I discovered using an elemental staff also increases your level of protection. This is in addition to the Barspell, but is only vaild while you are equiping the staff. I saw a 20 point increase when using the HQ staff over no staff. (I was testing at level 75.)
NOTE: You need to use the staff with the element "opposite"/stronger to the bar spell - because you're asking for protection from <xxxx>.

I'm sorry, but thats not true. the +15 more of resistance is from the elemental staff. The staff ALWAYS has +15 (on a NQ staff) to the opposite element.
Edit: As soon as you unequip the staff, the resistance + is gone. xD

I would try Jeuno. They have a lot of "Bar" spells at the magic shop there.

Does anyone know where to get the higher level Bar spells from? (Barthunder, Barsilence, Barblizzard, etc) The AH rarely has them up for sale.
