I know some enhancing spells depend upon your enhancing level or your gear (e.g. elemental staves) can affect the strength of a spell.
Yet, the game fixes the strength/outcome on other spells (e.g. protect & shell).
I'm wondering in which camp Aquaveil falls. I suspect it is the camp where nothing affect it, but I don't know for sure.
Anyone know?

I am currently leveling SMN to do my Promyvions and I am in the process of defeating the avatars in the mini battles.
I'll get to the point. When fighting Shiva for the first time, I cast Aquaveil on myself before beginning my fight. I had a hermit's wand equipped (Spell interruption rate down 25%).
I had just recast Carbuncle and after Shiva attacked him, I began heading back up to the top. She Blizzard II'd him and he died, so she got to me before I was able to get the spell off.
First attack: casting was interrupted.
I started casting again.
During charging, she attacked me twice, both times hitting as well as dealing additional damage. However, Carbuncle was indeed summoned.
Immediately, she Blizzard II'd again, killing Carby. Right then, aquaveil wore. During recasting, she missed once (+Eva gear) and hit once. My casting was interrupted.
The same thing happened during my Titan fight... had just summoned Carby so hate was still on me and Titan used Rock Throw, which bound me. He then started attacking Carby and Stone II'd him, killing him. I had to wait a while to recast, and when I did he hit me twice during casting. The spell went through anyway and I ended up beating Titan.
This is obviously a small sample, but in my case, Aquaveil had a small but detectable effect, particularly when used with gear that lowers spell interruption rate. Prior to this time I have been unable to notice the effects of Aquaveil in any quantitative way (RDM60 WHM38).

Sorry to say - Never see a difference, off or even when I have it on and soloing EP - I think its a "placebo" spell lol...

aquaveil is quite useless, many high lvls dont bother using it. but by theory, WHM arnt supposed to get hit. But the only good i can see by using this is probaly for soloing, and WHM soloing a Even Match or Decent Match at lvl50 is pretty rare and high chance of death.

But rdm solo all the time... seriously I think they had rdm in mind more when they made this spell then whm. Its also useful for smn battles if you sub whm.

Is this spell broken? I am getting interupted as if I don't have the spell cast on me at all. I thought it worked before. Have been soloing some easys for practice and they interupt me .

It only raises the chance of not getting interupted, it doesn't give you 100% perfect cast.

Not just WHM's. RDM's get it too, that wouldn't be very fair! The WHM already gets way more than the red, why not throw the red guys and gals a bone?! annon lvl 10WHM/5RDM......Taru's will rule the world one day...... =)

It only blocks interruptions from monsters, if you move it will stop

Actully its for RDM lvl 12 too, and vivisect look at the second post! You are more efficient becuase if you are attacked while casting it can occaisonally be interrupted, so Aquaveil stops the interruptin as much

Please make increasing casting efficiency more clear or take it out, I believe the only effect of this is to decrease spell interruption rate.

I'm pretty sure it means that it increases casting efficiency BY avoiding interruptions. After all, if you aren't getting interrupted, you are, indeed, casting more efficiently. :-)

What does "increases casting efficiency" mean? I've never used this spell because I don't have a problem with my spells being interrupted. Is there another use for it?

Yes, it is a self only ability.
