In-Game Text

Description

Ouryu and the four Ziryu must be defeated to win this BCNM. You have 60 minutes to complete this battle and can take in 18 people.

To start this BCNM you will need a Cloud Evoker, which is obtained from various ENM battles. Trade the Cloud Evoker to the green Spatial Displacement at (I-9) in Riverne Site #A01. Defeat in this BCNM will move the alliance back out to the level 40 restricted zone. This Ouryu is a more powerful version than the Promathia Mission one.

o.o Ok... this one is a bit different XD but if you have a fair amount of earth resistant gear its possible to resist breakaga, easier on the WHMs. Me RDM 75 and a lev 75 RDM/37BST (his BST is 75) duoed nuked the ele's, worked pretty well. Can quickly turn into a living hell if both ele's arrgo before you kill the first ele. Also always have a BLM to help nuke the ele down if 2 ele's do arrgo. If the worm resist your charm and only have one charmer, ask someone to silence it. Break out SCs for wind Magic Burst and bring RR items gonna need it. My LS has never did Tiamat or Jormun (well actually iirc we praticed on it for this fight but only 7 ppl). BLMs reccomended. 60 mins time limit.
Earth Resistance:
163 with most of the easy items.

Main: Austers Staff (20)
Main: Club of Trials (10)
Sub: Numinous Shield +1 (15)
Ranged: Lamian Kaman +1 (2mdb)
Head: Black Ribbon (12)
Neck: Jeweled Collar (10)
Ear1: Topaz Earring (10)
Ear2: Topaz Earring (10)
Body: Assault Breastplate (+15) Gaia Doublet +1 (12)
Hands: Sand Gloves (11)
Ring1: Maldust Ring (10)
Ring2: Topaz Ring (9)
Back: Gaia Mantle +1 (12)
Belt: Wind Belt (20)
Legs: Beak trousers +1 (7)
Feet: Crimson Greaves (+20)

Ninja Build: 138 (from a Taru Nin/drk's set-up)

Auster's staff +20
Tsoo Haja's Headgear +10
Clay amulet +11
Topaz earring x2 +20
Beak Jerkin+1 +7
Sand Gloves +11
Maldust ring +10
Topaz ring +9
BeakMantle+1 +7
Wind Belt +20
Beak Trousers+1 +7
windustian Kyahan +6

Tanks should be able to swap these on when ouryu flies and when it does cast spells (stonega/breakga/orch blast ect..) , then swap back physical defense on when it goes down and attacks normally. expect to be hit like 400dmg a hit.
Basically on air/spells being cast - swap in earth/magic resist gear. when it drops on the ground physical defense gear. that's how I see it.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the elementals in this fight. Those can be just as annoying as the worms and Ouryu.

The worms are indeed charmable. I went in as whm/bst (both jobs at 75), and I probably failed charm only once out of 5 tries. I don't know how successful you'd be with a lower bst sub. Our alliance had 2 people sub bst, so we were able to charm the worms that were closest to Ouryou, that way nobody got hit by surprise attacks.

Before you gather your alliance of RNGs and BLMs be aware that this thing is very very strong to ranged and magic attacks.

On the CoP wyrms RNG and BLM is more nerfed than a THF in KRT and as a lvl 72 THF I laugh at their pain ^^

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

first off shouldn't the worms be put into the Related Mobs part?

Second are they NM, are they Charmable, and about what level are they?

this is one tough BC, tactics are similar to the 4-2 fight just on larger scale. Have not beat it yet, timer has expired all 3 times we tried. Mystmelt help alot for this one.... GOOD LUCK!

I have to stay, this does sound like an interesting thing for a non HNM LS to try out. You don't have to fight the 'big' HNM for a chance to fight a dragon..

^_^ Maybe its just me. Me and 17 sucidial friends need to try this out, someday.
Very hard

Even though the zone to enter this is lv40 capped, the area you fight Ouryu in is uncapped. It's a hanging island in a rough square shape. There will be 4 worms and 2 elems there, as well as the dragon, and they will respawn if you kill them. One worm spawns in each "corner". Without the proper attention they can be really annoying with their magic... and then there's the dragon. He's really similar to the CoP wyrms, with a nasty stone-based breath attack called Geodic Breath, and a Bai Wing TP move that adds Slow. He can fly, cast Stonega III, and uses (this is the best part) an AOE TERROR MOVE. WTF. I honestly forget whether he can cast Breakga or not, but in any case he's quite the pain.

Still, I think an LS comfortable with Tiamat/Jormun would be able to beat this battle in a few tries.
