Summary

Find Stray Cloud's friend Gubokka in the Sea Serpent Grotto.

Walkthrough

Talk to Stray Cloud and he'll tell you about his friend who went to explore Sea Serpent Grotto and never came back, he'll offer a hefty reward if you go and find him. When you attempt to leave Norg, his friend Gubokka will come in and tell you about a Hume who saved him and how he feels bad about being selfish, leaving the Hume to die.

The quest objective now becomes finding the Hume who saved Gubokka. Go to (K-6) on the first map Of Sea Serpent Grotto to find a ???. Clicking it will spawn a NM Sea Monk called Glyryvilu, which is one of the new NMs. Defeat it, and touch the ??? again for a cutscene. You will receive a Key Item, which is the sword that the Hume gave you. Return to Norg and talk to Stray Cloud to receive yet another sad cutscene and receive the Light Buckler as your reward.

Did this this weekend with my lvl 53 bst @.@ Ran to the area where you can see the mindgazer, looked for and found the one greatclaw that spawns there. Tried to charm it and after about 4 charms and under 200 hp left landed a charm. 2hred and was on my way. Picked up a lvl 63 thf friend of mine who came to watch me charm the greatclaw lol. Checked the point and let the greatclaw go to town on it, fight was pretty easy but with the greatclaw tanking we where only taking dmg from aoe so it wasn't so bad. /cheer bst ^_^

A 67 RDM I had solo'ed him down to 1/2 health and survived a cross counter attack. I took over 400 damage from that as well as a new set of blink and stoneskin being stripped from me. Knowing people had issues with him, I kept up phalanx. I was not so fortunate during the second cross counter. At a most inopprotune time, I was found without stoneskin or blink (was reapplying SS actually) and took 750 damage. ; ; Killed off instantly.

I accentdently talked to the NPC and was wondering and finally someone post. Looks like either I need to get a pt of 6 or wait to 75 and get at least one friend. I'm just a 63PLD atm. However, I do like the cut sence

Not too difficult of a quest, but the mob hits decently well and is unsleepable, so BLM soloing is out of the question. v_v Duoed it with a high level PLD very easily. 75RDM/NIN would have no trouble soloing. Reward isn't all that special, but it's a nice story for a quickie quest like this.
