Directions for Mini-Quest

To begin, empty out your inventory to obtain as many open slots as possible, because the actions you perform give you items that will not autosort into your inventory. The main contact is in Al Zahbi (J-6), Gajaad, and he wants 1,000 Imperial Bronze Pieces to support the city's defenses.

Trade him 99 + 1 (100) at a time...
Dunno why people are acting like 99 is 100... lol. There's no mathmatical errors in the NPC... /sigh

Trading him the 99 +1 at a time gives you 1 water per trade, and you won't have to cry and scream that the NPC is cheating you out of your hard earned bronze pieces... I have 9 waters from it and my turban.
dont kno how ta add lol

Holy ******* **** are you mentally retarded? I hope you don't talk in public as horribly as you type in public.
Why the trip?
# Jul 25 2007 at 7:40 AM Rating: Decent
Im a bit confused. Why would I take the boat to exchange 20 gold pieces that equal 20K standing points when I could just get 1000 bronze in whitegate for 20K?
Why the trip?
# Jul 25 2007 at 11:12 PM Rating: Decent
Because it would take forever to buy them from the NPC in Whitegate, especially once you factor in the lag.

He's not ripping us off. It's just that when you trade him an amount that goes over the next complete 100 interval, he gives you the "You have donated #00 imp. bronze pieces. Here's a w. water for your kindness." However the true amount is acknowledged and can be checked upon talking with him a second time, or even giving him 1 bronze piece.
lol

As far as him not counting.... try this , he starts off with one that you havent even given him, ok so your total is 1, now trade him a stack and then 1 thats 101, now trade another stack .... 200 not 199.....

Hey i have something that might help out people to thought they got ripped of by the guy.
I did this the other days and i traded then a stack at a time to try to get as many waters as possible. So i did 99 then 1, got a water then did 99 again, now up to 199 then i did 99 again AND IT SAID 200.. i was like MF'ER ripped me off!!. So i continued to trade til i was out of stack and it said i had given 900 or so. I was like "I'm SURE i had 10 stacks and a few extra for left over." I was pissed. But before i left i went and talked to him again and he left said i had 990 or something like that. So... it turns out he really can't add when giving all the pieces, but ask him once again after getting out of the menus the first time and i think he'll add them all up correctly the second time.

Hope this helps.

Is there Whitegate fame or Aht Urgan fame? Do I have to have some in order to get this quest? I can't seem to get this quest although I have already floated and traded and have 1k bronze pieces ready for him

I don't believe fame affects this. When I first arrived in Aht Urhgan, prior to doing any missions or quests there, I was able to start this. When I didn't have the donation and left he yelled after me stating my level and name.

However, since I'm not aware how Aht Urhgan fame works (or if it exists for any purpose) I will state I had Level 8 fame in Jeuno, higher than level 5 fame in Sandy and Bastok and Level 4 in Windy.

EDIT: I forgot the obvious ><;; Gajaad will not accept Bronzes or anything involving the quest if Chochoroon has been kidnapped.

Just a heads up...I decided to ride the ship on my 47 whm since it was the job i was on at the time...and the green birdies aggro. So go on a 75 job or don't leave the bottom of the boat. x.x I've heard rumors that you get 'Apkallu hate' from killing them but I never touched any of the little bastards and it aggroed me.

How do you activate this quest. I have talked to the npc and nothing. I have tried trading bronze pieces and won't accept them.

What am I doing wrong?

Even after you get your turban you can still trade him coins and still improve the empires defense. Thread and person who tested this is all here. If your server is having problems in beseiged, try trading some coins and getting some extra npcs to help out.

I traded 100 bronze pcs at a time and got 9 or 10 waters.
Most affective way...

The most affective way to do this is trade 100 coins a time (a stack of 99 and one more) in each trade. That way you get maximum waters for your coins.

You don't get just four walahra waters. You get one every 100 bronze you donate iirc, so you get ten.
About the Way he Counts coins
# Oct 28 2006 at 3:10 PM Rating: Good
Gajaad will not just throw away any of your coins, he just counts your coins in hundreds at a time. So if you diposit 3 stacks it will only show up as 200 coins. But you trade 3 more, it will count as 300.

That's worth a rate-up in my book. I had traded him 10 stacks of 99 and wondered why I only had 900 registered. I was about to log out in LagGate and start cashing in coins on my alts, but then I realized I only had to trade him like 9 more coins after reading your post. Thanks, that super helped!
