Summary

You are once again in the employ of Lady Karababa. This time, your role is to protect the ambassador within the ominous Navukgo Execution Chamber. Will you be able to redeem your reputation with President Naja...?

Walkthrough

After completing the AU21 - Finders Keepers mission, head to Navukgo Execution Chamber on the Vozold Island area of Mount Zhayolm.

Upon entering Navukgo Execution Chamber, you will receive a cutscene. Upon the completion of the cutscene, head deeper into the chamber and click on the Decorative Bronze Gate for a second cutscene. After its completion, click on the gate a second time to receive a brief cutscene before being teleported to the battlefield.

BCNM Fight

Six people are allowed into the battlefield, with a thirty minute time limit imposed on the fight. Any buffs on the party members will be wiped upon entry, so be certain to wait and buff inside.

For this fight, you will be aided by Karababa to defeat the chimera type mob, Khimaira 13.

Karababa will appear in front of Khimaira 13 upon entering the battlefield, but will not perform any actions against it until you or a member of your party have begun fighting it. Once she has engaged it, she will attack by casting various Black Mage spells, each time reciting a brief incantation beforehand that indicates what type of spell it will be.

  • For Flare II - "Fuel for the fire! It does not pay to invoke my ire!"

  • For Burst II - "How I love to rip things asunder! Witness the power of lightning and thunder!"

  • For Quake II - "Sometimes it comes as quite a shock, how much damage you can do with a simple rock!"

  • For Tornado II - "This battle is growing stale. How about we have a refreshing gale!"

  • For Flood II - "Water is more dangerous than most expect. Never fear, I'll teach you respect!"

  • For Freeze II - "Well, if you won't play nice, I'll put your sorry hide on ice!"

At multiple times during the course of the fight, a message will be displayed saying that "The Khimaira's breathing has become ragged". During this time, its physical attacks will be far weaker, and it will often be intimidated by whoever has the most hate on it, be it yourself and members of your party, Karababa, or pets. This period of weakness will wear off over time.

After certain conditions are met, Karababa will say, "That's quite enough...It's time for me to start playing rough!" and then proceeds to begin spamming tier 1 elemental spells for anywhere between 800 to over 2,000 damage for each spell.

If Karababa's HP falls below 50% during the course of the battle, she will escape, though her presence in the battlefield is not required in order to win the fight. Likewise, if you and your party are knocked out during the course of the battle, it is possible to still win the fight if Karababa manages to defeat Khimaira 13 before she escapes.

After Khimaira 13 is defeated, a cutscene will begin, ultimately instructing you to return to Aht Urhgan Whitegate and talk to Naja Salaheem.

Did this the other day. Party was 3 person set-up.
75 Taru whm/smn, 75 Hume Blm/rdm, 75 Galka Drg/Sam(Playtoy for the monster in the beginning)
we tried a couple of times but kept running outta mp when the mob was at about 1/4 health. So after a while we went back to get some ethers/yags. For the most part it was a simple fight. Drg got hate and tried not to die before Kab got hate. Me(Blm) and whm mostly spammed Cure 3's got the mob down to like 5% and Drg decided to engage. Luckily he had full tp and penta thrusted the mob and it died. Over all simple fight if ya go down the healing route. From the dmg the mob did id say melee fight is gonna be almost imposible. The biggest issue was mp so yags/refreshers/ethers/ refresh equip / santioned refresh are all good idea's

Party Setup: 75RDM/37BLM & 75WHM/37BLM

Decided to do this mission since no pt invites today. Could only find one other person to help me. Headed out to Alzadaal Undersea Ruins since it seemed quicker to me. Got to Mount Zhaylom.

1st First:
Buffed up i went in got hate. But was killed instantly before taru casted magic. I got raised. And was doing ok, until Karababa health got to 50% and she escaped.

2nd Fight:
Went in got aggroed, but this time I 2hr and spammed Stoneskin it went threw a good amount of them. Then Karababa got hate FINALLY! We were doing fine. We got mob down 30% before Karababa escaped on us again her heath was at 60% that time.

3rd Fight:
Tried to cast Enfeebing magic so i woul'nt die when getting aggro, but it resisted. Me and WHM both die.

4th Fight:
Went in this time i got aggro and just spammed cur eon myself while WHM helped me. Were doing ok until mob was at abotu 20% we were running outta MP and i had already used Convert. So i ran in started meleeing to get hate off of Karababa. it killed me in a few hits but not before it casted Burst 2 and Flood 2. But it still had about 10% left so WHM came and meleed as well and Karababa fianlly killed it.

RDM(me) WHM (Hellfried)

Does anyone know if Karaba can start fighting on her own with out aggroing it yourself?

Because when I go in, I have all my buffs up and I get aggro and die then I RR and try to heal Karaba but I always seem to run out of MP so if I didnt have to die in the beginning and if Karaba could just aggro it herself I'd have full MP and I'd win. I wish she'd attack first =[
sumwhat confused

How to get to Navukgo Execution Chamber.

How to get to Navukgo Execution Chamber:

To get there take the Halvung Staging point. From the Halvung Staging point follow the right wall to reach the Gates of Halvung.
(If you do not have Halvung Staging point chocobo to Halvung and Escape to Mount Z. From where you end up head NW until you a tunnel at L-6, then head directly went and through until you reach the gates of Halvung.)
**From the staging point use both sneak and invisible to get to the gates, bombs aggro magic**

At the gates of Halvung have someone use the Cast Metal Plate to open the gate, then all go through (once you have it, you're good forever.) If no one has it, examine the gates, then go to all the ??? pop spots on listed HERE for it.

Once past the gates make your way to (H-7). Around the area with alot of puddings there is a tunnel to the west. Take the tunnel to the West and make your way to (G-7). Here you zone into Halvung in the NW Corner.

Once inside Halvung reapply Sneak and Invisible and go immediently west and cross the bridge. From the bridge, turn left (south) and follow the right wall to get to E-7 and zone out to Mount Z. there.

At this point invisible is no longer needed, as the Wamouras have true sight and the dragons aggro sound. Follow the left wall until you reach C-7, reapply both sneak and invisible, and go down the tunnel, skipping the first left and taking the second. Soon after you will have reached Navukgo Execution Chamber.

There is nothing in the chamber besides the door for ISNMs and this mission. So rest up, then go beat on the NM.

easiest fight i've ever done.... did it as 75WHM/BLM, 75BRD/WHM, and 75DRG/WHM (me)... we zoned in and buffed up, i threw on SS and blink, and aggrod the chimera so that karababa would start casting, then we just cured karababa, as she held hate... apprently if she drops below 40% she'll warp out, but otherwise, if you don't engage the mob or cast at it, it will fight karababa.. but a single touch and all theh ate is on you. took 15 minutes of us curing her for her to take it down... it was laughable.
not hard

really not much to say about this fight. my party was pld, blm, whm, rdm, blu, war. told the war to spampage and the blu to go all out physical and karababa did a lot of the work. i kept pld, war, and blu hasted and regen on pld and war and had to do very very little curing. karababa didn't even get hit until the last 5 seconds of the fight. {Too Weak} of a fight... hope it gets tougher at the end.

How do I get to D-8 of Vozold Island from the Mount Z Runic Portal??
Surprisingly Easy
# Dec 10 2006 at 6:17 AM Rating: Decent
This is surprisingly easy - the Chimera has almost NO defence at all, but has... 20-25000hp, which means it takes a while to grind down.

The AoE damage/terrorize was doing 300-400 to a party of 75's (WAR, SAM, THF meleeing), but nothing too major.

We had myself (SMN) and 2x BLM on the back lines - be warned, their magic was getting resisted a LOT - so they gave up and concentrated on healing. Predator Claws did 1600 all three times it got used.

Basically you can just keep hate off Karababa because she does a hell of a lot of damage, and concentrate yourselves on staying alive and helping out when you can.

It's not a tough fight, but that doesn't mean take it lightly because things CAN go bad if you don't concentrate.
Surprisingly Easy

"Travel to the Navukgo Execution Chamber, which you can enter from D-8 in Mount Zhayolm."

OK I got that part, but once you take the Runic Warp to Mount Z.; how do I get to Vozold Island??
