Sub Thief

How is sneak attack with a monk/thief, compared to a pure Thief...? I know pure thief is much higher, but how much higher exactly, how does sneak attack change vs main and sub? Just curiouse because I plan on going monk/thief and am wondering if the sneak attack is even worth it.

Lets say I do 20-25 damage per hit as Monk/Thief (level 30), what would sneak + Boost wield?
What would sneak + boost + Combo (100%) wield?

Should I concentrate on STR or DEX... why?

Please answer this question in depth, thank you.

Actually, at 41 as a MNK/THF I consistantly do 400+ with Sneak Attack+Raging Fists on IT+. I can't tell you whether this is because of the weapon skill or a combo both. I know that I did consistantly 200-300 with Sneak Attack+Backhand Blow against IT+ before I was able to get Raging Fists. I know I steal hate, so before anyone chooses to comment on it, I'm courteous to my other party members and they're well aware and very much ok with that fact. Considering that, it would seem that most players are under rating /THF for some jobs.

Once again, just my 2 gil.

From my experience with sneak as a sub, you can expect it to act basically as a critical hit with just a shade more punch than normal usually, but not always.

I'm RDM32/THF15 (normally I sub WHM, but THF is good for farming). I do about 40-60 damage against my farming victims (usually the orcs of stonechucker lvl). A sneak did 60-80 damage against these same guys. My normal criticals did usually 50-70 damage.

When it comes down to it, THF main MNK sub seems better. I seen such a person take a clipper at qufim down to half hp off a boosted sneak attack.

yes, it is significantly weaker on a subjob. i was just partied today with a 30 rdm/thf and im a 30 thf/mnk and i did sneak attack for 80-120 damage while he did it for about 20, which was weaker than his normal attacks.

how much damage does this actually do at level 15? with say an 8 dmg weapon

with a 12 dmg sword on a low defense mob, I do 100dmg in average. On a tough high defense mob, I do 50-60 dmg.
It is suppose to be 4 to 10 time the regular dmg.

I was helping a friend today for about 4 hours as 40RNG/15THF and i was checking out the DMG. I dont have a CC axe yet so im using a Warrior's Axe. A normal strike on an EP is 30-40, Crit around 50-55. If i use Sneak Attack i can get around 80. Now combined with Raging Axe its a different story. A normal 100-150% TP Raging axe will do about 90-100 dmg. Sneak Attack + Raging Axe does about 150-170, It was 2:00am when i got THF15 and i logged instantly after leveling so i havent gotten to test Sneak Attack as a pure THF yet. Hope this helps
