog Safe. The have Earth symbols on them. This mean it will increase your "Moghancement:Gardening". There is also talk that it decreases your chance of losing items using earth crystals. But I am not too sure about that. Good luck...

I heard that if u trade him "V" "A" "N" "A" "D" "E" "L" you get a egg that adds space to your mog safe is this true before I get all of the letters to trade him?[Blue]

Its actually "VANADIEL", but you get the Flower egg, the same egg you get from trading "GUSTA".

It's not Vanadiel. It's Valde, which is the first 5 letters of Valdeaunia. Whoever controls that determines what egg you get. Vanadiel does nothing, as the moogle will just take the eggs for Valde and leave you with an a, i, and n.

does the flower egg add to your inventory space?[Blue][/Blue]
RE: Is it true?
# Mar 31 2005 at 3:34 PM Rating: Decent
Like many other furnishings, the Wing (SD), Flower (WD), and Lamp (BK) Eggs all add one slot to your storage to replace the one slot that they take up in your safe. This is NOT an extra slot on the inventory on your character, and remember that you won't be able to get to these new spots when you're in a guest mog house in a foreign city. I sent them to my mules to keep my main mog house clear & safe slots open -- you *can* send the furniture eggs thru the delivery system.

Region Eggs
# Mar 28 2005 at 5:37 PM Rating: Decent
To get the lamp, wing and flower eggs, just exchange the first 5 letter one region under each country control.

For example:
GUSTA, RONFA and SARUT

You need to do the first 3 before any other combination.

RE: Region Eggs
# Mar 28 2005 at 5:53 PM Rating: Decent
More specifically, you can turn in the first 5 letters from ANY region.

You will get the Mog House item from the country that has control of that region at the time.

If the region is under Beastman controll, you get turned into a Beastman for a time.
