I got sandspin in King Rampierres Tomb at lvl 7 the other day after like 4 worms.

I was leveling my blue mage today and are having the same problem trying to learn sandspin. I am at the right level, and I've the move has been used on me a lot of times and yet I'm still not learning it. I managed to learn it in the end though ^^ and I'm not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere before or if its just coincidence. But when you are hit with sandspin you get a -acc negative effect, what I did was waited til the effect expired and killed off the worm and I learnt it. Like i said it might be a coincidence but its just an idea to help the frustrated ones. If it works then that ll be great.

When i started blue I noticed that the worms wouldn't use this at all yet the land worms in qufim would spam it. I had an epiphany. Sub Beastmaster and charm a rabbit or something and fight a worm. Because both you and your charmed mob are fightin' it, the worm is more likely to use sandspin. The boost in CHR will also help too.

Just wanted to say, don't forget this spell as you lvl up. The additional effects will ALWAYS help out in a party or solo. Just make sure the area is clear first lol.

I just started leveling my blu, and I've been trying to get my first spell. (With no luck)
A few of my blu friends gave me some advice, though I have yet to test it out. I've heard that CHR helps, as well as INT. I haven't tried to use CHR items, but I used some INT+ rings, and still couldn't get the spell.
I know for sure that it helps to have capped blu magic skill (Though don't ask me how to cap it if you don't have any spells in the first place- I have yet to figure that out ._.). Also, I know that killing the mob as quickly as possible (AFTER it uses the spell) is necessary.
I have no idea if race or subjob affects the spell learning rate. I'm a level 3 mithra BLU/WHM, and I'm not having much luck with any of them. On my other character (Also a mithra blu/whm) I learned my first spell, Footkick, at level 4, and then cocoon at 5. So, in my opinion, subjobs dont really matter at low levels.
Hope the info helped even a little.

It may help, but it is not needed. I've gotten plenty of spells after a mob has spammed multiple other spells AFTER it has used the one i was hunting.
Learning spells is essentially random with the only things effecting you getting them:
1- AF hands
and
2- BLU magic skill level

i tried with these for 5 hours and not a single time was it used by the tunnel worms outside of Sandy ; ;. i got foot kick like the second time it was used but i havent seem any of the mobs i was fighting outside of sandy use this spell once. so imaybe there is a specific place were they use it at Lv 4? if you know which mobs do use it around Lv 4ish. just send me a private massage me the worms.

the worms outside sandy do use the spell(thats where i got it) but like all blu spells its hard to learn. just keep trying and use a weapon like a club to give the mob tp without killing it.

Wow, I sat around with one of the worms in Gustaberg attacking me for at least an hour before it actualy used sandspin... but it must have used every other ability it has 2-3 times.

I had some trouble getting this around San d'Oria so I tried worms in La Theine. I was a level 4 and they were tough to very tough to me. I took 2 of them down then learned it.

OMG i sat there taking 1 point of dmg for 10 min... all he did was sound vacume....
Can you obtain this spell from any worm? I tried for about a hour with the worms in area outside of bastok. Could just be hard luck. >.>

I also try to get the sandspin spell for blue mage but with my luck it does not use it on me.
I wonder do all worms have the same ability to use on us?
the mob has to use the ability before you can learn it, and they have to be ep or higher. when it comes to learning spells, I found it easier if you learn them within just a few levels of being able to use it, but that was just my experience of learning spells

lots of my BLU spells are AoE including this one, how come all these listed are single, surely the person who compiled the list noticed that a few were AoE.
