Walkthrough

Talk to Imasuke in Port Jeuno. Let him know that you're going to Delkfutt's Tower and he'll ask you to bring him back a Kaiser Sword in exchange for the Map of Delkfutt's Tower that he found at a book fair.

The sword drops from Dancing Weapons in Qufim Island or can be bought at the Auction House.

i have a level 45 MNK/25 WAR on unicorn and i get the drop ohh 2 times out of 7 most of the time, once i got the drop 3 times in a row and didnt see any for the next 5 after that and then i got it twice in a row...

used to sell for about 8k in unicorn juno AH but last i checked it was going between 4 & 5 k

Good Luck. the quest is definatly Fame dependant so Get it up in selbina with the boyhoda moss or just keep doing the repetable quest in sandy, basty, and windy....

the Airship quest A Decerning Eye is also a good way to go and raise fame, not as fast as some of the other more repetable quest but it does net you a free 500 gil [300 of which is profit :)] and fame in the country you do it in.

so you cant loose for that combo

as i said Good Luck
How to activate
# Nov 18 2005 at 1:00 AM Rating: Decent
How do you activate this quest?

I talked the NPC and all he said was "Going to the tower, be careful!"

Is he based off of fame?

Has anyone verfied that the Weapons on Qufim Island still drop these? I have gotten several in the past, but the first time (just now quit) I tried after the most recent update I got 0 after killing at least 28 on a Full Moon with THF 15 subbed. I even killed Trickster once. :P

I still haven't got the quest but I noticed something interesting. In 22 lvls (form 20-42) I got one frkn sword. since lvl 43 I get the drop about every 3 weapons killed. so Either find someone at a higher lvl with nothing to do or if you are on the bismarck server send me a tell. I hate those fr's and would be happy to assist you if I am not doing anything of importance.

*oh yeah 44 drk and not enough fame to get the frickin map
Can solo at
# Mar 24 2005 at 1:55 PM Rating: Decent
I solo this two nights ago at lvl 32 monk/war, after about 5 kills i switch jobs to 32monk/whm, slow down how long it took them to kill, but was ready to fight two before needing full healing. also had full buff going into each fight.

I got the items on fight #17, took a total of an 3 hours and 15min.

PS dont fight one where giants spawn at, lol

OK...a word or two on this quest.

I killed at least 25 Dancing Weapons before the sword dropped (It append just as the maintenance started so I was worried it would not be there when I logged back in, it was.

As a Level 36 Thief/Ninja I can solo these things with ease and end my battles with my HP at 100% thanks to Utsusemi and Bloody Bolts. These things are a bit more resistant to melee damage I find and they hit hard. If you can't solo a lot of these with minimal downtime than you are wasting your time questing the sword. Get a PT going if you are lower level if you absolutely must quest the map.

BTW...

You need to talk to the NPC to log the quest before he will accept the trade.

EDIT: These things spawn anywhere by the spine looking structures. In the tunnel just outside of te tunnel on the right as well as by the spine closest to the tower

The NM in Qufim Island I'm pretty sure also drops the Kaiser Sword, Trickster Kinitix I think it is. THey spawn around the entrance to the tower, where most of the Dancing weapons there are from, on that huge white thing. Hope this helps :)

Would it be wise to buy the Sword in AH or just Kill these pest? I can get a Whm29 to assist me if i need Healing.
Please advise all is welcome.
Buy it at AH?
# May 31 2004 at 4:41 AM Rating: Decent
Was this sword's availability changed? I checked the AH lists in Lower, and Upper Jeuno three times, and didn't see the sword listed anywhere.

*goes to check again*

I hope you can still buy it =(

-sigh- Nevermind, I just checked again and it was on the list. But I kid you not, it was not there the first couple of times I looked ^^;;

How do you get quests?
# May 30 2004 at 10:55 PM Rating: Decent
I am level 33 red mage/16 paladin and I can get no quests in Juneau. This is the most ridiculous thing I've seen so far. I can't get the map to the tower because Imasuke needs more fame from me???? and I can't get my fame up because NO ONE of the characters will give me any quests.

Does anyone have any idea why I would be in a catch 22 situation? I'd call a GM but it appears that there isn't actually any areas that they DO cover.

GMs aren't for in game questions, it explicitly says that on the helpdesk page you get every time you try to call a GM. About the quest and getting fame- Jeuno fame starts with your total accumulated fame in Selbina, Sandoria, Windurst, and Bastok (Mhaura and Rabao might also cross over a little). Doing a ton of repeatable quests in the 3 major cities will get you enough fame in Jeuno to do a few Jeuno quests. If you really don't want to put for the effort into raising fame in other nations, there is a quests you can do that involves lighting lamps in jeuno. I'm pretty sure there's no fame prerequisite for that. I could be wrong, as I haven't tried it (I just turn in boyahada moss that I get while farming gobbue in the sanctuary of zi'tah for fame)

"Only the Best" quest is the easiest way to gain fame in Sandy, Bastok, Jueno, Selbina and Rabao all at the same time!!! I handed in 11 stacks of Boyahda moss, therefore completing this repeatable quest 132 times, and had enough fame in Jeuno to even do all 4 Gobbiebag Quests. You can also turn in 3 Millioncorns or 5 La Theine Cabbages per completion. I used the moss because I could do it in 1 trip.

Turn in LaTheine cabbage to the sheep guy in Selbina to raise your jueno fame.

I would say the easiest way to get fame in jeuno is by diong the bard quests thatsw aht did and had enough fame to do rse. good luck

Do more quests in Windurst, Bastok and Sandoria, and Do the quest in lower jeuno. I have currently level5 fame in windy, 3 fame in sando, 3 fame in bastk, and 5 fame in jeuno.

fame for map
# Feb 22 2004 at 3:52 PM Rating: Default
I had no fame in windurst, or san doria, or jeuno, just Bastok level 5. It let me get the quest for the map.
Jeuno Fame
# Feb 15 2004 at 7:15 PM Rating: Decent
ive heard that jeuno fame is derived from the fame of your lowest fame city (windy, sandy, bastok) plus whatever fame you have done in jeuno.

if this is true, get your fame up in all cities then do a few a jeuno quests
RE: Jeuno Fame
# May 14 2004 at 2:11 AM Rating: Decent
nah, Jeuno fame is the combined fame of all 3 other cities

Just a quick comment. At lv 32 I can pretty easily solo the weapons. However, the drop rate is SO low, that you'd almost surely be better off farming gil w/ your preferred method for the same amount of time and just purchasing the sword.
Fame needed

To get this quest I needed the Jeuno fame :

"Your name is mentioned quite often"

Mendi is the NPC in lower jeuno, who tells fame, he is in the middle under an umbrella at the seaside.

Ok, thanks very much. Would you happen to know off hand if there is a quest to get a Qufim map? Or do ya pretty much need to shell out the 3 grand?

There is no quest to obtain Qufim's Map. It is only attainable by purchase. Though I don't think you need to buy that map at all. Qufim is relatively small, and very easy to commit to memory (compared to other maps in the game).

# Jan 09 2004 at 9:44 AM Rating: Default
Doesnt the Qufim map also include Behemoth's Domain and Delkfutt's Tower (which is three levels)?

If you have the gil, I dont view this as something which wont eventually be used.
RE: Map
# Jan 09 2004 at 9:45 AM Rating: Default
Doh, didnt see that the tower was a completely separate map. So ya, maybe you can get by w/o it.

The only reason to get the Qufim Island map is if you plan on getting Beastmaster. And that's only so you can find the grid coordinate. Yes the map's helpful, but that place is so small that you can learn it quick enough.

you have to buy the map to Qufim. Lower Juno M&P shop (3000 gil)

Its about as useless as the map to Kazham

No. "Imasuke will provide you with a Map of Delkfutt's Tower if you bring him a Kaiser Sword." As the description reads, you get a map of the Tower. Nothing More, Nothing less.
