Description

Description: An agent sent to spy on the secret training grounds of the Mamool Ja has been captured. Rescue him before he is interrogated for Imperial secrets.

Objective: Break through the locked doors to locate the Imperial Agent.

Starting at G-7 head towards the eastern part of the map where there are 6 rooms on the north and south side.

The idea is to get inside the rooms indicated on the map and check to see if there is an NPC inside. Checking the NPC unlocks the Rune of Release but the problem is the door is locked.

Various methods to open the door involve fighting a Mamool Ja with your back to the door. If the Mamool Ja is facing the door properly several of it's weapon skills, such as Firespit, and any WS that throws its weapon, should hit the door and force it open.

Once the door is open run inside and check the Pot Hatch to hopefully find Brujeel. If he's not there move onto another room.

Once you locate Brujeel head to (J-8) where the Rune of Release spawns.

once u pick a door, ull want to grab a mamool with a weapon...they have an ability called Axe Throw or Staff Throw depending on which they are holding. i suggest grabbing a mamool with a staff...they seem to hit the door with it more often than the axe wielding mamool...there is usually 1-2 staff mamool inside and a bunch outside...also, id say never blind the mobs cuz even if the staff/axe goes towards the door, it can still say "the mammol uses staff toss, but misses the dipilated gate" and that really sucks. also, dont paralize it, petrify, etc etc... if ur relying on a weapon toss, then u will prolly want to build the mobs tp...but obviously, not kill it, so most of the time, /wars or war/? will use defender to lower their damage...u know...stuff like that

I did this mission last night, The first time we wiped. We opened one gate, no luck. We got the second gate open. We found the NPC but right as he warped the time ran out. Basically Have all your meelee line up in the center of gate on top of each other. This is the quickest way to get to break gate, Theyre WS can can also break the gates other than spit fire.

Just want to share my experience. It seems we have better luck with PLD tank than NIN tank on this. I read from some JP sites that they actually suggested thf/war or war/nin without shadow. One time we were down to last five minute and the bard went to "tank" a door. The WS missed, gate down and the prisoner was inside.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me, how do i get the mobs to hit the gate with spitfire, we have tank standing with back to the gate, but when the mob uses spitfire it hits the tank and not the gate, it sometimes does hit gate but we did this assult 3 times tonight and the mobs have hit the gate about 5 times in total, so we totaly run out of time on the first gate every time, any help would be great thanks^^

Couple days late but oh well here goes-.

Let's say the first gate you're doing is the single gate on the north end of the square section. NIN type mamools (without weapons) patrol around the square shape on the map. Usually to ensure a safe pull from one of the neighbouring rooms you need to take down a NIN type mamool. I really recommend you don't reply on fire spit to take down the doors, just focus on taking down the NINs as fast as possible. In the rooms that don't have gates for you to break down you'll find weapon bearing mamools.

Pull one of them back to the gate and fight that and wait for it to use stave/axe toss (depending on whether its a WHM or BST type). In my experience if you fight in first person and back yourself right up to the gate, making sure you're in the center, these toss moves always hit the gate. I could be wrong, but that's what I've observed in the position of tanking these things as NIN myself. Note: Axe/Stave toss will one-shot the door if it hits it, guaranteed. Have one person disengage from the weapon bearing mob and check the pot in there, if he's there great, if he's not finish up fast and move onto the next gate.

Fire spit is far too unreliable (and quite frankly hurts way too much) to count on to bust down the doors, the only reason you should be worrying about it is if you have to pull NIN mamools to clear a path.

There are three rooms with weapon mobs and 3 gates, so it makes sense that -if you position yourself correctly-, stave/axe toss is 100% chance of hitting the door, so if you work on that assumption and just try to blitz the NIN ones in the way as fast as possible you should come out the victors.

Just a warning, I noticed once when i used a WS while tanking a WHM type it's staff just disappeared. I don't know if I broke it or what, but be careful about using WS if you're facing its front. (We won that round because he was behind the second door).

Oh and one more thing, I recommend having some sort of system set up in advance on how to deal with the BST types pets if you have to pull one. We didn't the one time we had to and it could've gotten very ugly if our MNK hadn't had a few lucky counter procs. Hope this helps.
