This isn't a bad spell, it's just completely one-upped by another Physical Arcana spell, Bludgeon.
Bludgeon is stronger, spiffier-looking, and cheaper manawise. I can't think of a reason to use this instead, except to shake things up a little.

Well, if you're either fighting mobs with a nasty TP move, or have a crappy tank, you may not want to use Bludgeon too much considering it gives the mob 30 TP if all 3 hits connect. This however is a single-hit spell :)

This is Smite of Rage, which is actually a 1 target move, unlike Whirl of Rage which is actually the aoe stun move cursed weapons use.
