Awesome Spell as others have said. I used to hate this move so much because those Red Crawlers in Mount Zhalom always used it on me while I was WS'ing on my WAR or THF. Now I have it and its great! Combining this spell with Pro/Shell, and have Pollen activated (my case Wild Carrot) and you can take on Tough+ mobs without much concern.

Crawlers use this over and over and over and its very annoying making it sorta difficult to get but it can be done. It is one of the most usefull end-game spell if your doing super kite stratedge because it will not be over ritten by Phalanx & Phalanx II making a paladin almost invincible. Good luck spell hunting.

I did not read the rest of this thread but by boosting yourself with INT boosting items/equip/food will ensure your chances of learning Blue Magic according to the Wiki. you can learn spells up to 27 level above your blue magic until level 50, it says from what i understand. I'd have to be a blue mage to know that. so try that and it might help

i got this on the first crawler i fought ^^. and i love it, great spell.
This thing is impossible to get. =( I've killed countless crawlers in east sarutabaruta, and have probably seen them do cacoon 20+ times. (not exaggerating) My Blue magic skill is 11... and I haven't gotten it yet.
Most of the time, my back is turn to the mob, but I'm still engaged. Does this matter? I got the other skills (pollen, kick and oats) that way.

Absolutely fantastic spell, useful at any and every level when you're getting hit by the mob.
+50% defense for 10 MP is huge. It doesn't last too long, so you'll find yourself recasting it a lot mid-battle (especially when you see the much bigger numbers of damage taken without it). This is, for MP > impact ratio, one of the best spells in the game in my opinion.

Lvl to use is 8, MP cost is 10, BMP cost is 1, magical spell, Vermin based.
Gives VIT+3 when equipped, and enhances defense by 50%.

Lasts about a minute roughly, recast is also roughly a minute.
This spell is godly, adds 50% defense, and has no cap. Stacks with any protect spell. It'll always be useful, especially while soloing. Though you can only use it on yourself.
