Battle Notes

Talk to Twinkbrix at (E-13) in Oldton Movalpolos to start this ENM. Choose to gamble with him for 10,000 gil until you win the key item: Shaft Gate Operating Dial. After you get the key item, pay 2,000 gil to Twinkbrix to teleport you to Mine Shaft #2716. You will battle 4 Automatons. Each Automaton has a different resistance to attacks, spells, and abilities. It will be the same each time, but the weakness is dependant on your race. For example the Galka in the Tarutaru ENM is weak to magic, but in the Galka ENM the Hume is weak to magic. All battle participants must be of the same race.

When you enter the ENM, you will have to fight 4 out of the 5 Automatons. One will not be present which will be the race that you are. These Automatons do not link, but one random Automaton will begin aiding the one currently being fought when its HP is very low.

As an Elvaan BLM the Desalimon earring will save me a few million by not getting a Phantom Earring +1, so I figured I'd try this with a couple of LS mates. We went in as:

BLM/WHM (me)
BST/WHM
DRK/WAR

None of us have done this so we didn't know the time limit or what to expect really. Time limit is 18 minutes btw. We go in, buff, BST calls CC and uses Familiar. Pull taru first, own him. We then moved on to Mithra, she was a tough cookie, but DoT really helped to kill her, Bio2, Poison2 and choke. Now, we wanted to save the Galka for last so I could 2hr and kill him, but he jumped up 3rd and messed us all up. Poison Potions wore on the melees and right as I cast Aero3, they all slept, I couldnt get a cure off to wake up anyone so I died. Bst raised me, I Freeze for 1688 dmg, I die again. Then he killed the DRK and BST. We would have one if we killed the Galka, he was at 1/16th HP after the freeze, that {******* sword}. Hume woulda been {Too weak.}

After u kill first one, you don't get to pick the order u kill anymore, another one just steps in randomly. We wanted to go Taru>Mithra>Hume>Galka.

Long story short, a "tank" (ninja or pally) isn't really needed in this fight (unless u count CC as a tank).I mean, our DRK was voking and not getting owned lol. Just strategy is needed. We are going back in 5 days to give it another go with a few tweaks to our strategy, they need the +dex and +agl earring, I need the mage one.

Well, I hope this was semi helpful to anyone looking to get these earrings, GL to all.

OOOkkkeeee Dookkkkkkeeeee!!!!!

I have been doing the Automaton assualt every five days for the past four months now with two galka frined of mine, Klokwurk (68 blm) and Dracus (69 monk). I, Homie, am a 65 paladin. Klok was after the +10 mp +2 Int rse earring, which he now ahs, and I was after the +30 MP earring, Zedoma's earring, which i now have, and to my knowledge I am the only galka on Fairy with it. As most of yuo well know, Galka are the minority in Vana'diel, so this ENM is quite tricky to even find a pt for. We made do with what we had, and through our trials ahve leared a TON about this battle.

Our PT setup is Paladin/warrior Black Mage/Paladin and Monk/Ninja. By all means a weird setup, but damn effective. Klok was subbing summoner for a while, but it is ineffective for our purposes, you'll see why.

OK once you enter the BC area Pld immeadiatly casts protect3 onto the monk, who should be casting Utsusemi: Ichi. Monk goes down the path and pulls the Mithra first, get her outta the way, as we have no ranged attacks. The mithra will be hte hardest to take down, so might as well do it at full hp/mp. While the monk is pulling paladin pops a yag drink and heals. get ur MP back. Galka paladins will ahve about 160ish mp w/ food, so you'll need every last bit you can get. Once mithra is in sight paladin Provokes and flashes the monk will 2-hour, and fist that lil kitty like there's no tomorrow. Paladin uses 2 hour right after the monk does to ensure hate, and to conserve on hp. Every time we have failed was because i ran out of MP, and my hp slowly went buh-bye. mithra WILL live through the 2 hours, so jsut keep layin the smackdown. once she goes down the hume will come runnin. The paladin should us his MP on cures asap as to let the yag take effect. But once Invincible wears let you hp get town to about half. at this point the Blackmage will Manafont, and because he is /paladin he can cure. This is key. w/out these additional cures, expect a disaster, or one hellofa fight and a close call.

HUME!!!! He was our biggest problem when we first started, as he seems to be strong to everything. We tried SC's, but they had little effect. Klok, the damn genious that he is found that the Hume Automaton is extremely weak to Aero spells. This again is where the BLM/PLd comes into play. Klok just nukes his heart out w/ all his aeroIII and such, which pulls a LOT of hate. I use cover, as voke will do nothing. BUt as soon as this runs out Klok has hate, so the /pld helps w/ the amt of damage he will take. The aero spells should take the hume down in about a minute or 2.

Now, here comes the elF. The Paladin should be saving up his TP throughout the fight for the Elvaan. Monks gain tp much faster, especially w/ 100 fists, so the monk can afford to get a few WS off, but should try to save up 300TP for elvaan. Here is a good chance for the monk to tank with teh shadows for a good 30-45 seconds, and paladin heals WITHOUT PUTTING DARK STAFF ON. Doing so will wipe ur TP, you jsut want to get an extra bit of MP.like 1 or 2 ticks. Get Up, pally vokes/flash for hate, and bust out ur vorpal Blade. The monk should follow with a Nice Howling Fists, and jsut keep hacking away and tossing WS if possible. The elvaan never gave us any problems, but we have died on him many times from me runnin out of mp for cures when Klok subbed summmoner. At this stage a few high-potions maty be in order. I never bring less than 3.

Once the elvaan is dead here comes the midget! Now, although the taru is weak to melee and goes down the fastest, he LOOVES to start off his fight w/ AM as soon as he is in range to cast. Klok always stuns him when he does so, but it seems to have no effect 3/4 of the time, and whoever gets hit by AM can kiss their *** goodbye. I save shield bash for here as well. but same 3/4. Even if someone dies here it's no biggie, jsut that person won't get the XP. Once your at the taru, you know u have it in the bag, as every1 melee's him, including blm. He'll drop like a fly after like 30 seconds of gettin pounded on!

BINGOO!!!! you win. Now just remember that everyone has to be in close proximity to the chest in order for them to recieve the 2k xp.

a few sidenotes: every1 will need 2 poison potions minimum, as all 4 do Sleep aoe WS. Paladin should bring minimum of 1 ether, 1 yag drink, 3 high-pots, and 1 pamana au'luit. The key to winning is keeping the paladin alive through the whole fight. In fact, that is the fight =P.

If you have any questions feel free to give me a /tell. Char: Homie Server: Fairy

This can actually drop both in one run. My set group (we're tarus) does this every week, and we've done it around 15-20 times and have only 1 Morukaka and 2 Waetoto Earrings to show for it. The first time they dropped, both a Morukaka and a Waetoto dropped at the same time.

We go as NIN/WAR, THF/DRK (me), BLM/WHM. I used to go as RNG/NIN but that was crap against the hume, and I can still land bolts on the Mithra if I use sushi and macro in gear. THF/DRK because for some reason SA and TA seperated do 400-500 each on the Hume, then SA+Souleater+Dancing Edge totally destroys the Elvaan. NIN also throws shurikens on the Mithra while I spam bolts, and then the NIN and BLM kill off the galka.
Lost ; ;

Just tried this with LS buddies and failed :'(
We're sexy mithra and party setup as follows:
RDM/BLM (me)
MNK/WAR
MNK/WAR

First time we tried this buffed up and walked in expecting one to come out but didn't so someone Chi Blasted the taru. Both MNKs started beating 7 kinds of s**t out of the taru before it started casting AM then it ran away but dropped quickly.
Galka come out and MNKs were doing 5 a fist on it. I cast Thunder II for 508 then it starts beating on me, eats through Stoneskin + Phalanx in a matter of seconds and MNKs finding it hard to get it off me. I Chainspell nuke then one hit finishes me off (Bind does not work on these ENMs) Then Hume joins in to finish the last MNK off.

Okay editting my original message as I'm a nubbie and dunno how to reply to it o_o;;

2nd attempt at this with the same setup we lost but think we learnt a bit from it. This is what happened.

We walk in and I buff everyone up including myself with Stoneskin, Phalanx and Blink. Meriandle who got in first was charging up with Boosts whenever she could and when she hit the 12th boost did a Chi Blast on the Galka for 1000 damamge. Still healing I quickly got up Chainspell + Thunder II the ******* until I was out of MP (I believe every Thunder II hits for 510) then Converted and Drained the life out of the fat fsck. Thanks to Blink, Stoneskin and Phalanx he didn't start doing damage on me till I had a fair portion of HP back from drain, which hit between 36-360 Dark Staff assisted.

Next up the baselard hume. Both MNKs went to work on her and I drew my sword and joined in. We all seemed to be hitting for around 15-20 and Thunder II did 60 every time I tried it. We got Fusion off but don't think it did much. Reading what someone said I'm gonna try Aero II if there is a next time. The hume liked to do Sleepga which we were unprepared for. Took us a while but eventually killed the hume but it took it's tole on us, we all had low HP and I had almost no MP left. For some odd reason it wouldn't let me drink a 2nd hi-ether, anyone comment on this?

Elvaan came out and finished us not much we could do about it.

Seems like the order is Galka->Hume->Elvaan->Taru->back to start.

If I can persuade them to go again in 5 days we'll try for long pulls with Gravity and Aero II on the Hume, hopefully rest be easy.

3rd attemp (another edit) failed again but only 'cause we forgot about the AoE sleep. Here's what happened:

Went in buffed up, rested then MNKs started Boosting. I ran all the way in and pulled the galka with Gravity. By the time he got to us both MNKs had boosted 12 times and their combined Chi Blasts took half his HP. I Chainspell + Thunder II to finish him off quickly.

Hume comes running up MNKs 2hr, I slap the ***** with Para, Slow, Bio II and Poison II. We tried Aero II on a MB and only did 28, Detonation only did 8. However the actual WSs did over 100 so we're thinking that she's weak (or just not resistant) to WSs if you're a Mithra. Then the AoE sleep came ; ; I'm not sure but I believe the attack those does sleep also does damage first which means if she does it again you'll take dam and be hit with ANOTHER long lasting sleep. I noticed from my para she was paralysed a good few times so very helpful. MNK that was awake (Meri~) finished her off.

Elvaan came along and picked us off one by one 'cause we were still sleeping :(

Next time we're going in with poison potions and we should be set to win, I still had one Hi-ether left and Convert.

Just did this today and owned. I think the description is wrong in that I don't think the races have set weaknesses I think it changes for every race. Did this as a Galka with the setup
MNK/WAR
BLM/SMN
WHM/SMN

The main issue is that the mages remember poision potions becouse they have a sc that causes sleep. We did it in the order:
Hume > Elvaan > Taru > Mithra

The hume was very weak to magic attack the BLM killed him with a Flare and drain.
The Elvaan didn't seem to be too weak or too strong to anything.
The taru was very weak to my h2h damage and I'm guessing physical damage in general.
The Mithra was the toughy for us becouse she seemed fairly resistant to my h2h and magic so we used 2hrs and she wasn't too much of a threat. She may have been weak to weaponskills but it was hard to tell, my Howling fist did about 330 on her.

Hopes this help people.
Something about the Hume

Galka

WHM/BLM
RDM/BLM
WAR/NIN
MNK/SAM
SAM/RNG

All but the Hume were a joke.

Tried an SC on the Hume about 4 or 5 times while fighting him, yeah, doesnt work. Ran out of time and lost because we couldnt kill him fast enough.

Edit: It seems the Hume is weak to H2H, after reading some more posts. Can anyone back me up on this, cause I'm still not quite sure.

i do this every week with nin rng brd. soo freaking easy i really dont see how you ppl lose. i keep requiem and elegy on the mobs at all times and im outta there in 7 mins~. i dont even have to cure more than twice, if that, for the whole battle.

my advice is grab 2 poison potions each and take a nin tank.

Thats because not everybody goes as nin/rng/brd or can go as those jobs. I hate it when people say "zomg this are teh easyz, i dont see how jooz can lose." People do lose this bc on first frew tries, but that doesn't mean they suck.

I do this every week with a couple friends of mine. We've won each of the five times we've gone and set the record once, but we haven't gotten an earring to drop yet ; ;

Anyway, our set-up is NIN/WAR, RNG/NIN and SMN/WHM (me), Elvaan. We set up camp just outside the tunnel so we have some room to work with in case the next mob runs in before the one we are fighting dies. SMN (that's me) stays back in case of that nasty AOE sleep, though the mobs don't use it often, if at all.

First mob is Hume, RNG pulls then melees and shoots while NIN blink-tanks and melees. I stay back and cure when needed, which is not often. The mobs attack slow, so the NIN never has trouble.

Next is the Taru. EVERYONE keeps blinks up in case of AM. I somehow got targeted once despite the fact that I wasn't doing anything but resting, but managed to get out of the way in time. Anyway, the Taru has terrible attack and defense, so the RNG and NIN just clobber it to death. I again just cure when needed. Oh, and did I mention keeping blinks up? lol!

Mithra is tricky because the RNG will often pull hate. This is probably the best time to use WSs, but again it's pretty easy.

When the Galka steps in, I finally get to do something! Since it is weak to magic, any Avatar with a LV 4 nuke will do (I use Shiva personally). SMN works much better than BLM or RDM since you don't have to worry about pulling hate. A single nuke will knock half the mob's HP out, and the Avatar can easily tank until the Blood Pact timer is ready again. Meanwhile, the NIN throws out Ninjutsu for a little extra damage. The 2nd Avatar nuke should finish it, and that's all.

With this set-up, the battle is laughably easy (for elvaan anyway), and almost no damage is taken. I cannot stress enough how huge an advantage a SMN has over any other caster since you won't have to worry about hate-control on the Galka. That's my two gil, hope it helps ^^. Now where is my drop????

Hume 60

**Taru**
PLD uses blink band to cancel absorb the the ancient magic. Everyone attacks the taru and kill him.

**Mithra**
Everyone attack mithra. The mithra has an AOE sleep so if you are not using a paladin and your mage is hit it could become a problem.

**Galka**
Ranger Shadowbind the Galka while the rdm goes into nuking stage. Chainspell and cast away with the correct staff. Throw a gravity on the Galka and run away for Convert and cure and return to finish him off.

**Elvaan**
No strat here. We just beat the crap out of him. He had a TP attack that took down our rng, but the PLD and I were able to take him down. HP may be runing low at this stage so have the PLD use 2hr just in case.

May be help full for RDM and PLD to bring drinks and ethers. Drinks will save the 80MP for Refresh x2 that could be spent on a cure or nuke. And ethers are good just in case. We are 2/3, opps converted when galka was free, and got blinky's earring. I have a static that I go with every Saturday morning. XD

Edit: Just got my quantz's earring.. we are 2/3 on earring drops XD

Does anyone know if you can sleep the Automatons? I tried this ENM and wiped but if they can be slept and I moved a little quicker I think we may have pulled it off.

Thanx

Ohh and I cannot 100% confirm this but the Hume seemed to be very weak to dark magics. I used drain and bioII on him and both hit harder than I have ever seen. When I go next week I plan to chainspell drain the hume to death. Crossing fingers.

Tried this tonight with 3 galka's.

Bst/whm (me)
Monk/war
Rdm/blm

We pulled the taru first and made mince meat of him, next up came the mithra. With no ranged weapons she took a bit to bring down but it wasnt bad. Then came the hume...

The humes weakness is supposed to be skill chains. We pulled off two successful chains against him, both detonation. They did a whopping 12 dmg.

Our combination of support and assault was flawless, we just couldnt bring the mithra and hume down fast enough before the time limit ran out.

Anyone done it with galka? any tips or advice?
RE: Galka

Ok, we did this with Galka also, Pld/war, thf/nin, mnk/war, rdm/blm. We figured 4 galkas would win for sure. This was not the case. The thing is - THE WEAKNESSES VARY DEPENDING ON WHAT RACE YOU ARE! We pulled the hume, thinking it was h2h weak like cannotlinkto says and the mnk used 100 fists...for like 3 damage per hit. Took us too long to realize that means it's magic weak - the rdm/blm chainspelled and nuked it to death quickly, but we were already low on MP. The Elvaan was next, couldn't figure out his weakness so we just killed normally. Then the taru came, opened with flood on the pld, resisted silence and one-shotted the pld (he should've run). However, we cut him down super fast with Howling Fist/SA Dancing edge (for 1007) so i think the taru in the galka ENM is weak to weaponskills. The RDM R1ed the pld (no xp loss in ENMs) and the mithra came. No discernable weakness, although it might be ranged attack - the two bolts i fired missed so i can't be sure. He basically picked us off one by one - when he dropped the Monk, i ran away to kite him with 120 HP left, but he caught me in the big room and cut me down. The RDM slept him, but there was nothing he could do alone and died. Next time we'll bring a ninja tank, pay attention to the weaknesses, and win. :) Good luck galkas!
This is annoying...

I've tried 2 times... both losses.... same both times.
(Tried with Taru Mnk, Blm, and Nin)

Hume: I was hitting for 100+ a fist with def food on (I had to tank the first time because we had a bst instead of a nin), and 120+ with meat, pathetically easy puppet.

Elvaan: Was hitting like a truck, 150+ dmg a hit and spammed shockwave.

Mithra: SO....DAMN.....DODGY. I missed too much without Focus.

Galka: We wiped to the galka, blm got killed... was doing 2-8 dmg a fist.

Very easy ENM.

Setup: Go Humes!!
(me) Josayeee Nin/war
Gubar Sam/rng
Silanah Rdm/blm

Ninja is awsome for this because they have good physical dmg, rng damage, and magic damage.

We've done this like 3 times now and haven't gotten a drop. I think it's safe to say it's a bad drop rate. Also, the 2nd time we went Gubar ended up paying 51k to the Goblin >.>

Ok, did this ENM today pt setup was me:rdm/blm, nin/war and thf/nin. We zone in, eat food, I buff everyone and rest. We run for ever and get to the battlefield. First we take the taru. He's a pushover. Then the galka comes up. The nin and I spam nukes on him. I had stoneskin and phalanx up but I nuked a little too hard and grabbed agro from nin. His weapon skills chewed through stoneskin and I get pretty low on mp so I break off and rest a bit. The nin and thf work on galka, I get up and drop a blizzardII on him, he dies. Next comes the hume. This b***h is not weak to ANYTHING! it took forever for us to make a dent. The nin is holding up pretty well. So I say "well this seems to be going ok, just really slow." as soon as I push "enter" the hume dose a sleepga WS... (shockwave) I sleep for about a good min. I wake up long enough to cure the tank and, here it comes again. Asleep for another min. We get the hume low enough to get the elvaan to join the party. Hume dose ANOTHER AoE sleep! We kill the hume. Then the elvvan hits us with shockwave again! I'm @ about 80hp by now and asleep. So the nin runns off with the elvaan... but towards the zone. Didn't know that you could run away from thees >.< So we failed, but at least nobody died. We had the elvaan to about 1/2 HP before nin zoned out. So there you go the AoE is sleep. Be ready for it, and don't zone out of the battlefield XD

Never run away from an ENM! You don't lose Exp if you die, and whether you win or lose, you can't go in for another 5 days.
As for the sleep, luckily I haven't seen it done yet, but I guess it would be a good idea to use Poison potions to counteract it; Just in case.

Hehehe. Did this ENM again with rdm/blm(me) thf/nin nin/war and whm/blm. did the basic melee taru nuke galka blah, blah, blah... Had the whm stay out of AOE sleep range and saw the WS about 3 times. whm woke us up and kept us alive. we pwned. got the hp+10 mnd+2 earring and another one. exp kinda sucks with 4. only 1500 each. it was fun though.

I was able to do this ENM today with four people, and the record is also held by a party of four.

BLM BLM RDM PLD, two black mages spammed stun between each other, and it went about as smooth as it could. With Refresh, etc. nobody had to two hour, or use food, and it was actually kind of funny when they finished the fight with a Flare for 2042 and a Freeze for 1460 to win off the Galka.

We each got 1500 exp and an earring dropped.

That's not true. You can enter with as many as six, but the amount of experience you all get is reduced, and if the earring drops, that's more people lotting on it.

It IS possible to enter with more than three though.

Alright, so I tried this again but with only one other person this time. Me RDM/BLM and Eldonia NIN/WAR. The fight was even easier than before, as we actually knew what we were doing this time. We nuked the galka, melee'd the taru and elvaan, and then both ranged the mithra. I was doing over 130 damage with my arrows that was at level 175 archery. We won the battle in 10 minutes and got a Quantz's Earring ^^

I attempted this ENM with 2 other fellow LS members this past Sunday. Setup was RDM/BLM, THF/RNG and PLD/NIN (me).

We took on the Hume first cause supposedly it uses -aga type spells. When we fought it, it was using a GreatSword and was a pretty easy kill.

Then came the little Tarutaru evil AM (Ancient Magic) spamming devil. If I hadn't subbed ninja it would have been over for us on the 3rd or 4th AM spell. We eventually killed it but not before it killed the THF 2x and myself once. Our RDM 2hr and raised both of us when kiting the tarutaru. We finally killed it only to die at the hands of the Mithra due to weakness and 100hp -.-

I'd have to recommend that the tank and dd both sub nin just to survive the Tarutaru, I doubt stun would help in this case because it casts AM every 20 seconds.

We'll be doing this one again, and if/when we win, I'll post the winning strat. /sigh stupid 5 day wait period >_>

Sirro, you said this was the Elvaan Strat. By that do you mean your team was all elvaan. Can you only enter the ENM with people of your race?

I went with 2 other ppl that I saw shouting for it in Jeuno. It was going great with a rdm/blm thf/nin and myslef as a pld/war until the Taru came out... nailed me with AM and it went downhill from there. Not like I really care, but at the time that 10k was all I had. (; ;)
Hmmm.

For some reason the Elvaan and Hume weaknesses seem like they should be switched around a bit....
