The only thing that affects the damage of this Blood Pact is how much TP Carbuncle has. It works the same with all the other avatars Tier 2 and Tier 4 spells, and Ramuh's Thunderspark ability. The more TP you have, the more damage it does and reduces the chance of it being resisted. With a Light Staff and Carby Mitts, you can let carby melee to build up plenty of TP without draining your MP supply, allowing you to cure effeciently. And for those of you who do not have the mitts, a Light Staff and a refresher in the party works just as well.
Get your party to set up a light skillchain and let carby do some melee. Then MB Meteorite on the end of the skillchain. I think you may be pleasently surprised. ^_^
Sorry but Summoning Skill only effects time it takes to cast the summon, blood pact delay, etc. It will not affect damage. Some people think it does affect damage due to the fact that it is recomended to cap SMN skill before level 20 fights. However this will help you win only because the higher the smn skill the faster you can call an avatar and the faster they perform their blood pact.
I've always thought that it affected avatar accuracy, I'm not an expert in SMN but if that's the case then my DPS and therefore damage is affected. Please correct me if I'm wrong cause I'd like to know for sure
I'm a summoner only thing i notice it affects is my chance at which it will interrupt while casting or if being hit, other then that i dont think it affects anything else.
Wow, someone needs to learn about summoning skill before they post here. The speed at which you cast magic or use an ability is never affected by skill.
I saw a high lvl anon smn fishing in qufim and he pulled up a sea bishop or some kind of kraken. He called carby and one shoted the thing. I didnt see the dmg cause i had the filters on but i was convinced that it hurt. Cant wait to get it :)
Also remember that the strength of the attack is affected by the Summoner's Summoning Magic level... So even if you see a Summoner use this abillity you may not be seeing it's full potential :D
no one know what it dose for real there is alot of talk about SMN skill make ur pet do more dmg and alot more things its the one skill SMN have it has to do way more then just stop ur spells from geting interrupted

Actually, the only effect of summoning skill that i have noticed so far is how well your elementals do. when it comes to actual avatars, i have noticed no difference in the least between having 40 summoning skill and 50 summoning skill. if it did matter, then the 10 points should make quite the difference.
I think the only way to affect an avatars blood pacts is by date and by monster natural resistance/weaknesses, along with of course ninja nukes and threnodys. anything else, i have yet to notice
watch the *** comment please! ^.^ besides if a 56 SMN used his 2 hour on anything around a too weak it would be in the upwrds for 1300-1450 for sure. and around 890-1190 on a IT+
holy on the other hand IS the ultimate white magic attack, unforturnatly BanishgaII does around 250-340 damage on a single worthles...and holy ranges from 211-222 :\ SE you have befuddled me once again
crabs have a high tolerance to light attacks i'm lvl 52 smn and i did a searing light on a robber crab in kuftal tunnel and it only did 32 dmg so meteorite probably wouldn't do to much dmg either
