As soon as I got this it became my most asked for and most used ability. Its absolutly awsome, especially if you have blink tanks, or tanks who have problems with hate and there is no whm to focus on buffing. Last pt I was in the quicker voke cooldown allowed the blm to nuke more often even further speeding things up.
Yes, it is Much shorter then Normal

Much shorter than normal Haste, usually not worth the MP.

I would agree that due to being shorter that its not much use but its a 1 min difference and its a AOE buff. On a fight as 44whm, I would haste Nin, Then me or other tank, i would prob cast 2-3 haste spells and in between have to wait for recast timer. With this one it last a full minute less but your hitting 6ppl at once. Haste = 20 sec recast = 120 secs to cast on six ppl last 180 secs. That means your fist person cast has 60secs left on their Haste and at 40mp per hit thats 240 mp to haste the whole party (In theory if you were to haste every1).

If you use Hastega. You haste everyone at once for 128mp less and it last for 2 mins which means that the first person who got haste still has 120secs which is twice as much as if you were to do a party wide haste.

Ofcourse this is all pre-whm 50. I haven't gotten white mage to 50 and have not used devine vail my self but you prob can do divine vail + haste for party wide effect and argue that it last longer. The only problem is that a Smn can cast Hastega every 1mine, while devine vail prob has a 5-10min timmer which means that in the long run Garuda Hastega is more MP and time effective for a party with 3+ nin /nin.

Divine Veil only works in conjunction with ailment-removing spells (The -na line and Erase). It does not work with Haste.

I enjoy Hastega. It is quite useful for Campaign. How summoner can AoE buff players and NPCs that are not in their own party in Campaign is quite awesome and I can't get enough of it. It does have other very useful purposes as well.

I was in a party with 3 people who had brand new Kraken Clubs from a BCNM and we were skilling up together so I can get Spirit Taker on my staff. Hastega was so amusing in this scenario that I couldn't get enough of it. The crabs were freaking out. Good times...
