Description

This mission is a little tricky. The goal is to feed all the hungry soldiers in the time provided. Problem is that there are True Sound crawlers in your way. On the plus side, the crawlers move very very slowly. It is recommended that any form of movement+ equipment be worn and sub THF for Flee. You can also have 1 person gather all the crawlers via aggro and take them to a far off corner. While he will die, it'll clear the way for everyone else to make the deliveries. Good luck! Strategy

Updated below by AnimalOnSylph

to receive food, you must talk to the NPC that you start next to. She will only hand out so many at once to your pt, so if you dont get one, wait until someone else uses theirs.

There are 5 types of food, each with a point value. The object is to feed each NPC 7 points; so dont waste big point foods on almost full NPCs.

Steak = 5 pts; Sub = 4 pts; Jerkey = 3 pt; Soup = 2 pts; Bread = 1 pt

To feed an NPC, all you have to do is talk to them.

There are 12 NPCs in this place. 3 to the NW, 3 to the SE, 2 N, and 2+2 to the SW. Across this entire area are crawlers. Sleep them if you can, or, try to outrun them. It is highly reomended that you bring some form of RR with multiple charges, as you may die a few times here.

If you know that you are going to die, try not to die in a main hallway, and do not trap yourself in a dead end.

As posted, communication is the key to this. You must tell your party what food is being fed to which NPC. You can tell them apart by their location on the map and their shield insignia.

do not be afraid to break into smaller groups to do this. If everyone has their own RR, +movement item (like sprinter's shoes), and knows where to go, this can be very easy.

Crawlers don't move slower

The crawlers do NOT move any slower than any other mob. If you have speed enhancing gear you'll outrun them, but if you don't they'll beat you down. I was on a straightaway and just got beat to hell when I figured that I could just run away from one if it aggroed.

Don't be fooled! Bring a kiter.

First off if you can't communicate, you'll lose this, you have to make sure you don't waste the steak (use it on a fresh person) having someone check the soldiers after feeding and identifying them by the shield if they're fed helps too.

Movement speed gear helps a lot. Going with Ninja's in AF boots at night is easiest, you can kite and feed at the same time, everyone should probably go /thf (or thf main). Just make sure one person is not kiting all the crawlers, I was able to kite 2 or 3 easily as a lvl 60 NIN doing uncapped, I just used Flee to get away and cast Utsusemi again, more than that would have been pain full as if they gather together can wipe shadows and hit hard before you can run away.

All crawlers detect by scent. I have yet to discover if deodorize works, and have yet to find a single person to verify whether it works or not.

Question about crawler speed

In the description it says that the crawlers run really slow. Does that mean that they move slower than our regular running speed? If they do, then how come no one has tried to kite them away from the others and then, get a deodorize so they will lose his scent?

Well, they DO move slower than normal, and i dont think they detect by scent because this would make it way too easy.
