I did the quest for the song it took me about 30min's to gather together 6 taru's from bastok and we all switched to whm's so we finaly get there then someone d/cs ; ; we waitand when he logs back on another guy d/c's so we wait and he logs on and then i finally finish it. i am a lvl 27 brd from alaxander mu name is Minishippo

i made a bs bid on the scroll in jueno for 15k. well, the bid went through. considering it was priced around 180k on phoenix i got a deal. but i couldve just have done the quest. O_O

With Ballad I, you regain 1 MP every 3 seconds. As far as duration is concerned, it seems to last about as long as the other BRD songs ( requires a recast every fight ) but I've yet to actually time it.

All I'm gonna /shout is that if you want this scroll it sells for 250k+ in jueno. That should attract some heads. I'll post back my results, seems trying this on the weekend or after people get out of school would be a better time to catch helpers.

how are you people getting that scroll so cheap..!!! On Unicorn the mages ballad scroll is up to 150-200k!! what is the quest for it? is it easy cause i dont want to pay that much with a 25 bard wanting mages balled here -_-.......

It's ridiculously easy. All you have to do is stand in one place and talk to an NPC for a couple minutes.
Only problem is that it's the second part of a series of quests, and requires the help of five others.
For the first quest, you need six people of the same nation. For the second, six people of the same race. (That's including you, hence the help of five others.) If you can get five other people of your nation and race to help you, it takes about a minute to get this scroll. You don't have to go anywhere, you don't have to kill anything. Just stand there and talk to an NPC.

i set my balled macro's to use harp +1 just to up my string skill and my balled 1 got way way way more distance then normal but balled 2 range stayed the same so after a wile i switched balled 1 macro back to the sandy horn and the range whent back to normal perhaps a hidden effect? post back if anyone else try's this and gets the same result

I recently took up brd as a Galka from Bastok. Last night I thought I'd go to Sandy and get this from the quest...
Do you know how hard it is to find people from Bastok in Sandy willing to help?!? I had to pull 2 people that were leveling out in Ronf and at that had to pay them 5k each. Took me about 1 1/2 hours to finish the Introduction quest. I'm surprised the first two people I asked waited as long as they did. My next mission, find 5 Galka that are not /anon....
Yeah, I think I'll just buy the scroll at the AH and quest it later when I have more time. Currently selling for 100k.

Going for 35-40 k on gilgamesh,i`m glad i keept mine when the price was only 2k!
Doing the quest was a pain in the ass for me, a Hume Bastokian. It is only 300g on the AH, so wasn't a problem just buying it :)

omg, I wish I was on your server... There's so many servers where things are so incredibly unreasonably priced, I dont' see why a mage's ballad which is so easy for anyone to get via quest costs 15k on my server. I see prices of astral rings and snipers rings posted online and it's about 5-10 sometimes even 20x as much on Unicorn... if anyone new is out there please pick your servers carefully and remember Unicorn is NOT kind to newbies...
siren is just messed up. The scrolls you buy from vendors for like 100....3-5K. than the dropped scrolls, like Foe lullaby are only 1K. Though, yeah, ballad is still 80K. People selling these scrolls are rat bastards. Just do the quest, and buy as little as possible from the AH!

if you are apart of Sandoria you can get a group of 6 togeather all same nationality and same race and then go to north sandoria and zone into the guard tower.. after talking with the head gaurd (cant remmeber name) you can complete 2 missions first gives you a shell ring i think and the second gives you mages ballad!
