Just fought this today, 60nin/30dnc decided I'd give it a shot since it was night time and I wanted to finish this in a hurry. Got to the ???, stored about 150% tp then spawned him.

Was real straight forward, blind, slow, paralyze, then went to town with Box Step to drop his defense. My gear wasnt anything amazing, 4/5 af and emp hair pin, 2 dodge earrings, sniper/rajas rings, swift belt, nomads mantle and chiv chain with 2 Sai. I think he hit me all of 2-3 times, which I jus turned on drain samba, didnt even need to save tp for cures so popped off a few Jins.

The thing I found funniest of the whole fight, was when he popped off hundred fists, I did desperate flourish and stuck him with gravity, plus had AF feet on for 24% movement speed, I jus kited him around both times and tossed my chakram at him. All in all, a fun fight, very easy.

To get to the ??? you'll want to take the southeast entrance from Jugner (as opposed to the northwest) to Carpenter's Landing. There are two ways in, and I didn't see anything posted here that explicitly said which way to go. Hope this helps someone. Also, once in Carpenter's Landing, the ??? is on the western side of I-10 on a large mushroom near some Shriekers, as some other posters have indicated.

If your gonna give instructions the least you could do is get your title right, CN is Crawler's Nest, which has noting to do with this quest.

"Knocking on Forbidden Doors" is the final quest in the mannequin mini-story. Just did this tonight, going to wrap it up tomorrow, since you have to wait til JP midnight to start the final quest after finishing "Behind the Smile."

I want to pose my mannequin :X

Manequin Pumps

Did this fight today as a 62sam/31rng. I brought along a LS member just to show off he was a 55sam/27thf. From the postings i was fairly confident that i could solo this guy. The fight didnt last very long i had built TP about 200% and sidewindered him. Then i Barraged him and only did 425 damage couse I ran out of arrows. This gave me 108% TP including what i had already bulit from hitting him sidewindered again. He hundred fisted here was hitting me from 2-4 Hp per hit. I meditated and sidewindered again fight was over. The other SAM did about 600 damage with SA tachi Jinpu. Yes i thought it wasnt posible either but i saw it and im a beliver. All in all i lost maybe 100 HP and other SAM about the same. Imole Carbuncle Server

He was pathetically easy as SAM75/WHM37 (for tele-holla to get there, I'm not paying hard earned gil to go as /WAR >:I). He landed four hits the duration of the fight. Only anticipated two, rest of the time I wasn't bothering with TE because I used meikyo shisui. Horrible overkill, but fun. Never broke stoneskin.

By the way, parsed 4662 damage, so around 4.5k-4.6k. Luckily he's weak as hell. I'd say soloable by 45-50.

Self Killing NM's

So, I heard from my LS that this mob was soloable, so I did my standard prep work for soloing. Needless to say when I actually read up on the fight I realized that 75RDM/37NIN was a bit of overkill. So for fun I just put up Stoneskin and Blaze Spikes, did the occasional move to get hate, and watched my level 60NPC kill him.

Honestly, the majority of the damage came from him using Hundred Fists while I had both Stoneskin and Blaze Spikes up. He'd just tear himself a new one anytime he used it.

This was fun. Just solo'ed it as WHM66/BLM17 (just for warping sake). I hit him a lot, but it didn't seem like I was doing a whole lot of damage. Honestly, the majority of the damage came from him using Hundred Fists while I had both Stoneskin and Blaze Spikes up. He'd just tear himself a new one anytime he used it.

During his second round of Hundred Fists, I thought I had a fresh Stoneskin up, but he took it down fairly early and brought me down by like 500 HP during the whole run. It was slightly alarming, but the fact that he was at 5% at the end of it made me worry a lot less about my HP. Plus, I had 180% TP ready at the end of, so it was all good.

I popped a Yagudo Drink at the beginning of the fight for safety's sake, but in the end, I hadn't even used half my MP, so it was hardly a problem.

When he pauses he doesn't move at all, and you can run around behind him and SA weaponskills. Just did it as 70 SAM, took me maybe 45 seconds to finish.

I talk to Enaremand and he just stutters but no cutscene. I go to Fyi in Mhara and he just continues to talk about the Mannequin quest.

How do I check my fame in Tavnavian Safehold? Perhaps my fame level is not high enough to start this quest.

Does this mean I have to assemble a Mannequin and complete the "It's Raining Maggequins!" quest just to flag this one? I would like to get some Mannequin Pumps, but assembling a mannequin would cost over 1 million gil with the prices on my server. That's quite a bit for something that would just sit in my Mog House looking cool.

storage+7 and after you do the quest, you can buy more mannaquins for only 250k. Storage+7 is well worth it. Seeing that bookshelves *storage=4* (on Fairy server) are about 150k, mannaquins are well worth the 250k :)

1mil?? are you serious? i think i spent less than 50K. wanna know how? collect the pieces yourself!!

two of them are from lvl20 garrison, i bought both of those for less than 50K total. although i did get lucky cuz an LS friend sold them to me cheap. then the other 3 are each garenteed drops from a specific bcnm20. one can be solo'd by a smn. the other two can be beaten with pld + mnkx2. they're VERY easy to do, if you know how.

lets see... using 60 seals for maybe 1 mil worth of gear? doesn't really sound like a good way to save money to me. use those 60 seals for say, a 60 BCNM and get a 3-4 mil item

The ??? is at the far western part of I-10, the little bit that juts out further than everything else. It is on a mushroom.

Bullheaded Grosvez uses a hard-hitting ability called "slam dunk" and can use Hundred Fists multiple times.

He has very poor accuracy, however. And he occasionally stops and you se an emote "Bullheaded Grosvez pauses to catch his breath."

Soloed him as 70RDM/35BLM without health ever dipping into the yellow, even with two rounds of Hundred Fists.

Slam Dunk is a regular Orc ability. They all get Slam Dunk. Inflicts either Bind or Stun...I don't remember which, but I'm pretty sure it's Bind.

Where in (I-10) of Carpenter's Landing is the ???

I found 2 ??? spots already: one on a log near the water, and 1 on a fungus. Neither popped the NM. The last thing I did was talk to the Mhuara NPC, so I'm up-to-date on the quest and all.

Did it with WHM68 and RDM68.

Took a few minutes, but it was pretty easy. We both were nuking, and I was tanking (WHM). When it triggered Hundred Fists, hit me a LOT, but Stoneskin negated every single hit.

In other words, not a single HP lost.It should be really around lv30-40

did this the other day as 70 BLM with a 70 SAM and we were total overkill. his hundred fists was hitting the sam for about 3 dmg / punch.

i'd have to guess his level as 40ish.
