Mission Orders

Cardinal Mildaurion is somewhere in Jeuno, and Ulmia is desperate to find out where she may be hiding. Perhaps the three "high-ranking" Tarutaru "officials" know something...

Walkthrough

Head into the palace in Ru'Lude Gardens for the first cutscene.

Next, head to Misareaux Coast. Touch the Dilapidated Gate at (I-11) to spawn three NM detector mobs named Warder Aglaia, Warder Euphrosyne, and Warder Thalia. Sleep all of them and kill them one by one. They have a area knockback WS and a physical attack. They go down pretty quickly. After you kill them, check the gate again and watch your cutscene.

war/sam solo with npc

Finished up 3 paths and got to this nm. Figured it would be a fun solo. I could have went as any of my other 3 75 jobs, which are all much better at soloing. (Nin, Thf, Drg) But I consider myself a warrior at heart, and I have fun with it.

I went at first as war/dnc and was quickly ripped apart. (I'm terrible at this game when i'm freshly baked. Wasted my 2 hour too >< )

So i hiked to tavnazia, changed to war/sam hoping i could just plain up zerg them before they killed me.


Got back up to the gate, pulled out my lvl70 healer npc for a couple emergency cureV's as i needed it. meat mithkabob, stored 300 tp, retaliation. berzerk/aggressor, and popped the nm's.

Was using seigan/third eye, but coulda used hasso. Warcry , warrior's charge and king's justice to the first one which did about half its life.

Meditated and between retaliation and counter i had tp within seconds.
God war/sam can be a beast in the right situations.

Just dropped Ws when i had tp, and hit third eye when it was up, which doesnt go far with 3 mobs attacking you. Was taking some dmg, so I think my npc threw 2 cure v's at me.

Super fun and quick fight with war/sam. Was over within a minute.

i just did the smn solo for this, pull out ramuh an do thunderspark when you pop these, run back till u cant c his hp then release him and pull out carbuncle, people say carbuncle sucks but his free if you got the right gear and suprisingly he did more dmg on these than ramuh was hittin these for, i killed one and was ready to bust out another when i found out they depoped lol, you juss kill 1 away from the others and they depop, there you go click gate and watch cs

Hi i've read through this a few times and i see all the different ways/jobs that solo this and i was wondering how to solo it drg/blu? do you attack all three or do the lil run away and solo trick??

i'ma 75drg/37blu with relativly decent gear lol

Just soloed it easily as thf/nin. Just use a sleep bolt on Warder Aglaia and Warder Thalia, then run for the hill leading to tavnazian safehold. Don't even bother using flee. With thf evasion Euphrosyne will have a hard time getting through shadows and you won't even have to fight the other two. When it does, it will hit for around 100 dmg. Nothing too scary with bloody bolts and Ni though.

When Euphrosyne is nearing death, pull him back toward the gate, kill him and check the gate for CS. Super easy!

i know most of you are talking about solo style. but i did this today as 75PLD/1SMN with 60NPC. i was reading below about the SMN solo and it gave me an idea. i let ramuh distract one warder long enough so i could run away with only 2 to fight. he died quick due to my smn lvl but it still worked. i ran back about half the distance to tavnazia and started going to work. i just did a typical fight with earth staff and using spirit taker for mp. the NPC was for haste, extra cures, and enfeebling magic like paralyze. not really needed but i figured it wouldn't hurt. after i killed one i started running back to the gate. as expected the other one had depopped and i was left with one yet to kill. so i finished the 2nd warder off, touched gate, and got cs. needless to say, this was an interesting approach but it worked. i even surprised myself! ^^

/sigh, i almost solo'ed it as pld/rdm, got to the last one with round 400 hp and 100 mp, it was almost dead then it killed me, gonna try again later, /rdm doesn't really help besides the extra mp and maybe phalanx

I solo'd these three dectors (Warders) over the weekend.

My first attempt I went as 75BLM/RDM. It was an OK dry run. I felt I would run out of MP before killing the detectors so I warped out.

For my second attempt I tried /WHM. I stored up 300 TP and started the fight with Earthcrusher for 600+ to each detector. Sweet. Unfortunately, I either counted ticks wrong or the detectors woke up early. . . add in a little lag and they were able to take down my Blink and Stoneskin and interrupt a couple of Sleepga castings. My exp is not 43,999 anymore lol.

Third attempt, again as /WHM. I simply prepared better. I remembered Barthundera which cut the Warder's damage nicely, and Ice Spikes which also worked well. So, the fight went: Earthcrusher > Sleepga > short rest > Thundaga III > Sleepga II > Rebuff & rest > Thundaga III > Sleepga II > replace 4 buffs (Blink, Stoneskin, Barthundera, Ice Spikes) & drink Hi-potion to make HP white again & drink Hi-Ether for 50 MP (no rest) > Thundaga III > Sleepga II > Manafont > Burst II (mob dies) & Freeze II (mob dies) & Thunder IV (mob dies) > /cheer.

Thunder IV was enough to finish one of the detectors so I think this can be done without AM2. Also I finished the fight with ~220 MP and my 2nd Yagudo drink later brought my MP up to ~260ish. This is plenty of MP to make another sleep / nuke volley if necessary. None of my enfeebles or nukes were resisted. When the detectors got past my Stoneskin the average damage was perhaps 50. I guess BLM defense is less than a DRG ^^. I also nuked early due to my experience during the second try. In other words, a more confident BLM can almost certainly get one more tick out of each rest.

Did this today solo. DRG75/BLU37 grabed a protect4 on the way out of town ran down to the gate ate a taco cast cocoon and proceeded to whoop their ***. very easy barely used any mp. they hit for 5-20dmg each when they actually managed to hit and 1k-1400dmg penta's took care of them rather quickly

Tried soloing Euphrosyn (Sp) like the below post said as a 75BLM/WHM. Killed him, (Resists sleep after a while) but didn't get the CS.

If you can kill more than one, more power to ya, but BLM soloing 3 is probably out of the question.

I just killed all 3 as BLM.. on 3 seperate pops. After the first two times of not getting it, I thought it might be that it takes me a couple minutes to get back to the gate and you may only have a short time to touch it. So on the third one, I brought it back to the gate before finishing it off, and clicked it for my CS.

So either you now have to kill all 3 now(possibly before zoning), or you only have a short time to get your CS after the kill.

I just soloed Euphrosyne as BRD/NIN. Buff up with shadows and double Minne before checking the gate. Spawn mobs, Horde Lullaby (1 resisted, slept it again), woke Euphrosyne and took it back to the hill leading to Safehold. Typical fight once there. Slept it when HP was low, sang Paeon to heal etc. When mob was around 10% I ran it back to the bottom of the hill that goes up to the gate. Killed Euphrosyne and checked gate to get the CS.

This strat still works as of may 1st, 2008. Just Solo'd as 70BLM.

Sleep all, Bring Warder Euphrosyne back towards the safehold and when out of range the others will despawn.

Make sure to get the killing spell next to the gate to ensure you get the CS.

Just a note, Gravity sticks well.

Buff up, reraise, stoneskin, blink.

summon Ramuh
Touch the door
Whatever one ramuh atuo-attacks, thunderspark it asap so that ramuh takes hate.
run a good distance away (far enough away so that you no longer see ramuh's HP)
release ramuh and summon your favorite soloing avatar.
kill the one that comes at you.
the other 2 will sit at the gate and wait for you.
carby pull them one at a time and kill them
touch the gate.

Did this just now, worked fine.

Just did this as 75RDM/BLM, solo.

Wasn't too bad, really. I built up some TP beforehand, and buffed, then rested back to full MP. I cast Sneak, just in case the Warders could be sneak-pulled (it doesn't work) and proceeded to pop them.

With capped Enfeebling Magic, they sleep very easily, and I was able to pick them off one by one. With -10% dmg gear they were only hitting me for about 20-30 with Phalanx up, and they crit for about 100.

All in all, just keep them slept, and melee them, using TP whenever ready (I used Evisceration). I had to Convert once, right before I engaged the 3rd and final Warder. Easy fight, and I was never in any danger. Went in this order: Euphrosyne, Thalia, Aglaia...but there didn't seem to be any difference between the Warders, so you can kill them in any order you want.

On my first attempt, I was unable to pop the NMs. I was sure I'd done all the cutscenes. I was on the right mission and everything. So since I couldn't think of anything else, I went back to get the last cutscene just to make sure. I did get it, so I figured I'd just forgotten a cutscene. No big deal. However, on the second attempt...

This time I managed to pop the NMs. I was 65RDM/32BLU. I slept two of them and ran to the hill going up to the Safehold, as Specie suggested. I killed one, ran back, and sure enough, the other two were gone. However, when I clicked on the gate, I didn't get a cutscene. It just said, "This gate leads to Snowmint Point. However, it seems to be locked..." just like it had when I couldn't pop them. I clicked it again and again, but it just kept saying the same thing. Eventually I popped the NMs again. Having no buffs up, I just ran for the zone.

Anyone know why I didn't get the cutscene? My linkshell is doing the airship fight in three hours ; ; I don't want to miss it. Please help!

Edit: I figured it out ^^ Apparently I had to kill a particular one of the NMs. Killing Aglaia didn't work, but killing Euphrosyne (sp?) did. Hope this helps anyone else having the same problem.

Just did this today solo. Go in and sleepga them and pull one detector to the hill going up to the safehold. The other detectors will wake up but wont come all the way over and then turn back. Solo the one detector once defeated the others should have dispawned check the door and get your cs. Hope this helps anyone trying to solo this like I did.

Solo this as Thf75/nin, with lots of bolts (venom, acid, bloody). Hard but fun fight.
