Description

The object of this one is survival mode. It makes Garrison look like cake. You will end up fighting about 200 mobs by the time you are done. While you fight, you will get several temporary items to help you survive. They will fight you in waves of about 20, but at least don't hit TOO hard and don't carry too much HP, either. Good luck!

Best assault ever!

Just beat with 4. blu, sam, smn, rdm. Blu completely owns this place. Body slam, blood saber, plasma charge, and circle blade. Our blu destroyed this place with those 4 things. Sam (me) usin Seiryu's sword spamming circle blade, rdm joytoy+circle, and smn doin his thing. Too bad the points are weak cuz I'd love to farm this assault, but fun regardless.
Holy hell fun

I do this assault a lot with just the strategy:

MNK/WAR (me), WAR/NIN, WHM/SMN.

Me and War go after the mobs, WHM sits back and heals. WAR uses sword main hand and axe off hand for circle blade, i use wagh baghnakhs, just use AoE weapon skill whenever you can and you should have no problem, barring one or two major ordeals.

We've only had 1 wipe and 1 death of the WAR b/c the WHM used an Ether and it locked up her cures and it wouldnt go off, and we died. But besides that, its usually pretty safe.

To update for Angelusdemonus, we think we've found a way to pop the NM.

We killed the first 20 mamools that we could, and ONLY the first 20 mamools.

Our strategy (with RDM/WHM, SAM/??? [can't remember what he had subbed], MNK/WAR, and THF/NIN...our BLU lost his internet midway through our SM Lebros Cavern ;;) was the RDM would diaga all the mobs to get initial hate w/ stoneskin and phalanx up, and we would pick out each mamool that we saw. Once we killed the mamools in the group, more would start showing up (I think there is a minimum mamool/spawn...probably 5?) and we would kill those.

Once the kill count came to 20, we started killing all the mobs, and around kill 135 a NM spawned named Bluethunder Kaqool Ja (BLU). The NM seems to be around what a T-VT would be outside of this assault. He was hitting me (THF/NIN) for about 150 damage/hit. We wiped shortly after he spawned because we weren't prepared for him, but we're fairly sure that our pop strategy is correct.

With our normal party setup, we plan on having our BLU use Frypan and Body Slam to wipe the lesser mobs while the rest of the party focuses on taking down the NM.

Supposedly there is another NM that spawns in the second wave that is harder than the first, but we have yet to see the second wave, let alone the second NM, but I think our strategy for the first wave will still work.

Again, AoE moves in this assault are CRUCIAL. Killing the first 20 mamools is very slow, especially when you have to pick them out of a moving crowd, so any way to take a lot of mobs out FAST is going to help save time for the second wave.

And for the evasion update, we have done this assault twice since the first post and I got 3 evasion skill levels on the second and 6 on the third to bring me to 249, and skillups were still coming by the .3s. I'm becoming more and more convinced that this assault will cap A+ evasion, meaning that the mobs are EM+, just with very, very low stats.

We did this assault with a group of 5: SAM/RNG, THF/NIN, MNK/WAR, RDM/WHM, BLU/NIN.

You are engaged by several different times of mobs: Bugards, Puks, Cocktrices, Mamools (BST, NIN, BLM, WHM). The mobs that are not Mamool go down in 1-4 hits (with my Soboro it took around 3-4 hits). Mamool mobs have around 2x the HP of other mobs, but its still not that much. In a rare instance they will 2hr, as I caught a WHM Mamool using Benediction during the fight, only to wipe him a half-second later with Sidewinder ^^. BLMs use Tier 3 -ga and Tier 4 magic, but it will not do more then 300-400 damage.

During the fight you get messages on how many mobs you have killed, as well as temporary medications such as: Potions, Hi potions, Ethers, Elixirs, Wings, etc. None give any medication effect so you can use them as needed. The messages of how many mobs you killed and the items you get are not related, in that you get items randomly vs. "because you killed 25 mobs, here is an item". At least that is what I had observed.

Sidewinder cleaned a mob in one shot, dealing around 1500+, but they have more evasion then Fomors from The Ashu Talif Assault 1, if anyone is familar with it. I seemed to miss around 30% with Ranged Acc+34.

THF's Cyclone rarely wiped mobs in 1 shot, dealing maybe 100-200 damage. But our THF was unleashing it once he got 100% TP.

MNK's Spinning Fist cleaned mobs in 1 shot most of the time.

BLU used Frypan which most of the time wiped mobs.

I caught out RDM using Banishga for kicks...did like 70ish and never killed mobs. I've heard BLM -ga tier II doing wonders on this assault.

There is a way to pop a NM, whose name I cannot recall at the moment. Killing him drops a key item Mamool Blackscale Key which is used to pop a 2nd wave of 200 if you trade it to an NPC located on the map. I'll repost the location of the NPC when we do this again. We have not figured out how to pop, but onec again I'll be sure to repost if we do.

On a side note these mobs con near Even Match I think. Our THF got a whole 5 levels on evasion just from this assault. This is one of the funner assaults you'll ever do. 1st win, 200 mobs only, we earned 799 (without the band). Not sure how many the guy with the band got. Remember we had 5 people.

EDIT: Location of the NPC is I-6 of the map. Still have not found a way to start the 2nd wave.

On a side note (I'm the THF that was in the pt), my evasion before the fight was 235, after the fight it was @240. I wasn't paying attention to how fast I was getting skillups, but after being hit for 5-10 damage by 5 mobs at a time, skillups were coming quickly. Mobs may not necessarily be 'Even Match', but I plan on doing this Assault to level evasion up as much as possible. I'll post on what level it stops skilling up to get a good idea as to the level of the mob.

And Cyclone isn't very effective (wind-based magical WS) at 100% tp, but any lvl 60+ dagger WS will be overkill. Cyclone is still the dagger WS of choice for this Assault because of the number of mobs hit with it.
