Now, don't get mad at me, but I don't like this skill. Reason: My Girlfriend and I are the same level with the same experience points, however when a COR use this skill sometime My girlfriend or I will get 1-2 more experience points more than the other. Making things a bit annoying.

My Girlfriend and I are a set. So having the same experience points keeps us together in the levels.

Please don't rate down for this, but this has happened 3 times now.

At least both you and your GF were getting it.

I had some lazy *** COR in the dunes once that wasn't even making an effort to get the roll on the mages. My friend started off about 1500 exp behind me, and when we finished partying, she was over 1k above me. Wonderful.

While I understand why you want to stay as close as possible in level, I fail to see the logic in a difference of 1-2 experience points. For starters while you might get 2 extra one fight she might get 2 extra the next fight, so in the end I think it's a wash. Additionally, what if one of you dies? The other one going to commit suicide in order for you to stay exactly the same? I don't think it's realistic to think you'll get to 75 maintaining the exact same exp the whole time. If you're within a couple levels what's the difference? Is it really that important?

I kinda know what you mean, but at the same time... its not 1 or 2 more exp that will get you and your GF apart... even in the long run, if you guys get 100 exp gap between each other, you guys can still pt together ... 1 or 2 exp won't get you 3 lvl higher o.O

I am a Cor and heres my word of advice, when mob is half 25% HP use this roll, if you get six or lower roll again and keep rolling until your at least six or seven, I personaly wil roll again at six or seven because I am a gambler and you have a 1/6 chance of getting another six and busting, and at seven you have a 2/6 of rolling and busting, now if you get the unlucky number 9 then I might as well keep it, it still gives a exp bonus and well exp is exp, and any bonus exp to me is freakin great! I usually in my experiance get anywere from 8-11 roll's using this techniqe, I hardly get 9's because using this techniqe my chances of getting a 9 after rolling a seven or a six is a combine total of 3/10 which are pretty good odds in my book. This is my techniqe you may do the math yourself if ya want who knows I might be wrong idk lol

From FFXIclopedia:

Quote:
Optimal Job: Corsair
Lucky Number: 5
Unlucky Number: 9

Notes:
(Assuming COR main roller)

Die Roll |Exp Bonus%
5 |16%
10 |15%
11 |24%
Bust! |-6% (to rolling COR only)

optimal job part refers to what the job of at least one of the members in you party has to be to receive a boosted/the optimal boost from this spell.

FYI on a 200 base XP mob ... this comes out to be

5|16% = 32 extra XP (232 total)
10|15% = 30 extra XP (230 total)
11|24% = 48 extra XP (248 total)

corsairs roll in exp parties
# Jun 05 2006 at 11:24 AM Rating: Decent
They dont use it more often in exp parties because it is not as important as say ninja roll with increased evasion or chaos roll for Att+ but a good corsair would try and get it in at the end of a fight to get the exp bonus however due to the timer in between rolls it just doesnt work a lot of the time and tbh I would personally rather have a dead mob and 6 living party members with decent xp than 1 dead mob and 1 living party member with great xp. Anyway i am cor 19 currently so been through valkurm as cor not the expert by far but thats what it seems to me. I always TRY to get the corsairs roll in there at the end sometimes i get and sometimes i dont. Hope this answered your question.
really??

is it really for the whole party?? How come the corsair don't use it more in exp parties then? from what i have experienced they mostly use evokers roll and some accuracy raising roll.

In all honesty this roll blows. Refresh and HMP for mages and then any 2 of Acc/Racc up, Att/Ratt up, Crit up, and/or Double attack up for melee is far superior to 1 roll on the mages and only 1 melee roll plus the exp roll for everyone. Also rolling everyone separate and then getting them together is tough. Heck, just getting some parties to split up can be tough.

The full buffs gaining faster kills and more chains is better than a CHANCE at 24% more exp even the 15-16% is uncommon at best.

I used this roll when I was level 10, because I didn't have Hunter's
