Battle Notes

To start the battle you need to go see Twinkbrix at (E-13) in Oldton Movalpolos. He will let you gamble anywhere from 1 to 10,000 gil with him. If you win then he will give you the key item: Shaft Gate Operating Dial to enter the battlefield. The more gil you bet the better you odds. He rolls two 50 sided dice. At 1 gil they must total 2. At 10k they must total anywhere from 2 to 50. With varying levels of odds inbetween. After winning he will offer to warp you to Mine Shaft #2716 for 2000 gil.

This is a solo ENM battle. You will have 15 minutes to defeat it.

You will see two NMs. The Moblin Fantocciniman and the Fantoccini. You must defeat the Fantoccini, which will be the same job as you. The Moblin Fantocciniman will roll a die and randomly buff either you or the Fantoccini. To win, you must kill the Fantoccini. The Moblin Fantocciniman does not aggro. Do not attack him or he will join the fight.

first time attempting this... took off all my clothes entering the zone (is that necessary? does he mirror your stats?) then put everything on and boosted a bunch... chi blasted and got to work. i must have been unlucky because he raging fisted and took me down to about 500hp pretty much right away ><. started to panic and burned the 4 hi potions i brought but by then it was too little too late. popped hundred fists and got him down to about 1/3, but not before my own HP ran out. better luck next time i hope.

Counterstance will win you this fight very very very easily.
The last 4 times I have done this battle I have activated Counterstance from the beginning.

Try it, I dont know if its a flaw in the game or somthing but he will hit you no harder than if you didnt have counterstance up.
I know it dosent make sense, but he hits me for 40-50 with or without counterstance.

The last time I did this, I even survived the puppets hundredFists because he ended up taking more damage than me from his own attacks.

Goodluck

Did this a few hours ago Kaze Style exact equipment for the most part, same +counter gear but I opted my SH over Af for some strange reason. I left AF in as chakra macro even if it did take an extra second to do.

Well I thought I was doomed until the beautiful moblin rolled me a "Reactivate all abilites" {chakra} ~> {Hundred Fists}X2 beat it with a mear 158Hp with no meds or food.

You can increase your odds greatly using the counter method and even more if you bring standard maat food/meds. Yet just like maat this puppet can cheat {Full Heal} = Pwned.

Yeah, as Elvaan mnk going into this with just basic gear (AF, akido ******** phalanx rings) I was only getting hit around 50 a pop with counterstance. I didn't see how much he was hitting me before, because I popped it at the beginning. However, I don't reccomend this unless you have some counter gear. I had +4 and I didn't counter enough to make it worth it.

Also, make sure when you see the Fantonicci get tp to cancel out counterstance as fast as you can, with it on you'll get hit a lot harder.

Wow, the goblin in the background HATED me. Never gave me a single bonus. I'm also an elvaan monk and, well... things didn't go so well. I tried countering and such, but I guess I'm unlucky. Oh well, back to soloing...

i did this one by accident, wanted to do the lvl 75 one but thought i can use the gobbie to warp me anyways, well that was a no. ended up doing this with only BLM AF gear hat, body, legs, and hume rse feet, and obviously i had my ele staffs. the battle was quite easy he never casted anything untill he used manafont and all he could get off was drain and frost and thats when he died.

only got 2000 exp from winning no items :/

Well, the BRD fight is ridiculously easy. I get by on one taco and 2 pear au laits per fight. Go in with full AF, Melody +1's, Jester's +1, and Gleeman's Belt. I use a Swan Bilbo, but any decent sword should be good. You can get Phalanx Rings x 2 for security too, but I don't always bring them with me. As you near the Fantoccini, eat your taco, Soul Voice, then Paeon III and IV. It helps to have an Ebony Harp +1 for this. Draw your weapon, then Requiem V and Carnage Elegy the Fantoccini. Once you're engaged, pop an au lait. Check the recast on your Soul Voice, and when it hits 1:58, recast your Paeons, Requiem, and Elegy. Fast Blade when you have TP, and keep a few Hi-Potions just in case. Even if the Fantoccini gets 300 tp, the worst it can do is a ~300 Cyclone. As a BRD, you're fairly well equipped to outlast anything the Fantoccini can dish out. Should be an easy win.

Easiest way of them all:
Go to North Gustaberg (the east half), around
the back of the hill, and keep heading east.
There are two caves there. Go into the one
*furthest* to the east. Once inside, you really can't miss him.
damn so close

First time I tried this with my DRG I went in with 2 x-pots, 2 hi-pots, sole sushi, best au lait thing and icharus wing.
My wyvern got intimidated by him a fair bit ;; he used Jump once and did Thunder Thrust for 175, I also got DEF+.
I used everything and finished him off with a Jump and had about 100HP left.

Second time he used Jump once, Vorpal Thrust (and missed) then when he was about 10-15% he got all his HP back then got 300% TP and f*cked me over.

Just down to luck I guess, like the gobbo's dice the fight probably leans more towards the gobbo than yourself.
got pwned

ok...I thought I had this all figured out. I've tried this twice as a BLM, and both times I really missed my WHM sub. My plan was to load up on silencing potions and paralyzing potions and go to town... After entering the battlefield, I found that I couldn't use any potion against him!! I guess its time to listen to that earlier thread and try the Ancient Magic method!! lol

Does anyone know... are potions to be used on the mobs not available for use in ALL ENMs?

I'm 2/2 on it using the AM method, with not a whole lot of fancy gear or supplies.

The only real expense has been the Blink Band I bought specifically for this ENM. (Well, and paying the gob with the loaded dice...)

Both times, I popped a Melon Pie +1 before entering. I used the Blink Band once I was inside, switched to my AF hat, cast Ice Spikes, and popped a Yagudo Drink.

I ran to the edge of the arena, attacked the mannequin (mostly so I didn't accidentally target the gob) and started casting Freeze. Next was Aspir, Manafont, then Flare. You should have enought time on your Manafont to cast 2 tier III spells without interruption, and the Fantoncini will be at ~25% HP if all spells hit for full damage. Drain, Aspir, and cast more tier III spells til the mob dies. (As a side note, Drain and Aspir are crazy powerful in this fight, pulling an average of 200 and 100, respectively.)

All dice rolls went against me on my first run, and, 1/2 for, 1/2 against in my second.

I wasn't even close to the record times (in the low 2 minute range) but made it out safe and sound in under 7.

In reference to your potion question: I have no idea.

Not sure, but as a bst this ENM puzzled me for a month or 2, i won but it was costing a fortune till i figured it out...now i do it with out hi-pots, only use a sushi, don't bother with icarus wing.

Bring you standard lvl 60 gear, 2-3 SS's or fungars, personally i find CC's suck for this fight. Go in food, call pet, run up, wait for 2-3 minutes, standard bcnm tactics. Go down the ramp, wait for the Fantoccini to summon, sick pet on the summon, wait 10, sic pet on the Fantoccini, let it pound him till the pet gets hate off you. Then sic SS on the Fantoccini's pet, now since you and the SS are attacking the pet it dies fast. Then take on the Fantoccini, use all the nice TP you and SS have gathered on the Fantoccini he will resummon within in a minute or 2 of losing his pet but cauz your pet is doing more dammage than you are, he will sic it on SS or your fungar and not on you. Keep telling your pet to attack the Fantoccini and ignore the Fantoccini's pet attacking your SS.
1 or 2 Weapon skills later the Fantoccini dies, your still at 90% health and life is good again.

As a bst we get a little bonus as the the moblins rolls really don't interfer that much as there is a 3/4 chance that they will not give the Fantoccini anything beneficial; 1/2 you or your pet get stuff, 1/4 the Fantoccini's pet gets something but who cares...

Using this strategy i have now won 5x's in a row with out spending uber amounts of gil. and am 10k exp richer, have the -12 emnity ring (which comes in handy) and now have a ******** of useless worm mulch...2 out 3 positives ain't that bad...

Okay, I successfully did this one last night on Pandemonium.

Went in as DRK60 with much less preparation then some of the other posters and maybe I got lucky.

Last week I gave it a shot and I had him to within one hit of death and I got Guillotine turned back on me for the loss.

This week I brought along 2 X-Potions and instead of opting for Sole Sushi for Accuracy I went with a plain old Meat Mithkabob for attack. I was finding that I was hitting him just fine the week prior so I opted for attack.

Casted Bio II on him from the edge of the battlefield and ran back a few steps and he followed. He got a quick lead on me in hits so I Stunned and then Drained him to even it up a bit. He casted Absorb-MND on me which gave me a free turn. Started getting me low so I 2-houred and got in a Guillotine right as Blood Weapon was wearing off. He hit me with Nightmare Scythe and blinded me which was a pain but I only missed him once while Blinded. Popped the X-Potions to keep my Hit Points up and because I got Aspir-ed 2 times in a row and was out of MP. Last turn the Moblin rolled a buff for me (MP Gain of 83) and I plastered the Fantoccini with another Guillotine for the win.

It was a close win but I didn't have to pay too much out on Icarus Wings (25k on our server).

Didn't get the Tactical Ring from the crate as I was hoping but I did get the standard 2000 exp. Always good to have some more buffer for my level.

For other DRK's interested in doing this ENM I highly stress getting a Bio II off on him to begin the fight. Wearing standard AF/Acc gear he was hitting me for 160 a hit before Bio II and only around 100 afterwards. The difference in damage taken could be all you need to be successful. Consider the Attack food over Accuracy also if your Scythe skill is 200+

I just attempted this ENM on thief for a feel of what it's like. I see no one else has posted their feelings on the NM as a thief, so here are my impressions.

It took 26k gil to win the dice roll against the goblin, and another 2k to be sent to the BC itself. I wasn't expecting the goblin's dice roll to be easy, but it did upset me that I didn't win after paying 10k the first time. Grr.

I entered the BC with supbar items for my level: Chicken Knife, a Light Buckler, Happy Egg, Spike Necklace, 2 Dodge Earrings, 2 Fluorite Rings, Survival Belt, Wolf's Mantle +1, and full Thief AF. I know the EQ was really bad, but I wasn't exactly aiming to win this time. I didn't bring any other items either... I knew I would die, so bringing potions and whatnot was a waste if I'm just going to try again for real in five days.

Once I entered, I used Sneak Attack. The mannequinn decided to attack me before I could get behind it though. From there on, it was just blow after blow between us. The moblin raised both of our attacks, then eventually cured the mannequinn for ~300HP and also gave him full TP. At this point, he used Cyclone on me for a good deal of damage. Panicking, I used Perfect Dodge... I had only 20 HP left. Once Perfect Dodge wore, I pretty much died with ease.

Next time I try, I'll attempt the ENM with items similar to Leuviant's attempt. I'm sure there's a decent way to kill this, it will just take some effort... and luck.

First I'd like to say my first atempt was a huge failure mainly because I didnt correctly prepare for the fight.

My second attempt was a success.
The items I brought were
16 Hi-potions
1 Icarus wing
Blink band
Sole sushi
Persikos au lait
I used 9 hi-potions,sole sushi, icarus wing and blink band. I's say those are the bare min.

At the end of the fight I had about 50% hp. Dont let you hp get to far below 50% his ws can do just as much as yours and he hits almost as hard and the rolls might give him a lucky shot at you. His jumps dont seems to be as strong but the dice rolls usually allow him to use them more then you will be able to. Also The two times I fought him he never called his wyvern. He has more hp then you will.

The first time I fought this enm almost all the rolls went to the hume puppet but my second time it was about 50/50. Any time you go up against this enm I reccomend over preparing because those rolls can make a huge difference.
My gear setup was all AF except these.
Happy egg
Grand knight's lance
Spike necklace
Assault earring
Spike earring
Scorp harness
Grace rings x2
Jaeger mantle
Life belt
I got my job item which was my main reason to try this fight and even the worm mulch as a bonus lol. Good luck to all you still trying to beat this /salute.

I finally figured it's best to slug it out with him rather than cast and run. I'm elvaan, I don't think it matters the race, but I think it helped me. My MP is low(@480 without sub iirc) but my HP is nearly double that (1000+ give or take). The best gear in my opinion RDM can wear for this battle is AF, the Parry and Shield bonus are mostly why and the Def is high too. I also used Royal Guard's Flueret for the Acc and extra Parry skill. I had Spiked Buckler, Royal Knight's Belt (NQ) Holy Phail, San Starting ring (2 Def 1 STR 1 MND) Red Cape +1

Buffed up: Refresh, Stoneskin, Blink, Protect, Shell, Aquaveil(yes Aquaveil),Shock spikes, En-Whatever, Baraero, Barsilence, Phalanx. Convert heal up, engaged from far away then pulled with Gravity. Next came the enfeebles as with any mob EM-T. Paralyze, Slow, Blind, Dia, and Poison. I couldn't seem to land silence don't know if he's resistant to it or just my MND wasn't high enough. I kept swinging, kept buffs (Refresh, Stoneskin, Phalanx, Shock spikes, En-whatever, Haste in that order)kept up enfeebles (Slow, Paralyze, Blind, Gravity, Dia, Poison in that order)
Since you're casting Paralyze, Shock spikes is for the stun effect

No matter what is said or done, this ENM relies on more luck than skill. I got lucky, I recieved Def boosts, and the few times the Puppet got TP boost it did Shining Blade ^.^ for @ 150 damage. Save your TP for 300% Spirits within, if you kept Stoneskin and Phalanx up, you'll have full HP to get maximum effect.

I tried this the other day as 63BST/31WHM.
I ate some Tuna Sushi and used a reraise earring.
I called a Courier Carrie, put up stoneskin and blink, waited till about a minute before my next Call Beast, and ran in. Soon as the fight started he called a pet... a crab i think. i sent my pet after him, and she got hate from both him and his pet. Then i ran in and started swinging on him. His pets are pretty weak, my pet was able to kill it in a few hits, but the problem was i still had hate from the man himself. I did a Rampage when he was down to 5% health and it left him with 1% - i got a bad dice roll and got killed somehow. I reraised myself when he walked away from me, but he regens health like any mob, so by the time i was ready to send in another pet, he and his new pet was at full health.

During the fight he called 3 pets, Crab, Funguar, and Sheep. I think that if i had let CC beat on Font, i could have handled his pets and CC would keep hate. I'm going to try it again one day and bring a few high potions.... a hundred more HP and i think i would have had him.

BTW: does BST even get anything for this fight? That worm mulch better not be for us.

i dont think the icarus wing is necessary i just think i would have won with a a bit of luck or 5-6 x-pots and a blink headband to be fair i dont think i could have had much worse luck and i came really close but hey next time i will know

I can think of please let me know if any BST has won.

Why did SE have to update this ENM to make it impossible to win? Me and a group of friends used to do this one all the time, most of the time winning. None of us have won it in the past 2 months since SE updated it unannounced. Even when someone's about to win, the Fattocini pulls something out of his *** like a 2000 damage spirits within with sliver of health left, or Reraising after he's been defeated. SE needs to change it back to the way it used to be, because I can't see how it's even possible to win like this.
